PDI checklist has been uploaded quite a number of times. Here is one I could find easily - http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post800487Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostA lil help there gentlemen!!!
Tankpads - Are you talking of the Yamaha tankpads? If yes, I can check with my SVC and courier it to you, but only by next week.
Extended warranty - Me and many others here have gone for it, since it costs only Rs. 777. You need to adhere to the servicing schedule and get your bike serviced at the authorised SVCs only for maintaining the extended warranty.Last edited by TeeJayy; 05-29-2012, 11:30 AM.

That Red, Blue or Yellow cant be fixed since my bike is black. They have the chequered flag one but i think thats gonna be bit small. Cost is Rs200.
Is there anything else i need to know please enlighten me, this is my first buy which is in different segment.
Okies, i might go for the extended warranty too... I see one of the member has cut its read mudguard! how did he do that? what about rains?Last edited by Eshan-P180; 05-29-2012, 11:37 AM.sigpic

Frankly, I have not seen the tankpads you are talking of. If you are ok with the looks of it, you should go for the Yamaha tankpad which comes with the LE. @shadab07 has posted a pic of it with its part code and price (~Rs. 450) some pages back.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostThanks TeeJayy.

If you are planning to clean, lube, adjust the chain yourself, you would need a center stand/ paddock. Getting center stand fixed would cost ~ 900, paddock ~ 1200. You can also use the Rx135 stand for temporary purposes (not required to attach it to the bike all the time).Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View PostIs there anything else i need to know please enlighten me, this is my first buy which is in different segment.
I had already mentioned everything else in the PM

^^^ in addition to what is mentioned in the PDI list, check the oil level before you leave the dealership. I have come across couple of cases where the oil was less than the minimum required in brand new bikes waiting for delivery.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

The colored ones are mentioned at the end of the page so scroll down.
Okay, the coolant box cap is on the right side of the fairing, i will have to check the level there right?Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View Post^^^ in addition to what is mentioned in the PDI list, check the oil level before you leave the dealership. The coolant reservoir is on the left side. You will need to look at the reservoir by bending down and looking under the left chassis beam. You will notice the reservoir has minimum and maximum marks on its. Since it is under the chassis and the seat its difficult to read the levels in poor light conditions. So take it out in sun light to check it or use a pen light.Originally posted by Eshan-P180 View Post

A bit yes due to the absence of projectors but not in low beam as I have adjusted it that way. . High beam definitely.Originally posted by shreyassave View PostAwesome! But doesn't it blind the oncoming poor chap?
True. But that's fine. Whatever is there is sufficient.Originally posted by shreyassave View PostSadly, even I feel the same when it comes to P220.. I've taken a vow to Love her till the End of time, and accept her the way she is. Amen!

Indeed. The confidence I get in R15 in twisties is amazing.Originally posted by shreyassave View PostAlso, yeah, twisties is the home turf! Same rider on both the bikes can tell the difference!

Just to add to this, actually I went to SVC yesterday to check-up the coolant level as I found it towards the Minimum. They told me that its fine and don't worry about that reservoir level, you should be concerned only when the Engine light goes ON and regular servicing would do the rest
.
A concern guys,
Although not everytime, but sometimes it's misfiring while starting the bike.
I conveyed this to SVC but they are saying no issues and they also didn't find that thing happening while the bike was with them. Infact it happens may be once in a week or so
Please let me know if you guys have faced this prob or any idea about this.sigpic

Hey bikers, this is Faraz Farooque from Pune! I'm an avid reader of Xbhp and this website has helped me a lot in choosing my bike! A White & Red LE Yamaha YZF-R15 2.0!
I bought it at a price of 1 lakh 26 thousand INR which was the on-road price for the same! I Bought this beauty on 23rd of May, 2012. And ever since its been a dream, a roller coaster of a ride! I have completed 400kms so far on both Highway and City conditions!...Here's a short review
LooksHandlingInstrument Panel
This is one area Yamaha should really concentrate on making it better (thats what I feel).
There is a digital speedometer, odometer, 2 trip meters, fuel gauge and a tachometer.
The white colour instrument light looks superb at night.
But a clock, real time fuel indicator, top speed recorder would have given it extra brownie points.
LightsTouring
Touring on this bike can be a pain sometimes!
The bum starts to ache when you sit on it for more than an hour, courtesy the bad quality of cushion used for the seats.
No wrist pain or back pain because of the riding position.
I would still consider the ZMR or cruisers if I wanna tour.
Performance
Can't say much on it as i'm still stuck in run-in period and can't cross 5k rpm, but i'm sure its gonna be as good as or better than my expectations! will update later!

I plan to change the engine oil and lube the chain at the following intervals 150kms (already done), 450kms, 750kms and then at the first servicing at 1000kms untill the run in completes
Here are some pics for you guys i clicked during a morning ghat ride!
