Review by Overdrive magazine is Negative I feel it was too biased.
CBR was given a rating of 3.5/5, and R15 got 4/5 and Duke 4.5/5.
The person who review it was not a fan of the VFR design at all.IMO it was own personal feel about the bike and was not like true expert review to me.

I haven't read overdrive. But one guy got the slime green colour bike to college. First impression on riding was it is just another dazzler with full fairing, even the switch matches it. Anyways since it was a new bike I could not rev above 5k rpm and the bike was sluggish. I agree it's a good machine but surely not worth 1.35lakh. It's of the likes of karma, in fact I feel karizma is better than this in most aspect. Unless they drop the price to below 1 lakh its really uh hu.

          Hey Danny,
In the comparison review did by Autocar India, that guy said the pillion seat was really good in R15v2. What u think about that?

I read that too.. But that was pretty decent IMO. Though they didn't recomend the CBR when compared to R15 V 2.0, their review was good and straight forward.

I actually bought all the auto mags this month that had the review about the CBR

Bike India and Zigwheels review were positive and in favour of CBR
              Auto Car was ok.
OD and AutoBild reviews were very negative

We should believe the mag reviews to some extent. After all its the owners experience which is most valuable.

I totally agree with you.. Most of the reviews were done based on what they expected from the bike and what it delivered to them kind of reviews. Very few reviewer have given the review with the open mind, wihtout any expectations, and their reviews were totally positve.

Sure...here are test details of CBR150 V/s R15 V2 as given on overdrive mag.

                      Performance Numbers

                      0-60 km/hr = 4.94 seconds for CBR
                      0-60 Km/hr = 4.79 seconds for R15

                      0-100km/hr = 13.23 seconds for CBR
                      0-100km/hr = 13.01 seconds for R15

                      Top speed = 130.74 km/hr for CBR
                      Top speed = 131.7 km/hr for R15

                      Fuel efficiency
44.8 kmpl in city and 67.5 kmpl on highway....Average 50.5kmpl for CBR.
                      36.3 kmpl in city and 53.4 kmpl on highway....Average 40.6kmpl for R15.

As you can see CBR and R15 are both same in terms of performance but CBR beats yamaha by big margin in fuel efficiency. Now the reason why Overdrive review was biased towards R15 was because Honda could have tuned the CBR for better performance by sacrificing some fuel efficiency.....because buyers who will be spending high amount on this bike will certainly give top priority to performance and not much concerned with mileage. Now the good news according to overdrive is that CBR can be tuned for better performance to beat R15....meaning Honda can tweak the ECU or remap it to get better performance. If you guys remember Honda has launched year 2012 CBR250 with tweaked/remaped ECU which has better performance and fuel efficiency....so its possible that similar thing can be done with CBR 150R as well.

definitely this review is biased towards r15 as you can see the comparisions from zigwheels , autocar, throttlers.net. All 3 say cbr 150r quicker in 0-100 by a whole second than the r15 also cbr has better topspeed and fuel efficiency. I wonder how this review is so much biased.

I'd posted a small review earlier in the thread, here it is:

I took a test-ride of the CBR150R at Saphire Honda in Bangalore yesterday. They have a green-black on display and a orange-white for test rides. Bike is comfortable to sit on, and pulls well even with the showroom exec sitting pillion. The bike had barely 100km on ODO, so the engine felt quite tight.

                              First impressions:
                              Super smooth engine
                              Brakes are fantastic
Exhaust note is addictive (bassy and growly)
Gears kept getting stuck on the test ride bike (explained below)
Pillion seat is comfy as well

Revved the bike a lil at standstill, and the revs rise real quick! On the move, the bike felt zippy in the first 3 gears, but the combination of my heavy weight, pillion load, Bangalore traffic () and a barely run engine ensured that I couldn't get anywhere close to even 8,000rpm in the next few gears. Suspension is great and soaks up bumps that would rattle your bones on an R15. I made the showroom exec ride for a bit since I wanted to check pillion comfort. The guy was SOOO rough on the gears that I now knew why the test-ride bike gearshifts were so screwed up! I'm sure the bike will be BRILLIANT once properly run-in!

My RaceConcepts R16 felt MUCH more powerful when I left the showroom, but I really loved the feel of the lil Honda. I'm looking to change my bike solely for better comfort, and right now I'm considering getting the 150R rather than the 250R. Why? Coz I'm quite happy with the power these 150cc rockets provide, and you get the added benefit of extended tank range due to the better fuel-efficiency.

                              Negatives according to me:
Switchgear - Although the switchgear works well, it is a little disappointing to find stuff from bikes a category or two below (read Stunner/Shine)
Lack of an Engine Kill switch and a Headlight Flasher
The speedo console looks like a shrunken-down version of the one on the 250R and looks decidedly lower quality.

                              Conclusion:
Honda has given us Indians an awesome alternative to the Yamaha R15. The R15 is a little too focused for regular commuting, and this is where the lil CBR makes sense. In every-day conditions the softer suspension, comfier riding position and better visibility courtesy the 55W headlight makes the riding experience that much better. Will I get one? I'm still in a dilemma between the 150R and the 250R.. Whichever one I go for, I'm sure I'll be happy. My Yammy has served me quite well in these past 22 months (37,000km on ODO and ridden far and wide) and I've realised that I needed something more comfortable. Will definitely take a longer test-ride, WITHOUT a pillion to finally decide.
I did get a back-to-back test-ride of the 250R and 150R and had settled for the 250R. But after much thinking and debating I FINALLY decided to go for the CBR150R coz it just felt so right when I rode it.
A good rider has balance, judgment, and good timing. So does a good lover!

                              • I took my Orange CBR today morning. rode from dealer to house. I couldn't get adjusted to its seating position immediately.

                                1.Torque is good. Extremely happy.
                                2. I banked my right arm too much , so I got too much pain in wrist.
                                3. Braking is sharp.
The showroom guy said to me that i shud never fill Speed petrol or anything like tat. Is it True?

                                This was in the manual.
"Your vehicle is designed to cut off automatically stop the engine and fuel pump if the vehicle is overturned.A banking sensor cuts off the ignition system"
                                Wat does that mean?
