Absolutely echo your thoughts. Though I stick to shell ss, I have no problems using a 240 rupees can of oil and change it in 1500 km intervals.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Makes more sense rather than stretching an oil for long intervals. My P220 runs on 7100 and I still change it when the engine becomes rough and that's between 2~3k.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View Post+1.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Mine was a Karizma R 2011, doubt if that makes any difference.Originally posted by Dipan12Oh yours is ZMA but mine is R , but Ashwin my previous Motul 10w30 ran extremely good without any problem ? and still now with 10w40 7100 no problem .
I've tested everything on mine even the diesels and sadly the Motul's weren't up to the mark and made the bike rough but for some reason their Yamalube variants were decent.
I'm from Kerala and during that term the temp would be around 24~32 here.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Currently I ride a 2015 P220 on 7100 20W50, and the oil lasts anywhere from 2~3k, I change it once the bike becomes rough.Originally posted by Dipan12And what will be drain interval of 7100 10w40 ? I am thinking about 4500 - 5000 KM . Because my other friends in their p220 and ktm 200 changed their oil at 4500 Km and they use the oil I am using . Should I do ?
It is always better to change a decent oil frequently than to overuse an expensive one.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Not that strange. Feel depends on person to person. So if it works well for you then definitely keep using it. Though the bike runs very well with cheaper oils. Hence do consider using cheaper oils with shorter intervals as the engine would be more happy the more it runs on new oil.Originally posted by Dipan12Strange in my case it works perfectly even our engine are same - except cosmetic change !!Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Usually it's the other way around, but either way it's the clutch Bell that needs to be inspected. Take it to SVC and ask them inspect the entire clutch and replace springs if they are out of spec, and also clean the rotor filter while they're at it, to save on labor costs in the future you may also ask them to change kicker oil seal and cover gasket.Originally posted by Dipan12Yesterday due to low petrol and the petrol station was off in my area i rode my friends Karizma Zmr . He previously notified me about strange noise in engine when he pressed the clutch . I didnt bother because he was kind a paranoid person in case of bike . But yesterday when I rode his zmr i wanted to hear the noise and in surprise I heard . Whenever I pressed the clutch I could hear a WHIRLING noise like the oil is circulating something like that and when i left the clutch no noise . The noise was minute rearrly minute but if u hear properly it could be heard . Can anyone tell me what is that WHIRLING noise ? - felt / heard like the oil is circulating .Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Reason for me asking so it around the same price range you can get Rynox/Spartan gloves which offer more protection AFAIK compared to the RE ones.Originally posted by Dipan12Why not ? I found to be suitable for me so i bought it . And what about my post before and earlier ? any thoughts ?
But as I own a Spartan SPG Ares I know that it is practically unusable in Kerala riding conditions as it hinders agility. So was wondering if the RE ones had the same issue, which I doubt not as seen from their website images they're made from less rigid materials.
Please post a couple of pics of your gloves if possible. As I am out looking for a spare set of gloves to use while inside Kerala.Motorcycling Experience:

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Find a better mechanic, if there clearly is a sound and if he isn't able to find the reason even after disassembly then it would be best to get a second opinion.Originally posted by Dipan12Done the inspection on my friends Karizma , but everything seems to be in perfect condition , BUT the mechanic got really pissed as why we asked him to do all the inspection . Anyways still the sound is coming from there , its really weird , because every thing is in perfect state but the sound is appearing , in my karizma there is no sound like that !
You could try posting an audio clip of the sound so that we may be able to assist better.Motorcycling Experience:

To be Honest, I don't know why there was play in the clutch bell and the only way to fix it according to the SVC guy is to change the complete assembly..Originally posted by Dipan12Sir can you tell me how there is a play ? and how to rectify them ? . Nothing to worry. The sound will be not from clutch bell but gpt pinion. Nothing will happen. It will run for a lac and still nothing will happen.
Bike will go kaput? Is this a electronic toy that it will go kaput.
And bike lasting will depend on maintenance and how you ride it.
Frequent high speed burst and sudden braking will cause more damage.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. My mantra:Originally posted by Dipan12And still after 10,003 KM - no problem in the terms of - start up and mileage . Loving it.
Cheaper oil and frequent change. 2000-2200 km max.
Air filter change at 8-10k km.
Spark plug change at 12k km.
Chain lube once 2 weeks with grease, clean once a month, except monsoon.
Check air pressure every Friday morning.
No rash riding + usage of engine braking helps prolong brake pads, clutch plates as well as sprockets. Front pads last 15 to 17k km and rear ones were changed at 73k km. Sprockets lasted ~78k km.
Clutch plates were also changed at 78k km.
I'm still running on stock bore piston. As a precautionary measure, I changed piston rings and rocker arms at 78k km (rockers were dancing around).
I change oil seals every 25k km. Drain bolt O ring is changed every alternate oil change.
The bike runs like a charm still now. Fairing has turned yellowish which will be replaced next year.
ODO from yesterday.
