Hello guys,

I'm using Motul v300 in my NS200 for the past few years. Earlier I had a monthly running of 1200kms, and hence I used to do an oil change every 5-6 months.

However, recently I relocated closer to my office and my monthly running has gone down to 300-400kms per month.

This makes my total running around 2000kms for 6 months. And according to calculations, it would take me close to 18-months for an oil change (utilising the entire life of the engine oil)

My question is if 18-months (6-7k kms) with the Motul v300 is okay as a time period for engine oil change?

I can switch to Motul 5100 later, but currently, I have 3-4 bottles of Motul v300 in stock.

Synthetic doesnt go bad with certain period....its life is usually calculated on kms....thats the viscosity it can hold upto certain kms....anyway change oil in 12 months may b better..

Anybody experience left side pull on their NS when you lift your hands off the handle? Mine is new bike, service centre guys were unable to solve it completely... Anybody knows the solution or reason?

Bike starts lugging as speed decreases like for example in 3rd gear bike can have max 24Km/h as per manual but once uphill starts the bike loose speed and so as soon as bike starts lugging I shift down suppose to 2nd gear. But then bike feels making a lot of sound and I fear of crossing 4000RMP too. Is it okay to do so on uphill parts on low gear?

I would like to know how to handle uphills without effecting bike engine.
Same here, but after 1st servicing, this issue has lessened a little bit.

VVT doesn't increase FE. in fact it decreases it.
VVT kicks in at higher RPM's. When VVT Kicks in, there will be a significant increase in power from the engine because engine will burn 2X amount of fuel to generate more power. Check youtube for How IVtec in Honda works. The concept is same, but the name is different in Yamaha, hyundai, toyota and others.

1 yr is fine imo, i wouldn't go over that between oil changes.
try selling that oil to your friends and switch to the 5100 or 7100 and continue the shorter oil change intervals i.e. every 6 months.

Your beast looks amazing

Good to hear that your bike hasn't given any problems so far.

I expected the same from my bike as well

Thank you so much for acknowledging the issue in regards to my bike

1. Not filling up the tank.
I never take my bike to reserve, as soon as it reaches reserve I make it tank full and I always ride tank full to reserve and tank full. Never have I taken it to empty.

2. Carb issues
Got the carb changed as well
Cleaned the fuel lines so that if any dust has been collected can be removed

3. Clutch plates.
Never I ride my bike half clutch, I use clutch only during gear changes, or when about to stop , I turn the bike off in traffic.
Having the doubt in clutch plates, changed them as well

As per your suggestion I wanted to take to to a local mechanic but unfortunately the people here don't deal with it and I am afraid of loosing my bike's warranty as well

And brother I have got many of my friends and other folks who purchased NS 200 2017 version facing the same issue with the same sequence.

Something which I feel Bajaj themselves have to acknowledge

And dude I m really tired making rounds to SVCs past 10 months. I am really done with this hence have written it to ASO of Bangalore region and waiting for their response
Any updates? virusuman did your bike issues get resolved?

Hi members, after a lot of contemplation about which motorcycle to buy, i finally went for white NS 200 Non ABS version. I bought it yesterday. My initial options were RTR 200 and R15 but i felt NS 200 was definitely better than rest of the two, so i went ahead with the vehicle. I bought it from Varun Bajaj, Kondapur, Hyderabad. I am very happy with the way the bike looks and handles.

But the thing which is bothering me a lot is the harshness of the engine and vibrations in the split handle bars. I can say the bike is nowhere close to smooth. The bike also seems to heat up very quickly like after some 20 min ride, and the radiator fan kicks in. I can feel a lot of heat from the engine near my legs and footpegs. Vibes are prominent right from 3000 rpm and they just don't seem to go away as the tachometer surges towards the redline. After a 30 min / 15 km ride, i found that the the idling RPM to be about 2300, which is on the higher side. Pick up is just OK, not so great. I feel the bike seems to run out of breath after some 5500 rpm. The max speed i have gone is about 65 kmph at around 5000 rpm. My odometer reading now is about 45 kms. The vibes are sometimes so bad that after about a 10 km ride, i am getting widespread tingling sensation all around my hands.

I request someone to please help me fix these gruesome vibes. Thank you.

Have u checked the oil & coolent level. Since its a new bike it is good to keep the speed to below 60kmph and rpm below 5k. When i rode my bike for the 1st 500km its was not smooth and also heating after a small ride but the radiator fan never turned on in that period. After the 1st service i noticed the difference....it was smooth and the sudden heating was resolved.
So i recommend u to be patient and don't do redline rpm and above 60kmpb speed till 2000 kms to complete its run in period. This will give u a longer engine life with less problems

I got my NS (1 month old) from that same showroom, I also had the same exact issues, after 1st servicing the RPM stays at 1500 no matter how long you ride, engine became smooth but not that much, also one more important thing!!!
Please check whether your bike pulls towards left when you leave the handle bar.
I already notified them, they tried something but it's still there.
If you have the same issue, tell them immediately and demand that they solve it immediately.

No the underbelly exhaust can go in upto 3 feet of water , check below YouTube link for a video by motorbeam for water testing NS200 . The ABS variant is available in the dealership

Congratulations on your new bike.

Heating in a Brand new bike is Common. Its because of all new components working together for first time.
it takes at least 1K kms to bead in. (Depends on how you ride too)
You are talking about red line on a brand new bike. I recommend you not to cross 4K rpm for the initial 1000 KMs. No matter what Manual says. This is very necessary to bead in the engine components at low RPM's.
Just think it like this. You can walk and talk at 2KMPH and you can still be comfortable. But if you try to walk and talk at 7KMPH, you will be exhausted in 2 mins. The same is the case, you let them work at lower RPM's. they just bead in correctly. If you rev them hard and expecting them to bead in, they do, but it has side effects.

Heating issues will go off at ~1.5K kms on odo. Gears will become much smoother and bike vibes go down. But, you have to take good care of her for the initial few thousands of Kms.
