    Welcome to Pulsar200NS

And How much extra did you have to pay for the number 4444??
@akash : after changing your shoes you would be more comfortable on the P200NS. Its around 400kms on the ODO

@Chintan : I believe the rain gods are jealous of you, since they can't get a ride on P200 NS. What the odo reading now?

@Rocket : mate, waiting for your side of the story.

@DDSouza & JK : i got the bike so its more frustrating just to see it parked

Actually pure black is not that good as old pulsars IMO. But other colors are good. I like red and yellow but I'll finalize only after I see them in flesh.
      Oh... okay.
      Am going with Blue.

            Even i am confused!!

I expected 200NS to be a rocket on road!! BUT INMO i guess it's gaining speed with slow stages.... I can be wrong here!! Becuase i suspect that bike was too not in good shape!!

A good NSian owner can only shed light here!! But still i see it's a nice deal with money!!

ns has got a very short stroke motor which means that you get more power higher up the rev band ... that is what sets it apart from p220 .. bajaj have made a sports bike kind of engine for ns unlike p220 . this motor likes revs .. and moreover , all three spark plugs work only after the midrange ( only one spark plug works below 5000rpm ) giving you the much needed performance at higher rpms...

              • First time saw the consumer own P200NS on the Pune Bangalore highway(Have seen 3 earlier when they were undergoing tests on the highways near Pune ) around 1.30pm today. A guy was riding with his girlfriend at the pillion (whole scene looked romantic ), wanted to know about the bike, but couldn't disturb him.
It was black monster, must have got delivered couple of days ago. Looked not very big from the front though it looks huge from the rear , really good looking naked street
                I believe I can fly...

                • I rode the bike over 200km in feb with wifey as pillion. The bike isn't exactly a rocket on road and it has to be worked to extract the juice out of it(Atleast the test mule i rode). Infact, for pure acceleration till 80ish speeds KTM is the way to go. That being said, the juice is higher up the rev range and boy- is the NS super stable in cornering. I took a particular corner on the old mumbai-pune highway at triple digit speeds which on a 220 i wouldn't dream of taking at 70plus.
If one is looking for streetfighter kinda credentials - KTM is a much better bet. But, if things like long hauls, pillion comfort, rock steady cornering ability and perceived better mileage with cheaper spares matter - this is it.
As an existing 220 owner - did i consider the NS when upgrading (eventually bought a CBR 250R) - Not at all.

this is a strange thing..is it true...? for the normal DTSi engines too?

is there a logic circuit to deactivate the secondary spark plug(or plugs in case of p200ns) till 5k rpm and then after than all spark plugs come into picture?

                        It is Wheel Balancing Weight.

220 is more of a torque machine and likes to be ridden with the torque at low-mid revs...whereas the 200ns is more of a short stroke motor with lesser torque and more dependent on the bhp... It needs to be revved like a typical sportsbike engine.... Both the engines are purposefully made like they are. No point argueing...

One needs to understand how these bikes are tuned. For most Indians the word "Pick up" means the intitial jerk/jump that the bike makes when twisting the throttle. Bikes like the Ninja 250R, R15 and the Pulsar 200NS develops its Peak Power and Peak Torque at a higher rpm, their Power and Torque is distributed from "low-mid-high" i.e entire rpm range.

The correct word here should be "acceleration".

The Pulsar 220 has great acceleration till around 6000 rpm.. but after that the acceleration tapers.. on bikes like the R15, Ninja 250R and Pulsar 200NS the acceleration will go on till the rpms enter the redline without any tapering of power and torque.

Ride both the P220 and the P200NS till 7000 rpm AND BEYOND to understand where those 23.5 bhp go.

                            Very well said.
                            Perfect explanation!!
