Yo can also go for Keiti tank pads which you get it at PlanetDSG. It costs around 900 and quiet good.

      • This is my first post here after i read 35 pages from start to end from this thread. All your GT's look great and very eye catching. Red & Black is my fav. color.

Since, tankpad is being discussed. I think tank pad adds that extra look to your tank and it should be added in GT because the tank is really huge.

I have motographix tank pad added in my current bike. Here are couple of pic's. This costed me Rs.1100/- I bought it from 7th Gear customs in mumbai.

        • Early morning rise and a barrier of significant speed crossed. Today I touched 206 kmph on my GT650R (Nice Road Bangalore), I never got a fine stretch with big trucks cramming the road, was able to reach 192 & 191 kmph in two occasions. But I had my focus, aim to surpass 200+ kmph barrier, an opportunity thrown, grabbed and hence achieved at the last 5 kms stretch before I could hit the Toll gate..

Disclaimer: It is not a feat on which I am proud off, but a purpose, a passion that drives me. It was done with full protective riding gears, 13+ years and 200000+ kms riding experience

Also, got the bike registered in Bangalore, had to pay hefty sum of Rs. 66334 (including Rs. 1953 as fine due to Temp. Registration expiry) for LTT, further paid Rs. 12000 extra for choice Reg. no. 8888 including other charges

I rode 49 kms in the NICE road stretch to and fro, I followed the following patterns to prepare and ascertain the best out of GT650R:

                1. Throttle rip to max 9500 RPM and immediate release with gearshift at 6500-7500 RPM, was followed till 3rd gear and then little revving, was done to ensure that bike mechanicals get prepared to be revved hard from its just finished run-in period: the inherent V-twin vibes were felt prominently beyond 8000 RPM but in those speeds the impact was negligible, and the bike was rock steady on road

                2. Throttle rip to max 10000 RPM, and immediate gear shift was able to touch 186 kmph in 5th gear at 9800 RPM. This was achieved without a crouched position with just a little bend.

The aforementioned inspired the confidence for the final showdown, and I chose a route which would have minimal traffic flow.

                3. Throttle rip to 10200 RPM max with gear shifts, I was doing 206 kmph in 6th Gear at close to 9000 RPM (in crouched position), this instates that there was little more left to offer say at least 15 kmph more

With proper riding posture and adaptive leaning, the handling was great, never felt the bike going out of control, rather heaved up the confidence

                • Rear View Mirror problem

From day 1, my right side rear view mirror was not right.. it used to bend inside while riding.. the same problem started on the left side mirror also for last 2 days.

Yesterday I went to get the number plates for my bike, and showed that at the workshop.. The guys told that the ball joint is loose and they will replace both the mirrors under warranty... I may have to wait for 2-3 days for the parts to come...

Also got the tank pad installed on the bike at PlanetDSG for 1K. I could see some minor lines on the tank in just 200Km riding so far.. looking for something similar for the sides of the tank as my knees brush with that and I am fearing that it will scratch the paint there also.. any one has idea about the side protection strips ? STOMP grips ? availability in India ?

Also, I am planning to order the crash protectors aka frame sliders similar to what Melroyal has installed. Perhaps will get these fixed at the Hyosung workshop only here in Pune......

                  • Youngest GT owner to join the club

Hi guys, i have been waiting for this opportunity from so many months. I had my eye on the GT650R from the day its pics were posted in the News section, it had something which always drew my attention towards it but achieving it at that stage was extremly tough. I would start with a brief intro about me. Booked white GT650R and delivery is slated for next week...

                    Little Flashback
2 years ago i was about to turn 18 and i had no interest and no love for bikes, i stumbled upon xBhp somehow because i was fascinated by Pulsar 220 but had no hope because my parents were a strict NO against biking. I started convincing them somehow and after a lot of persuasion and request i was gifted a 220 by my father but he took me to karol bagh and bought me a helmet and gloves before handing it over to me.

Now am 19 years old about to turn 20 in 2 months, have 10000 kms of riding exp with a few trips to hills and highways. I might sound strange but my friends have made fun of me many times seeing the gloves and knee guards but i have been least bothered about it, even for 2 kms riding gear has been with me.

                    My rides
when i got the 220 i didnt even know how to shift gears, dad was always a helping hand and taught me how to ride it. Then i started riding, getting hang of it and made a few tours of hills after which on 14 Sep i crashed fracturing my left wrist and was bedridden for a month and half. The biking journey crashed and i was sent to US for my studies asking me to bid farewell to biking forever.

                    The comeback
It was time to head back to India, i had been to US for Commercial Pilot course and dad set me a condition to be back by Sep and he would gift me a new car, no bike wasnt even a speck at that time. I agreed, pics of GT always made me work hard, cleared my exams and finished my course in 11 months for which many take 1.5-2 years, i badly wanted my dream.

It was a hard thing convincing mom, it took me almost 2 months to get a nod from her as they always said "Son, your career would be finished if you break a bone or something now so please get a car and stop bothering about bikes"
At one stage i agreed but that biker reignited and i was able to finally get a YES from everyone.

                    Finances
A 19 year old is a waste and would only get the bike with dad's money is what everyone thinks. NO!, i know i have paid a small fraction which is 2L out of the 5.5 the bike costs but i have worked hard at nights analysing situations, i ahve been trading in stock markets from the age of 17 and this 2L has been made out of it over a period of time. Dad sent me some money to visit New York, my friends went but i saved that and stayed behind

                    Riding gear
This was of utmost importance and i have not made any compromise with it. For me and my other passion which is flying, my medical fitness is very important. I might sound bossy but am not those typical 19 year olds who want to show their face while riding a big bike, am of the other kind, more matured and thats the reason i am getting mine so soon.

Helmet - AGV K-3 gothic edition
                    jacket - Alpinestars T stunt
Gloves - Alpinestars GP PRO gloves
Boots - Alpinestars SMX 5 boots.

Yet to get knee pads though. Here is a pic of mine wearing everything

                    Dreams come true
Went today with dad and got the bike booked, White GT650R and delivery is next week.. The feeling is yet to sink in, i have dreamt about it and have worked hard for it, both academic and economic front. I am the happiest man on earth today.

Special thanks to my father who has always been very understanding and generous with my needs. With a lot of trust he has endowed the 650 upon me and i would never break that trust, never. Always ride safe and would continue to do so.

Thanks to Melroy and Zeeshan who have helped me a lot in my queries, thanks to Mohit as well.. A pic of me with the bike clicked a month back. Hope buying a Hyosung would be a sensible decision and they would provide a good service. Would be having sleepless nights now and see you guys next week when i get the delivery.

Congrats on the GT! Nice to see you gearing up properly. When i was waiting for mine, the hours turned into days, hopefully this time passes for you soon. Gareware's after sales service and support has been very courteous and helpful. The powertrain is a monster, disciplined riding will be very rewarding and safe as well, until you get used to the v-twin. Enjoy!

Exhaust note is quite subjective. Most men prefer the stock exhaust since it has a meaty, sweet sounding growl to it. Yoshimura slip-on's come very highly recommended for the GT. Personally, i am looking to bolt it on after a few thousand kms. If you prefer further choices, look here.
