Great to see the thread active again.
One more update from my side.
We got a new two wheeler in my family, but it's not my touring upgrade.
Just a Yamaha Ray Z scooter for sister.

My touring upgrade got postponed due to the car purchase (i10 1.2 Sports).

Get your bike to bangalore me and Abhi will help you turn it into a 180.His bike is perfectly fine, yet he's getting it souped up. The stock engine keeps going on and on.even without oil on one occasion. He has finally given up being patient! Conratulations on the scoot purchase,i hope you haven't been converted to one!

              Guys
Finally I joined the club of fiero 180 with the help of all specially gixxer & psr. The plan was to put rtr 180 bore & modify fiero head but at the mid way lathe guys suggested us not to go for it since compression will be too much & it is best to go for rtr 180 head itself which will be best package. My crankshaft had little play which we were resetting done from lathe so my mech suggested to go for used rtr 180 head which we could source from lathe itself at 1/3rd of original cost & my mech worked on the bike for last 3 days assembling the engine & delivered it today.

I am running stock car with stock pilot jet & rtr 160 main jet which is 105. For the run in bike is made rich & my mech has asked me to keep speeds with in 50kmph for first 500kms & then will tune the carb for optimum performance & mileage.

Me & an and went two up on the bike & it revs beautifuly without any missing &reached 6okmph without any stress. Consider that is me 75kgs & anand @90kgs on weighing scale. The bike feels very eager & takes very little effort to reach same speeds than stock.

The overall cost 10k considering all direct & indirect costs.

The bike feels more hotter than stock don't know if it's normal. Need to change plug & check how's the bike running even at rich setting on stock carb.

Once again thanks to all of you to helping me in upgrading the fiero In rtr way.

My advice would be to try and find Suzuki Zeus 125\\\\\\\'s front wheel hub. This bike\\\\\\\'s speedo worms were fitted to fiero/f2,so they should be compatible with your bike\\\\\\\'s front wheel. There are also other alternatives like classic unicorn, classic pulsar, yamaha rxz etc.

I\\\\\\\'m no \\\\\\\'tuner\\\\\\\',it\\\\\\\'s more to do with trial and errors done on my bike with the help of a good mech named satish.Like in the case of modifying and fitting RTR clutch to our rides.Which is different to the way it\\\\\\\'s normally done by other mech.Me and Shred,a fellow fiero owner put our heads together along with the mech to find a decent enough a solution. But mainly this mech, satish, who owns a modest looking garage,he is a brilliant guy and he has been trained by TVS when he used to work at a TVS dealership.
The actual credit should go to formerly ZEN TVS,Mr Murthy,Mr Venugopal and TVS R&D\\\\\\\'s Mr Srinivas, because these modifications were old-hats to them.

Coming to Abhi\\\\\\\'s bike,as i had mentioned before,it was perfectly fine in stock form and when we saw the bore it surely pleasently surprised us. The stock bore is still as good as new!Which shows how good the quality is.
Connected to the quality of TVS parts/engneering,i should here mention another thing which we were pleasantly surprised with, when we opened Shred\\\\\\\'s modified fiero a few months back at the same mech\\\\\\\'s place. Shred had bought RTR head and bore from the used market and had taken the same to a famous mech here named Rajesh,i might as well add here that i was the one who recommended this mech to him and he had fitted it.When Shreeedatta came to me, after he had gotten another modification done at another mech known to him when installing the rtr clutch on his fiero and it had developed problems. So i thought ,i might as well get the RTR clutch mod done on my bike as well ,while shred was getting it checked at satish\\\\\\\'s garage on my recommendation. So me and shred opened the cluth at the garage to find that the mod had gone wrong and we needed to find a different way from what shred had gotten it done.Shred\\\\\\\'s mech had gotten a round hole drilled deep into the input shaft and this had worn out the clutch release butten itself! Which we found out when we opened the clutch assembly. As we didn\\\\\\\'t want to go the TVS way either, which needed the input shaft to be drilled to put a deep \\\\\\\'D\\\\\\\' shaped hole, which meant weakening the tempering of our stock input shafts. As we didn\\\\\\\'t want to open the crank case either to fit a RTR input shaft,we thought of doing it in a different way and it\\\\\\\'s been working since then.So coming back to the point i was making with regard to the good quality of tvs parts.Shred had been riding with the RTR bore and head for about 15,000 kms and he had been complaining of engine heating up,which we had not given much thought to till now.So when the mech satish opened the head to investigate the rocker arm noise.I had told shred, when he had came to me complaining about the noise ,that it was a worn out rocker arm roller,so satish opened the head and what we found out shocked us!!
Shred ,as said before, had bought the used RTR head and bore and taken it to rajesh and he had installed it.But the thing he had missed out, assuming he wasn\\\\\\\'t aware of it,which shows his carelesness,or whether he did it delibrately as he was pissed off at shred for not buying used RTR head and bore from him,we can only guess at the reason. But the crucial thing here is,the used dealers had sold the RTR head by installing pulsar\\\\\\\'s rocker arm shafts!! As a consequence of it,as well as carelelessness on Rajesh\\\\\\\'s part,THE BIKE HAD BEEN RUNNING WITHOUT ANY OIL BEING SENT TO THE HEAD! That too for close to 15,000 kms! Which also included shred going to his hometown twice, which needed him to ride it for over 400 kms each way!!

