I filled fuel 2 time and both times it was speed from Company operated pump. I was even following the proper run-in method.Originally posted by Shubz View Postsorry to be dragging this along further. did you fill the fuel after delivery? what fuel did you put? speed? shell? extra prem? or regular petrol?
I could be wrong but seems like somethings jammed the FI system, or the fuel was of very bad quality?

Duke'd
Hey guys,
took ma delivery today mornin and i must say it was one helluva experience... simply osum...

There were not much of the flaws mentioned earlier in this forum... there ofcourse was a coolant leak, but it got settled once the level came to the middle (just between min and max)... it was almost at max wen delivered.
Currently ma odo shows arnd 110 kms (25 during delivery)

and also did not follow the "restrictions" much ... however tried to do so most of the times

... crossed 7k rpm, touched 100 kph and i must say, duke is the best street racer for indian roads...
Would give my comments and review in detail soon ... but ... to make it short,
Some "cons???":
1. She gets too hot at times :|:|:| so better keep your thighs split a bit, when idling ...
2. It seems a bit difficult to find neutral (when the bike is not moving) :|:|:|, it was easy when i got it delivered and during the TD also...
3. Do not fill the tank "full", it may leak when you put side stand... so keep some half litre space left... I wasted arnd .25L petrol today jus cuz of that...
4. In a congested traffic, its really hard to use the 1st and 2nd gears... but can manage with just the 3-5 gears... simply osum ...
5. The rear seat is hard to lock back once removed :|:|:|
6. Roadrunner "beep-beep" (Sad horn)
7. hard to stop riding, go back home and park it ... makes you ride it all day long ... under scorching sun, dusty road and even the most congested traffic..
Pros

:
1. Eye-magnet
2. Traffic slicer
3. Quickest bike... and did i mention, the person sittin at the back may fall down the second after you engage the gear and start moving ... (that may happen to the rider as well... wat a pull ;-) ;-) ;-) - people who rode the bike to the full extent, after the service know wat i mean

), An Rtr 180 - buffed up for 200cc with modified filters and an fz with racing kit could hardly beat this babes acceleration... (even under 8-8.5k rpm)... zooms off like a rocket...
4. Decent fuel econ - i got 35-40 wen i rode under the 5k rpm ... at the end of the day it was 27kpl :P:P:P... anyways it was decent enuf for the amt of fun it delivers...
5. BIG Bike FEEL
6. Dominating exhaust note...
7. Ear to ear grin at the end of each ride

I have experienced it... also, its tricky on tarmac when there are two different levels of tar on the road, like when parts of the road have been re-laid... the rear tyre tends to slide...Originally posted by L.P. View PostIs Anyone facing any issues like Powersliding, on Not-a-Road-Like Stretch?
anyways, as per the manual, they suggest you to be extra careful till about 200kms, till the tyres get an overall grip...

I didn't get any call from the PBK, so I had a visit last evening. The guy there said to make the complete payment and I ll be getting my duke next week. I should have visited them sooner.
The on road comes around 1.37 lakh as mentioned by gopinath(PBK chennai)

Sounds serious, it could also be some kind of sensor gone bad. Iv'e done around 410 on my Duke and it has this stalling problem. It can Go off then I need to use the starter while on the move. Will have to wait till the first service. please keep us updated on what happened.Originally posted by alderine rush View PostI got the delivery of my bike just 4 days back and done around 320km. Today evening I went for a ride and after 10km I was in 5th gear pulling from 4000rpm and I got a sudden forward jerk and engine died while me at about 50-60kmph
. Then I pressed the started again and It started but now it was showing warning light glowing red (fuel injection lamp). I continued to ride and I noticed that on the console rpm was fluctuating from 1k to 7k but actually engine speed was constant. The engine shut down 2 more time on my way back home. I will visit the service centre tomorrow.
Get well soon buddy!Originally posted by Shubz View PostCan't be worse than having the Duke parked in the garage while I sit at the comp with one hand in a sling, waiting to get healed!
I noticed this thing yesterday about false Neutrals, It happened to me just like Debashish who damaged his duke. I put the bike in Neutral, the Neutral light came on. Then all of a sudden the bike changed to 2nd gear and sped forward. Luckily the side stand was on and the bike stopped. Has anyone else had this issue?Last edited by spiralbrain; 03-22-2012, 01:06 PM.
