Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
thanks to vivek7593 now i can ride NS with negleigible Vibrations on footpegs.as vivek mentioned right footpeg had vertical Movement, took it out and inserted the slimmest washer i could locate and reassembled the footpeg.now it is as smooth as knife going through butter.
there are similar type of vibes in both side covers but they arent annonying so i am not concerned about them right now.
still need a Engine oil Recommendation after Motul 5100 proved to be just another average engine oil. anything beside motul or Petronas i can try?200NS 25K kms / RE500 7k kms / Electra 30k kms / P150 80K Kms(SOLD) / i10 40k Kms (SOLD) / Tata NEXON 2K Kms

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
I bought my pulsar on March 2014, did all the servicing on time. Prior to July my bike was running all fine but on last week of August I notice that my coolant was low, so went to service center for top up on September 3rd but after 1 week I notice that my coolant was again low. So did a search on Internet about the problem and found that it might due to coolant leakage. And I notice that is white layer of coolant floating in engine oil. Went to service center and the mechanic told me that gasket might be blown. Bike is in service center and have been told that it might 1 week for solving it. Bike was running on motul 5100. Between its the first case coolant leakage in my district (told by the mechanic) so thinking I might be damn unlucky.

one week for changing a gasket? that is too slow. my bike was kept for a day when the fan wasnt kicking in. that too as they didnt had a part in stock and it was about closing time.Originally posted by Vishal Singha View PostI bought my pulsar on March 2014, did all the servicing on time. the coolant leakage into engine oil is more of a unlucky phenomena. good thing you kept a eye on coolant level. i check it everytime i start my bike.
i did it myself at home , the old DIY way , went out bought a Taparia Allen key set and 10/12 number spanners (in my experience buying a T type number tool is much better) and tighten up all nuts and bolts of the bike.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostHowever can you please explain In details what have you done to fix the vibes as I am also having the same ones
started from rear number plate and tighten the bolts on the plate holder then check the nuts under the pillion seat and tightened all the nuts you can locate.after that you remove the rear and front seat and tightened up all nuts with help of 10 number T tool. as fuel tank was little viby too i went to inspect allen bolts holding it , tightened them as well ,many were loose and could take half turn easily.
side covers bolts were tightened too and one on each side required screw driver. just tightening this much made journey vibe free for pillion rider but i still had Vibs in footpeg. that was due to horizontal movement in the footpeg(i guess footpegs were messed up due to falls from panic situations with Euroslips). footpegs were fixed by jugaad. i removed the whole assembly and inserted a slim washer i bought from auto shop. that did the trick.
just out of curiosity i checked the clutch side bolts. never expecting them to be loose. these were loose too. some took complete to 1.5 turn to feel correctly torqued. i am not sure how they assembled my bike. these cant get just loose in 7k kms of running.
now my bike is 80% better after this tightening exercise, i hope it will get smoother with a better engine oil.
let me know if you want to know location of nuts or something else. only head scratching i had to do was while removing the fuel tank and it was due to 2 little rubber shrouds hiding the allen bolts
just a little tip if you deceide to go DIY way, dont use excess force and rip the threads of bolts. i did with few allen bolts. place the allen tool firmly in bolt, and then use the T type tool or some other tool to provide leverage and torque it correctly. check following vdo

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Hi I'm planing to buy 200 NS on second hand. Saw one bike 2015 March model. Please advice me what are the things I should be looking in before getting the bike. This is the first time I'm getting second hand bike and I have zero knowledge in checking the bike. The price is 75k. Is that okay? The bike has done 4500 kms. Please look in to and help me to what are the concerns.

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
Abnormal engine Engine sound, tappet sound, working of all sensors, any crack in chassis, front fork bend, disc bend, gasket blow(oil leakage), speed of vehicle in corresponding rpm, oil and coolant mixture, chain and sprocket wear, swingarm chain guide rubber wear, tyre wear, air filter mod, lhs and rhs switch control, battery health, sensor lights popping up in meter console.Originally posted by saran_RS200 View PostHi I'm planing to buy 200 NS on second hand. Thanks a lot for your response saranOriginally posted by saran93 View PostAbnormal engine Engine sound, tappet sound, working of all sensors, any crack in chassis, front fork bend, disc bend, gasket blow(oil leakage), speed of vehicle in corresponding rpm, oil and coolant mixture, chain and sprocket wear, swingarm chain guide rubber wear, tyre wear, air filter mod, lhs and rhs switch control, battery health, sensor lights popping up in meter console.
This much things I should notice? Can you advice me how to check the following that you told?
working of all sensors, any crack in chassis, front fork bend, speed of vehicle in corresponding rpm (At which RPM it should reach particular speed?),oil and coolant.
Is that good to take a second hand 200 NS ?
Thanks

Re: Pulsar 200 NS Owners Review and Experiences
There are few advantages to take a used bike, Bike already ,might have been done with a proper run-in, serviced well. But if the rider didn't do these things properly then it might be risky as well.Originally posted by saran_RS200 View PostThanks a lot for your response saran

Can you tell me these things?.
1. How many KMs it has run?
2. How any services?
3. Was the bike bought on loan\full payment
4. What's the mileage? (35-40 kpl) is good
Buying a used bike is not a problem at all unless you are completely unaware of the hidden things.
1. Observe tire for patch works, grooves, etc
2. See if the handle bar sways on one direction
3. See if there is any loss of power at certain RPM
4. Observe vibrations in tank\seat\footpegs (though this can be fixed)
5. Check for coolant stuff and radiator fins (for any breakage or damage)
While most of these things can be sorted out in svc, but few things are important.
And of course what saran93said is very true, but when you do a Test ride, it will clear most of the doubts in one shot.
By the way, since you are from Chennai, if you can pay a little bit more, even I can think about selling mine, 2014 December model, just ~5K KMs on odo with projector and duel tone horns installed, Motul 5100 running with, almost nil vibrations and complaints
.
Oh, you ask me why would I want to sell it so early then?, well I just love Mojo 300
and waiting for it's launch in few months time
. I'm serious bro. Do let me know or PM me.

That's good. 2013 model with 4K, was that guy sleeping on bike all these years
Anyway when things are cheap, we have to look out for some hidden issues. Good luck and ride safe.Last edited by jbm_guy; 09-14-2015, 12:15 PM.
