Upsizing is considered a modification, hence it voids warranty. Manual has a clause for modification which basically covers anything that is different from factory specs.

Hi.. I had taken it for 230kms ride once.. fe was around 55 I guess.. it was comfortably cruising btw 70 -80 kmph..Originally posted by ShantanuD View PostHas anyone here taken this bike out for a long ride? Say more than a 100 kms on a highway? How does bike behave when ridden constantly above 70kph. What becomes of fuel efficiency. How was riding comfort? Is this bike even worthy of a road trip? Or am I asking too much from a commuter bike? :P
I once took out my bike for about a 70km ride on highway. But bike was only ~1800km old. It really begged when I would touch it to 70kph. So I couldn't enjoy the ride that much. Now that it's past 2 servicings and 4000km, I hope highway performance will be way better.
please share your exeriences.

Thanks bro!!.. Will take care of this point.Originally posted by alliwanted View PostHi bro. Its a big issue. When the bike is kept idle for more than a day, it happens. If you dont take care of this thing it may harm you more.
Try warming up first and then put it in 1st gear.
It happened with me too but a xbhpian helped me.

Yeah. I tried with low speeds but I'm still getting the same mileage of 52 kmpl. The bike has run 6,100 km and is due for 4th service. Will let you know if there is any change in FE after the 4th serviceOriginally posted by dexterkarthik View Postcould you please try reducing the avg speed to 60kmph for a litre and then 50kmph for another litre and check the mileage? [preferably fill fuel from Shell and test]

FOOD FOR THOUGHT - is it possible to fit the chain case of 100T in 125ST? both being built on the same chassis and considering the benefits of a chain cover in our road and surrounding environment. Would be great if someone can have atleast the service centre people try for a few minutes.

Hello guys, me the newest member on the block! Bought ma discover 125T on monday! am aware this is blog for 125ST! but still, 125T is a cousin or a stepbrother of 125ST!
Bike is handling very well, me bought the black with blue decals and it does look great! There is not much difference between the ST and T except a slightly lower power, gear shift pattern, rear shocks, seat height and seat length! Have done around 150 kms, no major issues! however there are a few queries.
1.My bike's throttle cable is loose! there is a slack of about 2-3 cms on the cable! which means i have to rotate the throttle more to just start moving the bike! can and should it be adjusted???
2.The bike's idle speed seems to be on low to very low! am surprised that the idle speed is this low for a brand new bike! wont it harm the engine during the running in??? should i adjust the screw??? if yes, how can i do it without the tachometer???
This is a pic of my bike's throttle cable! as you can see, the is a considerable slack in the cable! i have to rotate almost 1/4th of the trottle wihout for no reason!
i used to have a gs150r which i sold just a few weeks back.i dint notice these issues in that! of course i could adjust the idle speed in that but there was tachometer so it was easy! need you insight guys!

1 . Answer is in the pic you uploaded
There is a hollow bolt from which the cable is connected to carburetor just loose it as per your choice but keep at least 1 cm throttle play
2 . Adjust idling in such a way that engine doesn't stall at all that is free revinng
Most probably when engine is not so hot

re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey guys,
I removed some of the stickers from my bike. This bike has a great design. However, those too many stickers were giving me an eyesore. Tank has awesome muscular shape, but it gets bogged down by overdone graphics. Even tail portion and side panels are great but same thing there too. So I had enough and tore those extra graphics.
Here are the pics. Let me know how you think of this look,

An update from my ownership of new Disco 125T. bought the bike on last monday (almost a week bak
). Today took it for a short long trip of about 150 kms! went to a local hill station called ponmudi (Kerala) with a above average weighted pillion. Bike handled pretty decent in the normal roads but when i started to climb the hill, the bike's power shortage was very much felt! bajaj claims a 30% more power but i failed to notice even the ordinary 125cc power when i made the climb! The bike couldnt go beyond 1st gear in slopes. Of cource i didnt expect my disco to pull like my old gs150r but still, it was a bit disappointing for me as my friend climbed with a twister(110cc) in 3rd and 2nd gear (he too had a same weighing pillion). So power of the bike is not on the good side! Braking was good, always had control while i was returning from the top of the hill. Headlights were very immpressive but instrument lights (neutral,blinkers...) really is of no use if you travel in day time! gears shifts were pretty good although you will have a hard time shifting from top gear to 1st or 2nd gear when the bike has to be stopped suddenly! The bike handles pretty well and feels very light indeed! my bike was equipped with the stock eurogrip tires, which i found was good in dry roads! regarding the mileage, i haven't calculated it since my bike is still in the running in period! Comfort was very good as well!
From this trip i have to say that disco125T is pretty decent when it comes to normal city and highway conditions but if the roads were challenging (like steep hills etc) then Disco125T lags behind! anyways, i loved the bike when in the normal conditions! These are my views about the new Disco125T!
P.S.your bike looks good ShantanuD

