Re: Honda CBR 150 R
To be really honest, I'd say this tyre will easily last me a good 10k kilometers more, if not 15-20k kilometers. It does lose traction on dusty roads once in a while under medium to hard braking, but that is absolutely okay, considering the fact that we're not supposed to ride fast in such conditions. I'm always careful while applying brakes, especially at the front, so even when it did lose traction and slip sideways, I have developed an instinct to release the brakes immediately and the tyre caught traction seamlessly. I faced one instance this Sunday while riding to Nandi Hills, when a localite decided to bring his bike right in front of mine, just when I was about to overtake, in order to avoid a pothole on a dusty patch. I hit the brakes, and the front-wheel slipped, I thought that was it! But as I said earlier, I released the brakes by instinct and luckily stayed aboard the bike, with a near miss of that guy's bike. You can appreciate the tyre a fair bit. But always be careful on wet stretches as hard-braking or cornering a little to hard might land you into trouble on wet/moist roads.Originally posted by Suraj Sabat View PostThanks for your reply..installed the same yesterday on my bike. It cost me around 2.2k, though first impression is good let see how it goes but a bit relief considering the experience you have with this tyre.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Totally Agree! I already met with an accident (Reason - uneven braking) on wet surface at 80 kmph, that taught me how/ when/ where to apply brakes.Originally posted by joelgreen View PostBut always be careful on wet stretches as hard-braking or cornering a little to hard might land you into trouble on wet/moist roads.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Any Coimbatore 150R owners ?
Needs to service my bike., I am from Dharapuram.
So needs a word on service offered at ASCs.
Need to do Fork balancing mainly.
PS. Shifted to Dharapuram from B'lore recently. So, not aware of CBE ASCs.The limiter kicks in @11,500 rpm just within a second after the first shift..And, that's where the fun begins !! ;)

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Hello guys,
Recently facing a problem with the gear shifter. Almost every time I'm not able to downshift at the 2nd and 3rd gears. Is it a problem with the clutch or the gear? Just wanted to know. The SVC guys don't know what to do. The SVC here is just pathetic.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
It should be the clutch plates slipping around, because of improper engagement and disengagement. Try downshifting around 2k-5k rpm. Clutch slips, unlike logic goes, are prevalent at the bottom rev range also.Originally posted by Jakku View PostHello guys,

How many kilometres have you done before this started? What bike were you using before the baby?
Maybe, just maybe, the clutch plates might have been worn out.
EDIT : Only if newbie: Make sure that you're not in a speed too high for the gear and rpm. Example, downshifting from 2nd to 1st can be very clumsy if you're running at 30Kmph, 6000 rpm on 2nd gear.I meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
If once the gear does not change then it won't change at all until I release the clutch slightly. It also happens when I shift to 1st gear from neutral. It happens irrespective of the speed or rev range.Originally posted by Vattsy View PostIt should be the clutch plates slipping around, because of improper engagement and disengagement. Re: Honda CBR 150 R
In that case, namely RPMs don't matter, the clutch plates must have been worn out. Take it to a better ASC before you simply stall on road one day.Originally posted by Jakku View PostIf once the gear does not change then it won't change at all until I release the clutch slightly. Are you releasing the clutch after every gear change? Or trying to shift 2-3 gears while holding the clutch?Originally posted by Jakku View PostHello guys,

I'm releasing the clutch after every gear change. It does not always happen though. It comes occasionally. But when it happens it's a real disturbance.Originally posted by leech View PostAre you releasing the clutch after every gear change? Or trying to shift 2-3 gears while holding the clutch?

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Okay, I took a good look at the front tyre today, and it looks like it'll last just another 5-7k kilometers so forgive my earlier over-optimistic estimate. I don't think I'll even run it more than 7k kilometers. But the grip it provides till date is superb. Here's a few pictures of what it looks like after ~21k kilometers (covered in 1 year and 3 months approx.) which is somewhat comprised of 80% good highways and roads (with the occasional potholes that I always managed to hit), 17% decent but dusty 'kachha' roads, and 3% crappy gravel paths.Originally posted by Suraj Sabat View PostTotally Agree! P.S. it may currently have a puncture or two as it loses around 4-5 PSI in a week (200-300 kms approx) but apart from this I've never had a puncture in this tyre ever since I purchased it.
When I had the rim-bending incident, I had to ride some 50 odd kilometers back home and 10 more kilometers to the service center the next day, all on an almost flat front tyre (the air escaped through the bent portion of the rim). I was afraid it'd give way and tear somewhere, but since I had no choice, I had to take the risk. And it is still going strong. If I wasn't the kind of person to try upgrading tyres on my bike whenever I change them, I would definitely plan on purchasing this tyre again in the future when it is due for replacement. But I want to try and see if I can get a better Michelin/Pirelli tyre of the same size (don't want to add to the speedo error or take any other risks by installing a tyre of a different size). Cheers, ride hard, ride safe.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
Looks like it has got some more miles on it. Just be a little careful in mud. And when the day comes, DO NOT judge by the Tyre wear indicator as you don't seem to be banking hard (look at that side profile, as perfect as new). Guys, has anyone seen the new CBR150R in India? It was looking close to this, as far as I remember. Please note that the picture attached is the indonesian variant.
I had seen and had been invited to buy this (or something that looks close to this) in the March of 2016, when I went to buy a 2012 model at Autofin Honda, Himayatnagar, Hyderabad. It had 2 headlamps (like Fazers and R15s) and a seperated elevated tail (again like R15 v2.0) I was not impressed by.
I know that this version is neither on the website nor any announcements were made about it. Please let me know if anyone else had seen this. I would be very delighted if anyone can check with the ASC for the same.I meditate as I ride to find a place to sit and meditate.

Re: Honda CBR 150 R
I do judge by tyre wear but always use the centre portion of the tyre as my point of reference. I always end up with chicken stripes, and it's actually because I chicken out when the corners start getting sharp. I'm either afraid of falling and ruining the ride, or scraping my AGVSport knee guards that I recently bought for 3k (yes, that is a good amount to me), so I play a bit too safe, every time.Originally posted by Vattsy View PostLooks like it has got some more miles on it. I just want to save up and buy a racing suit with the knee sliders and start killing corners like nobody's business. But it'll take a while to get there even after I get the suit. After all, safety is my first concern.

If yes, that would be the 2015 Indonesian model.
Again, the picture attached is picked from the internet and not clicked by me. :P
