      • My girl's been on w50 ever since i can rem,the only time i've used w40 was to do the run in after the big bore conversion.
The present oil MOTUL 3000 4T Plus 15W50 is very good it feels as good as the semi synthetic.
From what i've seen, the best oils according to me available in india are from MOTUL and YAMALUBE.These are also(nationally and internationally) used on SBK's ,so how bad can they be?

My girl needs W50 because of over square nature of her and besides W50 is helpful for any bike which spends most of it's time on congested metro roads.

True that, After using both the oils to the fullest, I completely agree with you that Gulf is tad more better than Motul specially when it comes to Smoothness, Gear changing & High Spreed cruising ability

Gixxer - You can try the Gulf Pride 4t next time around & see, Although Motul is international brand & very renowned oil, Gulf scores brownie points a tad better in all the things as I mentioned above, Ofcourse I am comparing both wrt W40 Grade

Was at the lathe yesterday where the 200 conversion was done,to inquire about carb porting and while there i confirmed the compatibility of p220 piston with the ZMA bore. They were saying,if the bore's new ,then it might take the piston ,otherwise a liner needs to be put on it to be on the safer side and to keep the option of going for a next size piston on subsequent re-bores.

I read on another site that the unicorn's stock carb is 24mm one.I am wondering as to how such a small venturi was capable of taking a 115 main jet, because according to calculations of venturi size to main jet relation, the fiero carb can take a 106 main jet and hence i think RTR160 has a 105 main. Not just your bike, even a few other 26mm carb'd bikes had bigger main jets.

Thanks a ton for the clarification....The stock ZMA being 65.5 is much less than the P220 67mm..so it is actually 5th oversize, which is quite possible..which is what the lathe guys have clarified..because if the bore is already at its max of 4th ie., 66.5 it may not accept the 67....simple reason ..no body in right mind normally goes for these overbores and conversions and most of what the lathe people do are for making the bike run rather than higher performance.....Of course some like you ,will be looking up ways to improve the bike and so the answer was for somebody else(me) ....
The max CC with overbored sleeve and crank case alteration for ZMA is 250cc.

Sorry, this highlights the point i was making with Abhi and Sarvajit the other day.If we limit the talk to just the tech stuff and avoid mixing it with the 2 legged SBK's/humor .With just 2 or 3 guys at most checking this thread and adding another couple of fiero owners to the list, this thread will be dead within 2 days.

Bro,there are lots of options for fiero front mudguard.

                        1. Yamaha YBX,Gladiator
                        2. CBZ classic
                        3. Pulsar all generations including the 17 inch wheel ones CT100(cheapest),Calibber.
                        ================================================== ==

Thanks bros Gixxer, Nano for your inputs... I guess CBZ classic mudguard will probably suit fiero the best.

Looks like things do seem rather quiet in this thread. Or the Fiero problems are so few that no one has anything to discuss.

I am facing a small issue guys... The bike does not rev or rather the throttle response has gone down. When I yank the throttle, the bike is slow to move forward and does not achieve full speed. It also feels like it's been drinking more fuel and the pulling power specially in uphill climbs has gone down. please shed some light here guys. Clutch plates are new, oil is new. I have posted a picture of my spark plug.

                        • hello everybody.

Sorry PSR and others to stay away from the forum for quite some days as i was too busy preparing for my exam.
i just reached home from my examination hall, as the paper finished at 11:30

now until almost next month i have loads to talk.

it was sad to see that the forum was left vacant for 3 days.

besides, 1 more thing that i want to highlight is the CLUTCH.
if you guys remember last time i spoke to gix about the clutch slippage problem, and i also mentioned that I've changed my clutch plates/pressure 3-4 times so far.

very recently i rode a classic Suzuki fiero for some days in a row, it still felt the same clutch slippage thing.
there was this another classic fiero at my mech's place with the forward baized clutch cable mod, i ripped it a bit and again the clutch slippage.

my mech says that i use the clutch a bit too much then necessary.

I do agree to that, but if that's the case they why don't i feel that problem when i ride a Karizma, or a pulsar, or even a splendor ??

now let me highlight another point, maybe i am wrong, but i think that the fiero clutch cannot take too much of load, as before going with the 180 bore kit, i had this problem of KHAAT sound sometimes from the clutch bell when i leave the clutch very slowly with higher acceleration (keeping the front wheel on the ground), but when a wheelie is tried, nothing of that sort happens (i hope you guys are getting what i mean).

I had discussed this with many people so far, to learn something and to give my inputs about this bike to those who needs to know.
Its strange i didn't highlight this here.

A friend of mine told me that a forward baized clutch cable will stop this from happening, but last time i tried, it still happened with a forward baized clutch cable.

Can a hydraulic clutch be a solution ??
                          will it really help ??

                          NOTE:-
I tried this with 3 different fiero's in a row, and all had the same thing in common.

besides, 1 more highlight is that after my 180 bore, that KHATT sound coming from the bell is completely gone, but slippage is still there.

maybe i am too rough with the clutch, but there has to be a solution as the bike is racing breed.

                          @ chief

Your plug is perfect, and since the plates are new, i don't think that could be a reason.
A compression leak can be a culprit here.
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

your spark plug has black dry deposits indicating rich AFR...how is your Air filter ? clean it ,....and change it if it is old or clogged

If the clutch plates are slipping a hydraulic clutch actuator is not the solution

If the plates are worn out due to sudden accelerations then it needs to be changed.Check for weak clutch springs, or you may try going for stronger springs to stop clutch slip...