To ours and mech satish\\\\\\\'s astonishment, the cam shaft was perfectly fine, but a bit discolored! The rocker arm shafts of the pulsar, which were the reason for all these things had worn out a bit!! and the head otherwise was perfectly fine!! except for a rocker arm, whose roller had developed play!obviously due to lack of oil!! The mech satish\\\\\\\'s former assistant,Murugesh who is now a ZMR technician at a hero dealership,he was also present at that time and he was also shocked to see that the engine had been performing perfectly without any hitches, albeit the noice from the worn out rocker arm! Both the mech\\\\\\\'s were shocked beyond words, that the engine was still working and the head\\\\\\\'\\\\\\\'s parts had survived without any oil.I mean the head was literally as dry as it can ever be!The cam shaft was perfectly fine along with the bearings!
This wasn\\\\\\\'t the end of it either! When satish noticed the oil pump,he found out that the other mech of shred\\\\\\\'s who had installed the RTR clutch mod,had forgotten to install the pin to the oil-pump\\\\\\\'s shaft! Which had resulted in the oil-pump not functioning at all!!! Meaning ,since the botched up clutch mod had been done, even the crankshaft, bearings and gears which get sprayed with oil in a fiero/rtr engine had not gotten any oil!! So the engine had been running on nothing more than the splashing of oil from crankshaft/gears! and a few droplets of oil spat out by the cam chain onto the head, which would burn up into ashes,as soon as engine heated up!! This shows how good this engine really is. Satish replaced the pulsar rocker arm shafts,WHICH LACK HOLES in them TO LUBRICATE THE ROCKERS and from which further on the oil goes to head, which was the main reason head was starved of oil for 15,000 kms
He installed RTR rocker arm shafts and we then modified and installed the RTR clutch assembly on both our fieros.Yesterday we were told by satish, when me and abhi were there to pick up abhi\\\\\\\'s bike that Shred\\\\\\\'s fiero might need a head re-set,as we hadn\\\\\\\'t gotten it done when we had opened the head last time. Still this goes on to show how rugged fiero/rtr platform is and also the benefits of having roller rocker arms.

Abhi is lucky to get a newish RTR180 head and while i was there at the mech\\\\\\\'s the day prior to the engine was to be re-built,Satish told me that he will install RTR rocker arm shafts instead of the fiero ones.He had done the same when my bike was installed with the rtr head and bore as well. The lathe from which i had bought the head back then and also from where satish had procured abhi\\\\\\\'s bike\\\\\\\'s RTR head. Both the times the lathe guy had told us that fiero rocker arms would suffice and in abhi\\\\\\\'s case the head had came with pulsar rocker arm shafts! I must add here that when Shred had gone to the used parts dealer,he had seen them reomove the head and bore from a RTR engine right in front of his eyes.So he was convinced that it was almost new and complete, when he was told about the same by the used parts dealer. So it remains to be seen how \\\\\\\'new\\\\\\\' the parts were in case of shred\\\\\\\'s and ONLY TIME WILL TELL.From this it was obvious that the used parts dealers assemble a whole engine from parts of different bikes,to make it seem to the buyer that he is getting it from a complete engine. These used parts dealers know a few things about engines in general and as to how other manufacturer\\\\\\\'s bike\\\\\\\'s parts can be used. But they lack the knowledge as to what an oil circuit of an engine is!! Me and shred learnt about this from Satish the mech.Though fiero\\\\\\\'s rocker arm shafts also have holes in them to be a part of the oil circuit, satish had insisted that i install the RTR ones when i had gotten the engine mod done as he knew there are some milimeter differences between the both and the lathe guys were totally unaware of the difference such things can make.

