Yes it does!Originally posted by [IN]BeTrayedxD View PostSame things are happening in my Baby R . While i start my bike in the morning , the engine idling RPM is @ 1.5k RPM . But after riding on City traffic or on highway and later coming to HALT @ Signal or some other place , the tacho shows Engine idling RPM at 1.2 k RPM .
Even i hear the tick-tick sound coming from the silencer and right side part of the engine after i switch off the ignition .
Me too.. Myself being a Big (but not that big) showOriginally posted by Ivin View PostLOL !! 123kmph top speed?? I have managed 125 in 5th gear, some 'big show' was riding I guess...
do a 123 on 5th.
The thing is, I dont use the 6th on highways most of the time, and hence lesser FE..

Awesome! But doesn't it blind the oncoming poor chap?Originally posted by Raneet View PostHey guys, installed 2 35W 4300K HIDs. After adjusting the lights a bit, this is the output.

Agree with you. But yes, never try to race any R15 be it V1 be it V2 if it's a twisty road.

Also, yeah, twisties is the home turf! Same rider on both the bikes can tell the difference!
Now thats a cool shot!Originally posted by dpak89 View PostWanted to share one of the pic from my recent trip!

fellow riders, please share your thoughts
this morning, just after riding 5 KMs, suddenly the Engine Overheating light came-up. immidiately parked the bike on the side of the road and kept it shut down for a minute or two. once, firing up the engine again, the Engine Overheating light was still ON. took the bike a few hundred yards ahead to my office parking lot and only then noticed that, the radiator coolant was overflowing through the drainage pipe at the bottom of the bike. i am familiar with spillage of 1-2 drops, but it was quite a bit today. got quite confused/horrified as in my 3 years of riding the R15s, i have never experienced the lighting-up of the Engine Overaheat light. so, took the bike to the ASC and they checked the radiator, coolant level and the fan inside and the light never cam up again. plus, the fan was running nice. so, topped up the coolant and came back to office, a 10KM ride that took almost 2 hours in bumper-to-bumper traffic, the overheating light never came up again and I could hear the fan running.
now, i would seek your opinion since, some of you might have had experienced it randomly. please do let me know if any of you have experienced it and please assist me to calm down a bit.
waiting for your kind replies.

You say your bike is 3 years old. Have you flushed the cooling system and changed the coolant within these 3 years? Yamaha recommends that the coolant be replaced every 2 years (check the Periodic Maintenance & Minor Repair table on page 6-4 of your owners manual). The recommended maintenance schedule is there for a reason; to ensure your bike runs trouble free & to its maximum potential. There are a lot of such things that are given a pass by most people & SVC. No SVC is going to be proactive and do it unless they are very very particular, professional and have understood the value of preventive maintenance. You are going to need to insist that they do it as per the recommended schedule.Originally posted by ashaq54 View Postthis morning, just after riding 5 KMs, suddenly the Engine Overheating light came-up. immidiately parked the bike on the side of the road and kept it shut down for a minute or two. once, firing up the engine again, the Engine Overheating light was still ON. took the bike a few hundred yards ahead to my office parking lot and only then noticed that, the radiator coolant was overflowing through the drainage pipe at the bottom of the bike. i am familiar with spillage of 1-2 drops, but it was quite a bit today. got quite confused/horrified as in my 3 years of riding the R15s, i have never experienced the lighting-up of the Engine Overaheat light. so, took the bike to the ASC and they checked the radiator, coolant level and the fan inside and the light never cam up again. plus, the fan was running nice. so, topped up the coolant and came back to office, a 10KM ride that took almost 2 hours in bumper-to-bumper traffic, the overheating light never came up again and I could hear the fan running.

Just a lil' clarification here...what I meant was, I have been riding R15 for 3 years- Version 1 for 2 years and this new V2.0 for the last 4 months or so. and in both my bikes, i had never experienced that engine overheating issue throughout my 3 year long riding career. both the bikes went through the servicing schedules and respective tasks as per the checklist exactly the way that is mentioned in the user manual.

^^^ oh, ok. I had a overheating problem within 2 days of getting my bike. It would run just fine as long as it was on the move but the moment it was standing in the traffic it would heat up. They could not find out the exact problem so they carpet bombed it. They replaced the radiator, fan, pipes. Not had a problem since then. How much has your bike run till date? There are a number of reasons why this could have happen. The most likely would be a vapor lock which caused the heating as it restricted the flow of the coolant. By the time the SVC got the bike, the vapor lock was overcome by pumping forces of the cooling system & by virtue of the engine cooling down. Thus making it difficult to replicate the problem. Was a coolant top up done recently?Last edited by abhimanyu31; 05-29-2012, 09:45 AM.Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

I had exactly the same problem. The reason quoted by SVC was that Fan was not operating in the optimum range/rpm. They did some rectification which i am not sure of, till now. But now i don't have that problem.Originally posted by abhimanyu31 View Post^^^ oh, ok. I had a overheating problem within 2 days of getting my bike.
