They had taken the corner entry and exit speeds also,it was first done by the OVERDRIVE tester Aspi Bathena and the best times were set by the racers later.Once again on stock bikes used by OVERDRIVE.

The track's straights are short,so a stock Fiero will hit more than 118 kmph on longer stretches and actual speeds not speedo indicated ones.
You still trust magazines. In my entire STOCK ownership of the Fiero I dont think it has done more than a true 110, a stock Fiero fizzles out after 85, it is so slow after that, I mean it takes ages to cross 100.

Then in all probability your bike's a dud.Which do you trust? the numbers spat out by the testing machine ,on a machine set up to stock condition ridden by pro racers? or the ones you saw on your speedo?

Obviously the machines I have tested, most of the Fiero's that I have tested. I don't rely on what the magazines put up.... I trust what I ride, not what I read.

Then that's your best and not necessarily the best of the machine.

This is getting more into an argument, you speak as if you tested your bike with a speed gun. Stop quoting the magazines magaa.

              • stay away from this thread for a day, and you guys reach 3 pages !!!

I've ridden a stock suzuki fiero and a stock TVS fiero F2 back to back..

in every gear the F2 seems to be a low end torque biased machine.
as the tacho was absent in the fiero, couldn't judge the rpms but it seemed to be a bit higher than the F2.

the first thing you'll notice after riding these bikes back to back is that the F2 is heavier that the classic fiero, hence throwing around a classic fiero is much easier, specially if your used to an F2.
even i feel that the classic fiero runs faster than the F2 as far as the top end goes.

i personally think it has to do with the stupid rev limiter of the F2 cutting out at 7.5k
but classic fiero seems a bit unstable and speed wobble prone due to an old school swing arm.
                whereas F2 doesn't.

either way, both the bike are the same.
if a classic fiero rider rides the F2 or vice versa, only then these things will come to light.

                @ psr

you shouldn't thank us infact i personally am very thankful to you and others to help me and to make this thread what it is..
Giving a lot to a fiero.
Expecting a lot from a fiero.

That is why putting a smaller tyre will not suit.
However, the mileage&accelaration both must have taken a hit due to the heavy rim.

Though the engines are similar, there are a lot of changes made for the F2. Fiero puts out its peak power at 7.5K RPM, whereas F2 does it at 7K RPM. The exhaust note, engine refinement at lower speeds etc.all are different for the two. Gixxer says Fiero can do 118kmph in stock form. I have never seen my F2 going beyond 110kmph even when it was new!
As for the oil, it is the first time I'm trying out this Tru4Premium semi synth oil. Till now I have been using 20w40 mineral Tru4.

Ok, make your choice when the time comes! Button type in Michelin will be the lightest, followed by MRF, Dunlop and finally Ceat. I feel its better you rule out Ceat, as they are really heavy. As it is you are running a heavier rim&a bigger tyre size. Accelaration has already gone down. If I were in your place, I would get the stock rim, put a 3.00 tyre&enjoy the bike lifting up every now&then!

I have discussed this with GoGreen also-I think the tread pattern is the culprit here which gives an impression of uneven wear. Moreover, it doesn't even have a central groove unlike the M35.
Too early to tell in my case. If it is not good, I will go for the M35 next time!
Lets see, i dont want to Invest again on a new rim for 3.00x18, so I will better stick to 100/90-18.

Coming to top speed, I could only manage 115kmph on speedo on a 14t front sprocket, but crusing 85kmph is easy with 14t front sprocket

                    • I have a classic 2001 Suzuki Fiero and on one occasion, I have touched 115 with a 70 kilo pilion + a heavy bag strapped to his back. Second time I touched 110... the good road came to an end and there were heavy lorries comming my way... had to slow down. Don't want to try high speeds until I find a good empty stretch of road. I prefer good torque, fast pick-up and solid mid range ... with the capability to do 100 plus with ease and without the engine feeling burdened.

I think the Suzuki Fiero is more powerful, had ridden it long back so don't remember exactly.

Couldn't meet you last time around, if you are meeting gixxer any time lemme know I can come over his place as it is just stone throw away ( not literally though) from my place.

I am planning a trip this weekend to Lepakshi temple in AP about 120kms one way from Bangalore, requested gixxer to Join & waiting for his reply.

Suzuki Fiero & TVS fiero is one & the same, Might be some Internal Engine parts of Suzuki was better since they might have Imported from Japan, but feel pick up & looks were all the same.

My bike is May 20002 model, I bought it with in a month of Suzuki & TVS's break Up
