  • Short ride to Murthal

I just went to Murthal today for a small ride with a few of my friends, they were asking for party so i asked them to give me company on the ride which they thankfully provided.

Did 150 kms today and the most surprising part which came out is FE - it gave me 24 km/l and this is from the day we took delivery till now a total of 260 kms. Got tankful that day and reset the trip, and got tankful again today so - total kms/ fuel qty = FE, i think i did it right.

GT performed flawless, opened her up a bit today and surprisingly the vibes and harshness have gone down a lot. Hit 135 before i could think whats happening so just closed the throttle again

    It was a good ride

I can see the anguish and pain of being away from ur GT but all the best buddy, this wait would just feel so good when you sit on ur sbk for the first time. All the best buddy, hope u have bought good riding gear, with the kind of power GT has its very important to be mature with the right wrist and have the best riding gear you can buy,

    • The other day I saw white GT650 in mulund mumbai and was surprised to see the beauty so close for the first time. Man I am totally lost it and It is love at first site. How I wish I can have a GT too but that seems like might not get it as my father is hell bent on me not owning even one bike now after my fall on my earlier bike

Wow!!! 24Kmpl is just too good for a 650. I get 30-32Kmpl with my CBR250r. Some owners reported getting only 24-30Kmpl.

The ride looks BIG and just amazing, especialy the all white! Am sure it performs equally well.

Someday am gonna lay my hands on this beast

          I want to say this:
"There are Hayabusas, there are Gixxers, there are R1s, and then there is, the one and the only, the GT650R!"
This is going to be a CULT machine!
Hell its one already! What a beauty!

I can only imagine how proud you Hyosingers must feel!

Why Hyosingers? Well, we love to make sweet music with our Hyosungs dont we?

On a more personally-informative note, you guys are living your dreams and here I am, living nightmares on a daily basis, waiting for the delivery of my GT650R, 2 weeks past the booking day. I booked it the first day the dealership opened here! Its unfair to make me wait! Its another 10 days or so (hopefully) of sleepless nights and GT Dreams () for me I guess, before I lay my hands on this dreamy bike.

About this thread, the ownership experiences coupled with the timeline pictures and reviews of the bike are just fantastic! Reading all the great posts here is better than doing absolutely anything else at all...movies, partying, socializing, whatever. But these posts are injurious to health for guys like me, they make the wait to own the bike even more agonizing! What with all the great reviews, pictures and experiences...the govt should hire you as The Third Degree experts!

I read a lot of reviews of this bike and the subsequent cribbing about build quality, fibre noise, first gear issue, engine stall blah blah blah! That actually makes me want to buy this bike even more! The things people expect from a sportsbike costing 5.6 L is just so unjustified. If you disagree, then go buy the Ninja 650..the powerful commuter that you always wanted. But dont come back complaining when you turn around, sitting on it, and notice there is hardly any Bike behind you! Cribbing about the tiny size, the barely audible exhaust note and the plain looks. Hey, you got great build quality, a 650cc engine, smoother gears, great mileage, a bright green color and paid 50K less...what you complaining about???
HA! Read this thread and get jealous..is all I can say. I mean what is a bike without a few flaws? Where is the biking experience without the rider having to stay sharp and knowledgeable about his ride and being involved in the evolution? Come on. the CULT bikes have always been the one that misbehaved. I dont like the boring oh-so-perfect category. I have my cars for that.

Well, I just can't wait to own this baby and every passing hour feels like a day! To all you extremely fortunate blokes who already own it...best of luck and please continue posting all the great things you guys have to say. And never forget to add pictures!

I shall be back soon to bug you guys a wee bit more with my write-up of my first time. I am inspired.

          XBHP Rocks!

          Have a fantastic day!
          Cheers!

          Wow!
          Aren't you one happy camper.

          • To all GT owners, congratulations!!! I have had my heart set on owning the white GT650R ever since the news of Hyosung re-entering the Indian market came out. I have recently started working and have been saving to buy this beauty and hopefully I'll have enough to book one early next year, a truly frustrating wait ...

Now all I need to do is convince my parents who are hell bent on me owning a house instead of wasting my money on the GT... A practical advice but where your passion's concerned who gives a damn about practicality!!! Practical people end up with a 100 kmpl bike and only sigh and dream about what they desire...

I have been following this thread since its start and just love hearing the reviews and the pics. Keep it coming guys!

Once again a hearty congratulations to all GT owners. Hope to be part of this owner's group soon!

            @ abhirajcb and coolboy007
In my personal opinion the GT looks best in white and you guys are really lucky to have your parent's support on buying the GT.
            Congrats and drive safe.

              • Got the 1st servicing done for my white GT... Added Castrol 10w-50 synthetic oil costed around 2.5k... Now the gear shifting has become slightly better and can easily shift to Neutral when the engine is running.
But I still face the clutch slip problem... initially while shifting to 1st gear bike moves slowly even holding the clutch completely, need to get it rectified.
People look for mileage... But I choose Mile Age

Thanks Bro. Yes I completely understand the maturity required to ride such a powerful machine, not to forget the responsibility. I have some experience on superbikes so I should be ok. But I appreciate your advise, will heed to it.

Haha..you bet I am! Did a lot of research on both the bikes and without a doubt, the GT is set to become a cult bike. Been following it since the first article I read about it in BIKE magazine last year. Cant wait to experience it!

Congrats once again patty on your new bike and I can see that you have been taking care of it well
Are you sure that it was a 10W50 grade oil,as manufacture recommends 10W40 grade oil

                          Patty,
Sorry to hear about that bro. Am equally worried about mine as i have the same color in GT and this would be most prominent in white color, just ask Garware for replacement.

Can you explain the problem a lil more, i am not getting it, any photo? Would all bikes be affected by it?

Yeah bro,I guess speaking to them would help and they may offer a replacement for that part. It's going to be 4 months now of owning my GT650R and no problem yet

                              Coolboy,

                              1) Initially I faced oil leakage problem, for which they had replaced the casing rubber which didn't work out so they have replaced the right side whole engine case.
                              2) When I start up the engine and shift to 1st gear, starts moving slowly even holding the clutch completely... this i'm getting rectified tomorrow.
                              3) And now started a new issue .... I haven't taken the pic so im taking ur pic as reference and highlighted the spot. That part has turned pale brown which was not there when i bought it. When i got it checked with the Pro-Biking person he clearly mentioned it is a seam welding problem.
