Hi Rishi... I made the full payment today, expecting delivery on Mon / Tue as wellOriginally posted by Ri$hi View PostI have made the full payment of the duke at chennai PBK, which is 1,36,500. The next three days the RTO is not functioning so the registration will happen on mon or tue. Hoping to lay my hands on the duke on wed. Had a test ride for second time, this time I kept upshifting and twisting the throttle and I discovered that, thats the right way to ride the duke unlike other bike where we need to redline on every gear to extract the fullest potential.
Probably we can catch up there.. will send you a PM ont his.
The hike was due to an excise duty of 2.5% or so ..post budget...Originally posted by Ri$hi View PostThe hike in the price is due to the rise in tax(info got from PBK guy)
I was wondering why they asked me to make the payment and pick up the bike next week.. I actually was doubting themOriginally posted by Ri$hi View PostThose who have booked the bike from chennai and waiting for the call from the PBK guys can make the payment and get the delivery. Due to the exams many people have postponed the delivery so the delivery is not happening based up on priority. The on road price is in upward trend so the more You wait, the more You have to pay so its time to swing in to action.
on their intentions, like the Jai Auto owner probably needed some cash immediately and he's asking people to make payment
.. anyways, I called them just like that to find out what documents would be required for Registration and the guy asked me to make the full payment, if I wanted the bike next week.... so will be joining the Duke club by early next week

problem not solved
I went today to the service center at around 2:30pm. The diagnostic tool was connected to the ecu and it was showing some error code then the mechanic opened the meter console assembly and disconnected and then again connected the connector and then the warning light disappeared, then the mechanic sat behind me and we rode for about 2km and everything was ok...But when I was on my way back home the warning light came again and then I took it back to service station and now the service guy noticed that radiator fan comes on even before heating up properly. The diagnostic tool was showing different tempereture compared to bieng shown on the console. Now it was 6:30pm and it was time to close service centre so I had to leave my bike there and will see what they will do tomorrow to rectify the problem.Originally posted by spiralbrain View PostSounds serious, it could also be some kind of sensor gone bad. Iv'e done around 410 on my Duke and it has this stalling problem. It can Go off then I need to use the starter while on the move. Will have to wait till the first service. please keep us updated on what happened.

Price of the bike will be determined when you pay in full, i.e. raise the invoice with them. So even if you booked like a month back and if there's a hike in the price on the day you make the full payment, you'll be charged the increased price.

Don't worry alderine I am sure it is an anomaly in the ECU, it will be rectified, otherwise you can always ask them for a new ECU if that is the cause of the problem.Originally posted by alderine rush View PostI went today to the service center at around 2:30pm. Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

To my knowledge excise duty is paid to the govt while importing the bikes, duke is made in India. Please correct me If I am wrong.Originally posted by sivigshankar View PostThe hike was due to an excise duty of 2.5% or so ..post budget...
Right now the situation has changed. Bikes are readily available but there are no takers so, who ever shows more interest and are ready to make the payment can get the bike.Originally posted by sivigshankar View PostI was wondering why they asked me to make the payment and pick up the bike next week.. Petrol recomemedation
ktm site suggests RON 95 fuel.
200 Duke - Downloads KTM
checkout the fuel recommendation
So we are not supposed to use the normal petrol
