Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Well if you plan to change bikes after having completed less than 20k km, it's your choice. Your money. I cover a little over 20k every year and I'm on my 2nd battery. OE lasted 46k km. So 20k is peanuts. It may not even last 10k for you, but then I have hardly seen batteries dying that soon.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostGot a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Sorry if i was being rude, i didnt mean any disrespect... this is my first major bike and i dont know anything about bikes, eventhough i love riding 'em.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostWell if you plan to change bikes after having completed less than 20k km, it's your choice. The thing is that, i just rode my hunk, cleaned it (on the outside), took it to SVC at regular intervals and thats about it. These things - alternator, chain cleaning, fuse, FI, are all new to me. I want to maintain her properly.
I have no plan on changing zmr....
My point is that by the time it hits >15k kms it would be like 4-5+ yrs...
Even if it gives 10k+ kms on one battery it would be fine for me... i thought it would die like after 5k kms or something like thatLast edited by rp014947; 06-21-2015, 05:09 PM.

Chill brother. No offence taken and none meant.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostSorry if i was being rude, i didnt mean any disrespect...
Since ZMR has more electronics than Hunk, it would naturally sap more battery power. But then it has a more powerful alternator to take care of the things. Just that your usage will not let it make optimum usage of itself.
Though weekend runs once in a while should keep it engaged a little longer.
Even if you fit 2 55w bulbs it will not kill the battery at 5k. So you can comfortably change both headlamp bulbs.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Are you happy with low beam? Asked because you said you'll change just the high beam bulb.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostThanks bro for understanding...

For braking, use more of front brakes. Maintain something like 70:30 front:rear ratio.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

No am not satisfied with both lights... but i dont want anything to happen to the batteries. So i decided to change the high beam only..Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostAre you happy with low beam? Asked because you said you'll change just the high beam bulb.

But if you can suggest something better that wont effect batteries as well, i will take a look into that as well...
70:30 braking ok..will do that..thanks bro..
Also can you suggest a mud guard for the rear tyres, rear tyres is spraying mud all over the pillion seat and rider...Last edited by rp014947; 06-21-2015, 10:48 PM.

Yes, its true there are vibrations at 4k-4.5k rpm and you can hear them as well..
But once i crossed 4.5k rpm range noise is too negligible or i cant hear a thing because of windblast..
As for vibrations, at <4k rpm i felt vibrations mostly on my right hand and >4k rpm vibrations are felt mostly on my left hand and i went uptill 5.5k rpm the vibration noise isnt there but i did feel the vibrations on my left hand....
May be its an engine thing.. but once you hit the 70's its a pleasent ride.
The one thing besides comfort that i liked about zmr is the wind deflection... Man!!! Not even a slight deflection due to cross winds even at 85kmph (max speed i went), where as my hunk was floating like paper @70kmph...

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Go to Hero ASC, ask for rear tyre hugger. If they don't have stock then order it, they will take orders n get it.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostI have seen the same pic, but there is no mention of the same anywhere on the internet...

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Instead you should be changing low beam bulbs as a must, since you predominantly ride inside city. High beam in city is a no no. Bulbs I already mentioned in an earlier post of mine.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostNo am not satisfied with both lights... but i dont want anything to happen to the batteries. So i decided to change the high beam only..

R15's won't fit. All new Karizmas come with the mud guard/hugger as an accessory. Contact your dealer.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostI have seen the same pic, but there is no mention of the same anywhere on the internet...

But, it's an ugly looking contraption. I've seen it in person. But, it does what it is meant for.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Does anyone have any info, whether hero has done something to address the valve problem in the new zmr's. Because sometime ago I read that they are working something on this line, but then the dealer near my place is already having quite a lot of zmr and r in his stockyard, which will affected ones. Dunno whether hero will replace these, if at all they come up with a solution.. I myself have seen it in person.
One of my friend is thinking of getting a zmr, as and I want to know about these things.
On a side note, I don't see any threads or news about guys here owning the new r.. Does anyone have any idea if the new r too has the same vibration and valve problem.
Cheers

Inspite of all the valve problems, I love my zimmer a lot. Hope it stays that way for a long time and the problem gets corrected totally someday.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Guys i think that the bump shaped winshield doesnt suit our zmr.
1.What if i were to change the windshield?.
2.all the faired bikes dnt hv tht high winshield and defenetly not the bump kind of shape.
3.this probably is due to the fact tht zmr is made from ebr design. But then they did not copy ebr design properly for the head part.
4. I searched a lot of fared super bikes. Its just that our bikes windshield nd the digital meter is quite high up.
5.Lastly if i am to change the windshield. Any suggestions as to whch bikes windshieldd shud i get.
It wud be very greatfull if u can make any comments on this. Good day.
