  • This is my first post in this forum.

I had booked cbr 250 earlier on 4th of this month in Bangalore, but after I had a test drive of cbr 150 and 250 back to back I decided to go for cbr 150 as I found 150 much easier to handle. Maybe because of its lighter weight.

The dealer has a black & white colour bike, which can be delivered to me next week.
Please let me know what all I have to check before taking delivery.

    • @punarvasu: What's the point of believing in certain specs if the riding experience is going to be good? Calling the cbr substandard just because the spec sheet shows low torque figures against the R15? But you didn't notice that it revs higher and seems to have a fantastic engine architecture. Jumping to mindless conclusions just because you wanted this motorcycle to be something else? Is it so hard to wait for a detailed review from the owners or from a professional auto magazine? Wait till May, I believe auto magazines will be ready with a review. Or may be you can ride it for an hour or so that gives you enough time to test the motorcycle's capabilities in different situations. You seem to be so concerned about the specs that may be you just don't care about what the actual riding impression would be!

As I have said before, this is an ownership thread. Let it be, the owners are yet to share their detailed feedback about the motorcycle. May be they are just enjoying the motorcycle, may be they are not finding enough time to ride or to write about it, OR may be they just don't care anymore to share feedback because of some pointless argument that comes up every now and then! Let it become clear first that the cbr150r is indeed a substandard motorcycle and then we can go on to ridicule it!

I belong to a middle class average family ... and I can buy this bike... for me fuel efficiency matters... another fact is mostly youngsters go for bikes like these not uncles and most youngsters would prefer a fuel efficient bike...

here are few replies from other members who support FE too

Duke 200 and CBR 150R are priced similarly.. thats where the similarity ends..

I took a test ride on Duke 200 too and its an awesome motorcycle..

Duke is a street machine while baby CBR is sports bike may i say track oriented..

Duke was too aggressive for me it doesnt cruise besides the fact its pillion seat is tad too small

Baby CBR is designed to give the track bike feel although it is not as powerful as the real world track machines..

Both are great bikes... And no offense meant its naive to compare the two..

Its more like saying a spoon is better than the fork.. both does different things..

Given a choice I would have both..

10 Nm torque is at 3500 RPM.

CBR 150R was with 80/90-17 front tire and 100/80-17 rear tire and was with a dry weight of 115 kgs. When came to India, its front tire is 100/80-17 (the rear tire size of the original CBR) and rear tire is gigantic 130/70-17 size. The dry weight has increased by 15 kgs but the peak power and the poor torque remains the same.

Please remember how CBR 250R and HH Impulse became flops in our market.
It is high time you stopped posting in this thread, for the past 3 pages I see only your BS. This is an ownership thread and you arent contributing to it sensibly.

            • One of my friend has booked one. went with him to showroom. must say is a chunky bike. is just slightly smaller than 250r. sitting position and exhaust note are same as 250r. can't comment on suspension and brakes or engine cause did'nt rode it.

am waiting for a comparison with R15 but must say its difficult for honda cause r15 has proven to be good in all above departments.

It is a private ownership thread of CBR150R where anything including mentioning its name or comparing it with any other bike is not allowed. Any trespasser will be prosecuted and capital punishment will surely be imposed on him.

So, please do it here in camera by selecting the bike you like to compare.

Hello friend. Could you please PM me the exact calculations for those RPM - Speed chart? If it is on a spreadsheet then it will be even better. Only asking because I have no idea how to do this. And your post was definitely very helpful since we all now know that the CBR150R is quite short geared compared to the other 150cc LC bike sold in India (not comparing not even naming it OK?).
Fun Fact: A Pulsar 220 does the same speeds on speedo in 4th that the CBR150R does in 6th w.r.t. RPM.

And since we do not get model-wise split up sales data from any 2-wheeler manufacturer, we have no way of determining which bike is hit or flop. So it would be sensible if we keep such comments out of any and every thread here on xBHP lest you want to be faced with un-answerable questions like you just did. We here on xBHP have a nitpicking problem where we tend to ignore the informative part of the post and just concentrate on the 1-2 lines which are controversial. So the prudent thing to do is to delete said controversial line.

@Others, since the 2 actual 'owners' have not yet opened up their bikes / opened up to the concept of detailed ownership reporting; specs and TR data is all we have as of now. So if you want, please PM the mods (preferably MG) to kindly move TR / specs based discussions to the 'Launched' thread rather than ownership thread because it is all related to CBR150R, if not the ownership experience. If MG gets the message, this thread will definitely get cleaned up as per wish of these owners.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
