  • Well, I had different but consistent speeds during the trip to Hosur. Started off with keeping it in the sixties and then kept it at between 70 and 80 on the highway. No unnecessary take-offs or high-revving except when i got caught in slow-moving truck traffic. Also I had a pillion for the ride.

I consistently get between 50 kmpl and 54 kmpl during my usual rides at 6 am in the morning or after 9 pm in Bangalore city (I don't use the bike for commuting, just for pleasure rides). I'm not riding this bike to extract the best mileage figures out of it but just coz I'm trying to get the running-in done right (I'm at around 800 km now). In daytime traffic the lowest figure i got was 38kmpl.

    • The best thing about the bike is the cornering ability. Since I'm so used to my old bike's ways, i'm increasing the tilt one corner at a time. Feels so safe with a wide handle bar and the rear tire seems to bite into the tarmac.

Anyone here moved the rear mud cover slightly upward to conceal it or removed it altogether? Does it make sense to do either of those with mansoon around the corner?

Its not speedo error, i got 60+ kml figure five times and the best figures i have got till now are 65kml. Just try to keep speedo inbetween 45-55kmh, you will feel your eyes widening))). All figures i got were before going for first service. Now best i get is 49kml. After first service limitations are not present on using rpm and mileage decreases. The least i have got is 18kml.

        • Initially during the run in period, engine WILL heat up considerably, after which slowly you will notice it become less and become normal, but yes, it will heat up more compared to regular bikes, so be prepared.
I dont feel any difference in heating right now as compared to before but i have got used to it. Esp in bumper to bumper traffic you are going to feel it to maximum. I hope i am wrong and your words are right but till now for me its same.
Anyone who has done more than 1000 km? Do you feel change in heat or is it same?

Changing the oil to motul 7100 20w50 FS will help in getting rid of engine heating issue. While waiting at the signal make sure that You turn off the engine. While riding at 6 th gear the engine heat is not so evident.

completed around 2000kms now. No change in heat. In bumper to bumper traffic when the radiator fans switches on, the legs do get fried. Wear a good thick jeans to prevent your legs.

Once in a bumper to bumper traffic a person was riding his bike next to me in shorts. He complained to me that my bike was getting too hot, as he could also feel the hot air from the radiator fan.

I have checked it long back, if u ride at 65-70kmph consistently on a hiway, u wil def get 58-60 kmpl....( tested by tank to tank method )

                • Hey guys.. i've completed 2000 kms on my bike and facing some problem..

Whenever i ride my bike above 125kmph and then stop and stop the engine by the kill switch on the handle bar and then try to start the bike.. it just won't start..

I have to switch of the key and start again to start the bike.. Any idea?

Yes agreed. 70 km/ h is the sweet spot for the best milage on duke. Have experienced it

This happened once wen my Duke was dropped by my uncle then later starting it was a bit of a trouble, the ignition button wont work and u need to keep twisting the keys and some trial and error methods to get it started...

But this happened only ONCE....and nothing related to highspeed riding..
