abt the windshield, hey Binoy, post some more pics of it after you get your RVMs....from a farther distance because to be very frank,it looks
just like i imagined it wud look on a black CBR : a chef's cap (because of the black on black)

but maybe it looks better overall..(and thus asking for full view pics)

if it does actually look good, then maybe i too will go for one!

yep! I have had my ears near the engine a 1000 times and em more than 101% sure its coming from the front side.

I know that sound which you are talking abt @ RX100.7050 ,

but no, we get it from the front side...

but u gave me a lead!! ... imagine that "tik tik" sound that comes after driving the bike but at a much much faster speed so as to match the speed of the "vroom vroom" of the bike when accelerated!!!
Amlan, how loud is your bike's noise.. mine is very very light.. it is there when the RPM raises above 4K in idling position(neutral) as well..
i will try to record the sound if possible and upload it in internet..

regarding chain rust.. did u guys lube the chain properly.. even my chain was in the same condition.. thought during service they will apply lube (which is mandatory in 1st service) but the service technician told that they don't have stock of chain lube so he asked me to go for MOTUL chain cleaner and Chain lube.. I bought on the way back from service centre and applied it immediately after reaching home.. and know what, it works wonderfully.. the rust is completely gone after applying it.. i would suggest you to try it..

P.S. The cost of MOTUL chain cleaner is 450 and chain lube is 480..

I got the lubrication done from the Rajinder Honda(Delhi) on the first service(just 4 days before the pic clicked) and they also charge Rs.150 for that.

The reason of rust is that they didn't apply fair amount of motul lubricant because i think, they want to do 100 CBR with one bottle of lubricant.

Other thing which should be consider that the quality of chain metal used by Honda, which just got rusted by little expose to moisture.

Simply HONDA just rolled out this bike with over confidence and least quality checks. They consider indians are the illiterate and foolish in the world

that totally depends bro....sometimes is very silent, sometimes its loud enough to be heard by the rider.

yaa, it most audible when reving up in idling position(neutral)!

                1. I would recommend you show it to a CBR trained technician/engineer if not shown already.
                2. If he can't fix it, try another technician from any other Honda dealer in your city.
                3. Send an email to Honda support, they should follow up soon.
                4. Try to look for the culprit causing this tik tik sound yourself by removing the faring parts one by one or with the help of the Honda technician and taking a test ride, examining all bolts, clips, etc.
                5. Try to do simple checks on you bike like coolant level check, chain clean & lube, etc. The problem is sometimes something else than what it seems.
                6. Refer other forums/blogs regarding same problem.

Once you find the problem & fix it, please share it here so that it helps others just like I shared my experience.

I was also astonished but this was coming from the mouth of the expert, offcourse I don't believe him. I was only stating it here for others as a precaution and they should only change to 20W40 after confirming with CBR service engineer and not do it by themselves. I also told this expert that I use 20W40 in my other older CBZ in summers and then he said that is a 150cc & also the CBR has new technology in it. I was like WTF? Later, I moved on to the other questions.

Firstly I never agreed with that so called expert from Honda, I only mentioned what I was told by him. Secondly, I also favor the 20W40

Also, how soon does the 20W40 become black in the ZMA. I will check it in my CBZ which has 8.5:1 compression as it is due an oil change as well.

I am no expert but does oil turning black means its life is over or reduced?? or is it related with the engine oil filter cleaning/replacement and also climate conditions.

In my ZMA I am presently using20w40 mineral,Gulf Pride 4T Plus, and after 1,200Kms it is still fresh looking and bike is smooth to rev. The oil turns black from the sludge and blowback of the engine...An older engine with worn rings will have compression leak past the rings which will contaminate the engine oil quicker than a engine with good compression seal. This leak turns the oil blackish, and carbon in oil is not good for lube.A thinner oil by virtue of lesser Viscosity has the same effect since ring sealing is less with it.
Motul is by far the best oil for bikes, and stand up to temperature and use better ....Just my thought.

                    • The baby blade is finally here.

                      Hi All,

After a 5 month long wait the baby blade is here finally. Last 2 months were the worst since I had sold my Bullet and the other bike was 2 big for day to day work.

Got the number from RTO today only, the bike has already done 250 km without the number plate. Difficult to keep your hands off, if you have been waiting for 5 months.

No problems so far. I changed the oil after 200 km, as usual no oil filters, so I am not sure if the oil change will be beneficial. Have you guys figured a suitable replacement for the oil filters?

Some pics of my ride along with a friend of mine who got his CBR 10 days back. These were taken at Lonavla.

I ride in just 2 weather conditions...

                      2. When it doesn't

                      • My CBR has done nearly 500km. Should I go for oil change? Also, there seems to be some dry mud on the radiator. How do I remove it such that the fins don't bend?

Although I booked the bike after reading lots of reviews, but still eager to test ride it. Please suggest as you too are from Pune. Did you got test ride before buying the bike??? If yes then please help me get a test ride.

My bike was completely opened and guess what. The complete cone-set is rusted. This is just after a month of usage & 1100 kms on ODO. My byke is in total litter lying at the service center. The quality of the spares used in this bike is so bad. I think these images would show you what I am talking about.
Honda has shipped my cone set parts to my dealer and I am going to pick up my bike from svc center today. Will check if the problem has been fixed or I am going to have some more nightmares.

Well, the manual doesn't say anything at 500 kms. It just says that the first service at 1000 kms and Oil change during that time. However there is no issue in changing it before that.

Regarding the radiator, you can't help much. It will definitely get dirty and get deposited with mud.
After your ride, its better you sit and remove that using a pin or something which is thin and sharp. This will not bend the fins.

Change the oil. There wil be much more smoothness instantaneously.

About the Radiator, clean it with a toothbrush (softly) with up & down strokes.