Mr.Anand ...Thanks for the detailed write up ..liked reading it for it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s technical content and the descriptions...

Suzuki somehow seem to have lost the way in bringing good 180~300cc engines into India.....I rode the Inazuma for some time, and was impressed by engine smoothness, power and the build quality...in fact the build is far superior to many bikes in it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s segment and is built to last...The bike has such good weight balance I could not feel the increased weight and handled like a 150cc ...Sad to hear that it is going to be stopped...

Wish you Long years of mods and help to other members.
                    Good Luck

Thanks PSRGixxer is right. I made it very clear to mech that I need it to be Bullet proof even if it meant compromise on little bit of power. The Mech went step ahead & replaced all neccesary parts in the Head just to make sure thier won\'t be any Issues due to it.By the way Other day Gixxer took it two up & Revved it till 60kmph & it had lot of juice left in. In my Opinion it had touched 80kmph if not 90kmph, Since it is still in Run in Gixxer didnt take the chance. Also as Gixxer said the Stock bore is still wonderful & would run as long as it can. Its only I got bored of 150cc & wanted this big bore.By the way guys the stock fiero bore & Head is up for Sale. I am sure their are many who would want a stock fiero bore & head. So you know whom to contact if you are in need.Be Rest assured that both bore & head are in Great condition & can take a lot of beating.Update on my bikeDue to compression Increase I need to get used to kicker, In stock with just half kick I used to start but now need full kick & has to be certain about the angle I kick it, if not it backfiresIt has been 50kms & 2 days, the commute to office is Small Galli Roads with lots of Humps so I havent been able to fully Test the bike also dont want to take beyond 60kmph until 500kms so need to Wait for some more time to test its full potential.Bought a Bosch twin electrode Spark plug, need to change & keep track of my Carb tuning.

To ours and mech satish\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s astonishment, the cam shaft was perfectly fine, but a bit discolored! The rocker arm shafts of the pulsar, which were the reason for all these things had worn out a bit!! and the head otherwise was perfectly fine!! except for a rocker arm, whose roller had developed play!obviously due to lack of oil!! The mech satish\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s former assistant,Murugesh who is now a ZMR technician at a hero dealership,he was also present at that time and he was also shocked to see that the engine had been performing perfectly without any hitches, albeit the noice from the worn out rocker arm! Both the mech\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s were shocked beyond words, that the engine was still working and the head\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s parts had survived without any oil.I mean the head was literally as dry as it can ever be!The cam shaft was perfectly fine along with the bearings! This wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t the end of it either! When satish noticed the oil pump,he found out that the other mech of shred\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s who had installed the RTR clutch mod,had forgotten to install the pin to the oil-pump\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s shaft! Satish replaced the pulsar rocker arm shafts,WHICH LACK HOLES in them TO LUBRICATE THE ROCKERS and from which further on the oil goes to head, which was the main reason head was starved of oil for 15,000 kms He installed RTR rocker arm shafts and we then modified and installed the RTR clutch assembly on both our fieros.Yesterday we were told by satish, when me and abhi were there to pick up abhi\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s bike that Shred\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s fiero might need a head re-set,as we hadn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t gotten it done when we had opened the head last time. Still this goes on to show how rugged fiero/rtr platform is and also the benefits of having roller rocker arms. Abhi is lucky to get a newish RTR180 head and while i was there at the mech\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s the day prior to the engine was to be re-built,Satish told me that he will install RTR rocker arm shafts instead of the fiero ones.He had done the same when my bike was installed with the rtr head and bore as well. The lathe from which i had bought the head back then and also from where satish had procured abhi\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s bike\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s RTR head. Both the times the lathe guy had told us that fiero rocker arms would suffice and in abhi\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s case the head had came with pulsar rocker arm shafts! I must add here that when Shred had gone to the used parts dealer,he had seen them reomove the head and bore from a RTR engine right in front of his eyes.So he was convinced that it was almost new and complete, when he was told about the same by the used parts dealer. So it remains to be seen how \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'new\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\' the parts were in case of shred\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s and ONLY TIME WILL TELL.From this it was obvious that the used parts dealers assemble a whole engine from parts of different bikes,to make it seem to the buyer that he is getting it from a complete engine. These used parts dealers know a few things about engines in general and as to how other manufacturer\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s bike\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s parts can be used. But they lack the knowledge as to what an oil circuit of an engine is!! Me and shred learnt about this from Satish the mech.Though fiero\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s rocker arm shafts also have holes in them to be a part of the oil circuit, satish had insisted that i install the RTR ones when i had gotten the engine mod done as he knew there are some milimeter differences between the both and the lathe guys were totally unaware of the difference such things can make.

