Thanks for those suggestions. I'll check out a few MRF dealerships over the weekend. It rained heavily yesterday in Bangalore. My bike was all over the place and I was cursing myself "If only I had posted this question some time back and had my tyres replaced by now"!
I'm 6' 1" so the increase in height due to added foam shouldn't be an issue to me. But my mom who already struggles to get on the bike will probably stop commuting with me!

I think opposite to Kalyan nagar bus stop in the outer ring road you will find MRF authorises shop
That's exactly what I was contemplating. Is that extra price justified. Plus, I have these extremely bad patches of roads(read village like mud roads) on my way to the office. So I am not really confident about Michelins or Pirelli holding up well on such conditions. Will roam around that area over the weekend and check out few dealerships. Thanks

About the price of Michelin's, yes it's definitely justified. I've done corners on those tyres and they stick to the ground like leech.

I'm only talking about Michelin Pilot Streets, the ones made in Thailand. The Pilot Sporty is a shit tyre, compared to Street.

But since you mentioned bad patches of roads, you might also want to consider Ceat Zoom XL, I use those and they're strong as hell. No punctures in the 9k kms so far. Decent grip in dry as well as wet conditions, and the price is just 3k for the rear. For front, I would also suggest the fz tyre, aka Zapper FX.

Don't know, there were P220 without fairing as well. But whatever be it, the NS tail section and hugger has inspired many and is unique. I wish Bajaj should've retained the same instead of the traditional old fashioned tail guard in AS200.

Ns for above all performance looks and average(36 to 44 kmpl) [emoji41]
                      Fz for smoothness

First things first, 200NS is not in production right now, I was assured by my svc that they will resume soon as this is only to promote AS\RS. (I hope you don't want to buy used NS), so I'm considering AS200.

                        AS200 Pros:
                        1. Exceptional performance for the money you throw
                        2. Very good handling and cornering fun as compared to a gixxer
                        3. Heavy bike, weighs ~155KG making it more stable at high speeds
                        4. Can easily cruise at high speeds say 90-110 @6-7K RPM (Which is very easy for this bike)
                        5. Braking is great, esp the front.
                        6. Display or console is good with enough information
                        7. Looks are depending on your eyes, it's somewhere between RS and NS
                        8. Has projector and wind shield for night rides and high speed riding
                        9. decent pillion support, but no pillion foot rest and can't take anyone for more than 1 hour trip (as pillion)
                        10. Flexible but not as much as gixxer\duke

                        AS200 Cons:
                        1. A bit heavy (it depends on what bike you currently own)
                        2. Mileage can be anywhere between 32-40kmpl (after setting up engine)
                        3. No Fuel Injection, only carb but that's fine
                        4. No MRF tires (at this time)
                        5. A bit of mediocre quality (Remember, Bajaj)
                        6. Bajaj service is not that great (Ofcourse the world knows that)
                        7. vibrations are there, but mostly it can be ruled out if you do a proper engine setting.

                        FZV2 Pros:
                        1. Very smooth bike to ride
                        2. Decent pillion, but not great
                        3. Good mileage (my friend says he gets 50-56 kmpl (i'm not sure))
                        4. Good flexibility and nimble in traffic
                        5. Yamaha service
                        6. Lots of colors to choose, I'd say vivid
                        7. Good tires and bigger section for corners too
                        8. Very good for City
                        9. Very good build quality, It's Yamaha dude

                        FZv2 Cons:
                        1. Poor performance, while it's ok for city rides, but on highway you can't expect anything beyond 80+, as it will loose it's breath or the engine may sound very loud and stressed with vibrations. You wont like it.
                        2. Low pickup initially, at leat FZv1 was ok.
                        3. No clock, eye soaring red color backlight (I don't know whose idea it was) and only 1 trip meter and no gear indicator (As in gixxer)

Well these are my comments dude. I'd prefer AS200 as I can compromise on service and other things, I need power when needed and I do cruise once in a month to distances as long as 200 KMs. But if your purpose is only city, then stay away from 200 because you not only wont use it fully, you are also wasting money for the horses that you don't use(say 23bhp vs 14bhp). Also AS200 consumes more fuel than FZ or gixxer. Even if you ride AS200 sanely still you cant get always better than 40+.

Other alternative is Gixxer or Unicorn 160(but it lacks style and but better engine than Gixxer or FZ). Or I'd even advice you to wait for Honda Hornet 160 which is a killer to be launched in few months (maybe oct). Let me know if you need any other info

                        • Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences

Hey Guys! I need some help here. I have a 200NS almost 1yr 8 months old which has done almost 26,000 kms.

I am facing a problem with my indicator and headlamp switches. They don't work seamlessly and it feels as if the contact is not established correctly inside. It almost always happens after a heavy rain or a water wash. I think water seeps inside the switch and messes up the contact. Have any of you faced a similar problem with your bike? This is an on-off problem, that is, it gets fine automatically in a day or two because I think the water inside dries off by then.

I get it rectified at the service centre every time I give it for servicing. But this keeps cropping up. The problem is when I tour, which I do quite frequently. I do not want to risk with a malfunctioning headlamp and indicator during a heavy rain.

It would be awesome if you can help me out with this. Will I have to replace the whole indicator and headlamp switch set?? If yes, any idea about the approximate cost??
It's not about what you ride. It's about where you take it.

That's the old 220 which used to be with 180's front fairing and 200's silencer.

its p180 for sure, since it has drum brake @rear. p220s has disks on both wheels
