You do have two good motorcycles.

The 2013 Ninja is more of cosmetic changes. It make 33bhp which is not more than what the current Ninja (32bhp) does.

Yes, there are some upgrades like Digitalized meters (except the RPM meter), integrated front indicators in the fairing. No idea about the chassis. I guess even that has been changed.

I haven't seen the 350 Duke yet. But just from my experience of riding the 200, it (350 Duke) should be quite fun to ride. It should (again speculating) have the manoeuvrability capabilities which the 200 offers.

So, I'd say you wait for the Duke 350.

The problem you'll face is that everybodys' lines are not all the same length, so lines that fit a Duke may not fit the Ninja. Likewise, it's even possible that the bolts are different sizes, so the fittings for the Duke may be larger (or smaller) than the Ninja's, in which case you wouldn't even be able to connect them up, even if they were the correct lengths.

          • K&N Air Filter for duke 200

            My first post here
The factory air filter which comes is paper based which, for obvious reasons, cannot be washable and reusable. I was thinking of getting a K&N. What effects will it make on the bike. Also is any sort of rejetting needed (i know it has FI) but can the ECU detect the change in air-fuel ratio and adjust accordingly? Need help!!!

              • Loving my Duke but hardly getting time to ride it! I take it out at night after work and I'm still trying to complete the 1000kms before my first service!

On another note, a friend of mine is looking to sell his Duke. It's in super condition (it hasn't done 1000kms either). He's buying a new car so wants to sell the bike. He lives in Gurgaon so this is for our Delhi / Gurgaon xBHP peeps. If anyone's interested, let me know I'll put you in touch with him. If you guys would like to get in touch with him directly, his name is Suvir. His details are +91 8800217400 / [email protected]

oh..i did have a doubt on the size of bolts but thought that the length might not be of concern since the Ninja being a sports bike might have a shorter length brake line compared to the KTM. But will be going to the Service center to check them out. I expect the service engineer to know whether it would fit or not..but lets see.

Thanks for brining that up. I thought the bolts might be of standard size..but as you said..i'll keep that in mind before going for the change.
Just because you haven't seen it doesnt mean its impossible...expect the unexpected.

                  • fork leakage

And I have a fork seal broken fellas. Today while coming back from office, noticed the left fork was all wet with leaking oil. It was fine till yesterday evening. Must have happened today or yesterday night. To be honest I shouldn't be too surprised as have been riding in rain and slush everyday here in Mumbai. The roads, even the highways, have generous helpings of huge craters. Not to mention the endless gravelly patches owing to the monsoon. And I to my credit have not washed the bike for ages.
good that tomorrow is saturday and I'd be able to go to the svc.2nd service is nigh(5400 on the odo) anyway.
Now first thing I'd be looking for along with riding gears is a fork seal protector of some kind. Are KTM offering something in their powerparts catalogue ?

not as yet in India, but I know that there are aftermarket fork socks that are made of some foam kind of material that some of my friends use on their dirt bikes... They are available in Hyderabad, not sure about Mumbai

Ramkoti... Any of the shops that stock the aftermarket parts, there is a whole stretch of them. You can try Rajdhani or Lakshmi automotives, they are very reasonable...

                            • Turns out noise coming while riding over a pothole also can be the toolkit banging under the rear seat. Removed and fixed firmly again noise gone.
Also there are few vibes coning in at around 4-5000rpms through the foot pegs Anyone else experienced it?
and Petrol im filling is Speed. I hope its fine, mannual says RON91...so is speed but rather than going for unleaded or Extra-premium I preferred Speed.

I posted a pic of these a few pages back; good to know they're actually available here. Just be sure to clean regularly and replace when they start looking ragged. Over time, although they keep most dirt and debris out, some does build up inside the boot, where you can't see it, and because it's there all the time, it can still eat away at your fork seals (though more slowly). And of course, once they start getting ragged, they can't do their job anyway.

As I noted in some of my earlier posts, the USD fork was kind of a mistake for a bike that will be ridden in "all-India" conditions. It may look cool, but in such a dirty environment the disadvantages outweigh the advantages. KTM really needs to either make fork boots available through the PowerParts line, or needs to significantly improve the fork protection by expanding the front fender lowers, or by adding motocross-style hard shields.

Note that USD forks in general are a great idea, but most USD road bikes are sport bikes, and are rarely ridden on dirt/gravel roads; no one is going to ride a GSXR to Leh, and therefore they don't need the extensive protection that the Duke needs.
