    I don't go by what the people claim. I go by how my bike behaves. If the engine starts getting rough or making noise, or gear shifts harder, I change the oil.
    Any tips or suggestions for new NS owners on how to maintain the bike like yours ? Like riding style ,service intervals, parts change etc etc

      I don't have any tips.

      Just don't be cheap about your bike. I treat her like my child. Anything she needs, she gets.

      Simple as that.

      Riding style - I usually ride around 70 kmph. I don't brake too hard, nor accelerate too quick. I avoid short cuts, prefer main roads so that I don't have to deal with bumpers and people. I also put Nitrogen in my tyres.

      Service intervals - Usually every 2 months or 2k Kms, whichever comes first. I get the air filter cleaned, spark plug cleaned, chain adjusted, ball bearings cleaned and greased, specially for tyre and sprocket bearings. I always do reserve to reserve tank, and use HP petrol only, usually Power. Indian oil sucks. I also clean my chain once every 600-700 Kms with Kerosene and apply gear oil.

      I don't go to the svc. They are thugs who just want your money.

      Parts change - So far I've changed chain sprocket twice, clutch plates once, I change the brake pads as per requirement, never let it go to the absolute limit. Air filter and spark plugs every 10-12k Kms, fork oil changed once at 20k, 2nd time at 38k.

          Which engine oil are you using ? And is it true that before we start our bike at the beginning of the day we have to start and leave it idling for a minute ?. How often do you get the nitrogen in your tires checked ?

            Apologies for butting in, it's good to warm up the engine in the mornings for sometime (some say a minute, some a few minutes) and take it slow for the initial 2-3kms.

            No offence, but nitrogen is not useful in any way. Just fill normal air, and check every week.

            He uses Motul 7100 20w50 and changes it every 3-3.5k kms.

                  Typical NS engine means high compression engine with SOH. You get more wear and tear of engine internal parts such as camshaft and piston rings and valves and other.

                    really ,if thats the case then everybike from fz to cbr will have the same issues because all of them run high compression ratio ,,kindly refrain from making statements without facts to back them up

                        Ns200 and cbr 250r r all engine running on high compression ratio...ns200 has 11.1:1 while cbr has similar compression ratio but slightly lower....so this types of engine run faster hence v get better horsepower but low on torque compared to its power....also these engines tends to get heated fast hence the use of liquid cooling for better thermel efficiency....due to its faster rpm pickup u get faster wear and tear

                          The CBR250 has DOHC. Compression ratio is 10.7:1. No doubt the average CBR250 engine would last longer than an NS200, but the parts are expensive too. Value of money has always been Bajaj.

                          However the current R15 also uses SOHC but has a compression ratio of 10.4:1. The new v3 has a ratio of 11.6:1.

                            I heard the new r15..v3 has a variable valve timing....will this improve FE and performance?

                              In theory, yes; real life testing is what I put my money on. However, the most important question is, will this new version be as reliable as the old? Time will give us the answers...

                                Lets hope so....i love the v1 r15...i think it was powerful than v2...lets hope v3 is better than v1 & v2
