Hello Sriram..The disc ,and hub of Fiero is different from that of Apache 150,which is the fore runner of the RTR.
The RTR is totally different from APACHE in Hub, Disc and Rotor size and fitting....so it is better to go for the RTR Hub+disc+Caliper+lower fork leg..This will avoid a lot of adjustment and alignment work, and replacement of any of the parts after a few Years will be easy.....just my thought.

Got confirmation,RTR disc wont fit the pulsar hub ,but it will fit the fiero f2 hub as you said and it's not in stock.

      • @psr dude i dont think that the tightening of the chain indicates sproket wear. in my case, the problem had cropped up even when i put in new sproket(rear) and chain. u need to change them together. you cant put a new chain onto the old rear sproket and vice-versa. but i m not sure if its the same with the front sproket.

Why I wanted to go for Fiero 2 hub+adaptor is that, they came with spokes and the wheel base is 18" which of the same as RX. RTR might not be suitable for RX, reason? RTRs comes with alloys and their wheel base is 17". This would result in going for RTR fork assembly and followed by hub, adaptor, disc assembly etc. I would refrain changing the composition of the bike.

I'm aware that we cannot make Pulsar's hub with RTR's disc work or vice versa. That's the reason I wanted to go for Fiero 2 hub + adapter so that it is compatible with RTR disc.

I wanted to try out the option of Fiero 2/RTR before hitting the bottom - Pulsar's disc option.

I only hope that this thread would have some source to find me a Fiero 2 hub + adapter for me.

Thanks for checking with your source. My hunt will continue.

@All - If anyone could help me sourcing Fiero 2 + adapter, please let me know.

Yes you can't just change either of the sprockets or just the chain alone and hope to solve the problem. The Rear ,Front Sprockets and the chain all make a homogeneous drive train. When one goes out it takes the others also. What I suggested was to find out what was making the clicking sound in the bike...and not the solution..which comes after the diagnosis.

The Classic Pulsars and CBZ came with spoke wheels, disc brake and 18''. I think a walk through Pudupet may help .Measure the RX fork tube dia and length and search in Pudupet for the old Pulsar or CBZ equivalent. I think even Bajaj model WIND came with spoke wheel 18" and disc brake.

Thanks PSR for the pointers. I have already mentioned that Pulsar option is always open if I'm not able to succeed RTR option.
Going for the used parts in Pudupet is a different story, when I have everything on my RX resurrected, don't think it would be good if some used parts are put on. This is my personal opinion. If Fiero 2 hub sourcing is going to be tough, would rather go for Pulsar set up (completely new one) before thinking about plonking a used one of any other.

OK..I understand...fitting new parts will make them last for a long time...and will be reliable

                  • hey Guyz, just changed the engine oil with the TVS True4, and the grade of that oil is 10w40. so is it mineral oil or semi synthetic. i asked the manager, but he had no idea about the grade.

But this time i didnt change the oil filter(which i always change whenever i change the oil). so is it ok if i run my bike with the old oil filter for like 2.5k?

                    • also guyz can suggest me an engine oil of any make, or any grade which would last comfortably for 5000kms??? i have heard about motul, agip etc etc!!

Thanks guys for your valuable inputs.

The thing is that my chain sprockets (the whole drive train) is very new (the first replacement from stock) - just a bit more than two months - so being worn out is out of the question . I pointed out before that the new chain gets loosened rather quickly and needs constant adjustments (every two weeks or so). The stock ones, as far as I know were only adjusted during regular servicings. So over-tightened chain might be the culprit here in my case... or it could be the case of a slack one. I guess I will have to visit the mech ... do the necessary checks and readjust as required.

                        Thanks guys!

                        • @chief dude remember one thing, Fiero chains NEVER become loose, like other bikes. insted, they become TIGHT i.e. no slackness at all!!

I have been using Gulf Pride 4T Plus for a while and it seems quite good.

Ok.so that means no sprocket or chain problems...do you lubricate the chain before it becomes dry ? I think you may be revving a bit hard with load which is likely to stretch the chain. In my KB initially I faced chain sprocket wear out problems...then I increased the final drive ratio....from 42/14 to 42/15..now the chain and sprocket last longer without adjustment for upto 2 or 3 K Kms...the life of the set is also now 28 to 30 K kms.

Wow!!! that is a valuable piece of info...

the chain is well lubricated. how do we go about increasing the drive ratio? I have no idea. About revving with heavy loads, I often do that and you are probably right about the chain stretch thingy. It would be great if I got to do minor adjustments every 3 K kms ... as in every regular service visits.
