I had mentioned few days back that i had a puncture in my rear tyre. Although I had got it repaired from a local, the air was still leaking over night.
Yesterday went to SVC. There on soaking the tyre in water, a leak was found along the rim near the main puncture. The SVC guys told that the tyre can't repaired as the leak was near the RIM.
They advice me to put a tube in the tyre. They said that 140 tube will suffice as tube for 150 is not available.
In the end, i decided fitting the tube in the tyre. The bike's fine since then. The handling is also same.
But i fear that in case the rear tyre gets punctured again, the rear tyre has to be removed/disassembled to repair the puncture.

Now when I brought this up to them, the answer I got was "its normal, its due to the heat". They had me look at a couple of bikes, most of them had that, but mine look more obvious. Let me attach a pic of that.

Yeah I agree its just not feasible. I am travelling to Singapore this month, will check on prices of the powerparts in the KTM showroom there.Originally posted by devil_rider View PostDude.. i searched ebay for price of this alarm system and it was around $249-269 or something.. that's like Rs 12,000-13,000 here
plus you have to buy yourself the alarm stand in the bike so more money..Speed, it seems to me, provides the one genuinely modern pleasure.

Guess I'm on my way there.Originally posted by devil_rider View PostDude, i was at the Ghatkopar SVC on wednesday.. There were three guys who brought their KTM's for service.. I saw one exhaust which had turned purplish on colour..
But the transition is very spotty, not a smooth one.
Right now, looks like the exhaust has just recovered from some disease

Have a look.. also consider tyres from outside too.. Have a stroll down at Lamington Road or Chembur.. and check out some good tyres..Originally posted by devesh38 View Postthe svc guy told that the rear tyre costs 4k.
But anyways the tyres were not in stock right now.
Same with that guy's exhaust.. It was looking like a rash or something..Originally posted by NikhilB View PostGuess I'm on my way there.

He said it was because of some coolant leak but i doubt that was the case.. It was looking real bad. I should've clicked some pics but i was busy getting my bike checked..The best alarm clock is sunshine on chrome.

It is normal for the silencer to change colour to a pruplish tinch! the copper coating changes color due to the heat!
Nothing to worry!

You could try polishing it up a bit using Brasso or something similar..Originally posted by NikhilB View PostGuess I'm on my way there.

Disclaimer*
I cannot say how Brasso will react to the heat. Although if you polish it up well without leaving traces of the polish you shouldn't have any problemsLive to ride.. ride to forget..