re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
My 125ST completes 6000 kms today.
Fuel: IndianOil Regular
Lifetime FE: 57kmpl
Highest FE: 67kmpl
Max. speed: 80kmph today
Avg. riding at 40-60kmph
My bike had oil stains on both sides near the oil filter and gears. After washing it yesterday, I noticed that the oil filler cap was not tightened during last service. I manually tightened one and half turns with just 2 fingers.
Planning a DIY service at 6600kms and shifting to Motul 5100 15W50.
One thing I have noticed is the tiny rust spots at several areas on the swingarm, side stand etc. Never had that issue in my Caliber 115.
Black paint on the engine is also beginning to peel off in some areas.
Braking has improved with time, still running stock tyres.Better late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.

re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I would suggest you go gentle on your bike as it is very new. Engine is just a week old. A proper engine break-in takes at least a month or two or about 1000 kms at least. A fresh engine has a lot of sharp parts. So most of the energy is wasted in friction, so engine makes more vibrations, heats up more in this time. All this leads to apparently lower power generation. As you slowly train your engine for various kinds of load, engine parts get mated to each other. Hard edges soften, reducing friction, thereby generating peak power.Originally posted by Ganesh Ganu View PostAn update from my ownership of new Disco 125T. bought the bike on last monday (almost a week bak

I recommend you wait some time. Even my bike showed similar symptoms initially. Today I have ridden about 4000 kms. Acceleration has improved, vibrations have reduced considerably, mileage is about 55-60 and apparently engine pulls strongly than before.
However, there is this issue of low pulling power from 125 ST's engine at low rpms. I had similar query here on xbhp, as I was doubting whether this 13 bhp power deliver true or not. There a fellow rider explained beautifully. So here goes.
125 ST generates 13 bhp @ 9000 rpms. It means max power delivery is achieved at very high engine speed. Other bikes generate their peak power output at around 6000-7000 rpm. Which means to squeeze out strong pulling power you will have to rev the engine hard. Also torque figure of this engine is very low. Only 10 NM. Generally it is seen bike's torque figure is almost nearing power figure. If power is 15bhp then torque is 13-13.5 NM or something like that.
I agree that there is lack of strong pulling power. Whenever I am carrying a pillion rider and then climb even on a flyover bridge which is very less steep, bike refuses to accelerate quickly even after twisting the throttle hard. One is able to maintain the speed on steep gradient but there is no question of acceleration. However, after you cross a certain rpm engine will pull strongly. On a plain road, engine pulls fantastically. I managed to pull from 40 kph to 80 kph carrying a heavy pillion rider, under 15 seconds or so.
All this points to the fact that power delivery from ST's engine is not linear. After a certain rpm power delivery rises sharply. This is why you might notice that bike vibrates at the speeds of 40-50 kpm. Then after 60 kph vibrations are gone, because then engine enters it's power band and load also seems to drop. It would have been easier to understand if bajaj would have given a freakin tachometer. An act of sheer cost cutting.
Braking is simply awesome. I am able to stop from 60 to stand-still under 5 seconds, without making even a slightest skidding sound. Hats off to bajaj for this one.
So my friend, don't worry about the bike. Just give it some time. for next 1000 kms don't hit top speed or so. Don't go beyond 60-70 kph. Don't ride in high rpm constantly. You WILL see an amazing improvement over time. You will discover your discover even more.

. And you are right, the power delivery comes in a high rpm! being a new bike i shifted gears in quick succession at lower rpm ( below 5000!)! which may be the reason why my bike's power was quite low when i went uphill
! I havent gone beyond 50 kmph till now! Trying to be as delicate as i can with my bike! haven't gone beyond 4000-4500 rpm(i think so)
! i have reached 350kms in odo! also, i didnt find the engine heat to be more. it was like a regular bike only, no excess heat is produced till now! my bike does pull strongly at low rpm in slight elevations(my opinion
), its having a problem only in high elevated roads! Love the bike in normal roads
! but thanks for a very informative explanation. Happy motoring!

re: Bajaj Discover 125 Owners Reviews and Experiences
I noticed this very slight oily discharge last night. Bike is run in properly and I dont have any other issues. Next service is due in a month.
Not too keen on going to the svc since cant trust them at all. In last service, they forgot to tighten the lid after filling oil.
Any suggestions? Just living with it for nowBetter late by 30 minutes than early by 30 years.