Thanks PSR .Gixxer is right. I made it very clear to mech that I need it to be Bullet proof even if it meant compromise on little bit of power. The Mech went step ahead & replaced all neccesary parts in the Head just to make sure thier won\\\'t be any Issues due to it.By the way Other day Gixxer took it two up & Revved it till 60kmph & it had lot of juice left in.

The actual credit should go to formerly ZEN TVS,Mr Murthy,Mr Venugopal and TVS R&D\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s Mr Srinivas, because these modifications were old-hats to them. Coming to Abhi\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s bike,as i had mentioned before,it was perfectly fine in stock form and when we saw the bore it surely pleasently surprised us. The stock bore is still as good as new!Which shows how good the quality is. Connected to the quality of TVS parts/engneering,i should here mention another thing which we were pleasantly surprised with, when we opened Shred\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s modified fiero a few months back at the same mech\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s place. So i thought ,i might as well get the RTR clutch mod done on my bike as well ,while shred was getting it checked at satish\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s garage on my recommendation. So me and shred opened the cluth at the garage to find that the mod had gone wrong and we needed to find a different way from what shred had gotten it done.Shred\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s mech had gotten a round hole drilled deep into the input shaft and this had worn out the clutch release butten itself! Which we found out when we opened the clutch assembly. As we didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t want to go the TVS way either, which needed the input shaft to be drilled to put a deep \\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'D\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\ \\\\\\\\\\\\\\' shaped hole, which meant weakening the tempering of our stock input shafts. As we didn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t want to open the crank case either to fit a RTR input shaft,we thought of doing it in a different way and it\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s been working since then.So coming back to the point i was making with regard to the good quality of tvs parts.Shred had been riding with the RTR bore and head for about 15,000 kms and he had been complaining of engine heating up,which we had not given much thought to till now.So when the mech satish opened the head to investigate the rocker arm noise.I had told shred, when he had came to me complaining about the noise ,that it was a worn out rocker arm roller,so satish opened the head and what we found out shocked us!! Shred ,as said before, had bought the used RTR head and bore and taken it to rajesh and he had installed it.But the thing he had missed out, assuming he wasn\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'t aware of it,which shows his carelesness,or whether he did it delibrately as he was pissed off at shred for not buying used RTR head and bore from him,we can only guess at the reason. But the crucial thing here is,the used dealers had sold the RTR head by installing pulsar\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s rocker arm shafts!! As a consequence of it,as well as carelelessness on Rajesh\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s part,THE BIKE HAD BEEN RUNNING WITHOUT ANY OIL BEING SENT TO THE HEAD! That too for close to 15,000 kms! I have been using it since 2008.. No issues till now, whatsoever.. Great linear acceleration which is difficult to be seen in the bikes of this gen..

Linear acceleration or smooth ride is just one side of the coin. This bike has split personality! Just explore the beast in it!
