Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
@Divya do you use WD40 for cleaning or just kerosene? And one more thing, for the chain lube, is Motul Chain Lube Road good? How many lubing does your spray last? This is just to estimate if I am using too little/ too much lube...Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostRiding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
I use kerosene or motul chain cleaner (depending upon the availability of either) followed by motul chain lube.
Chain cleaner goes by the name Motul C1 and lube is Motul C2.
Cleaner lasts 4 sessions and lube lasts 6 to 8 sessions.

You sir should specifically stay away from WD40 for chain treatment. Kersosene is fine. WD40 would eat your Z's O rings.Originally posted by Shreeni0403 View PostI have filled up Kerosene in empty collin bottle, so Kerosene spray easily available [emoji14]

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Update on my friend's zmr. There was a sound resembling tappet noise coming from the engine as i had told it here last time. Its been more than a couple of months now i guess.
Well, right now, he has changed the svc and started servicing it in a newer and much better centre. There, the mechanic had told that the sound is not of the tappet but is coming from inside the engine chamber, near the cylinder. Upon opening, the mech has found the cam shaft to be completely worn off, resulting in the sound. They have agreed to replace the same under warranty.
I remember a discussion here where it was said that newer models have this problem and it can be corrected by using a part from the older zmr engine. I am a bit confused on that part and would like to get it clarified..

That would induce a rubber band effect while accelerating. Srikanth had the very same issue.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostI remember a discussion here where it was said that newer models have this problem and it can be corrected by using a part from the older zmr engine. Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Well, my concern is, even if the part is replaced, the problem will eventually come up again. Might be a manufacturing defect cause most new zmrs have this issue.Originally posted by Divya Sharan View PostThat would induce a rubber band effect while accelerating. Srikanth had the very same issue.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
With almost every ZMR v2 having this problem, I feel this is rather an issue of bad engineering/design and not just a manufacturing defect.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostWell, my concern is, even if the part is replaced, the problem will eventually come up again. Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Ever since Honda and Hero Parted ways, total indigenisation of components started. with the cut off date , and EBR association, high lift cam and domed pistons with deeper valve relief were used for increase in power in both ZMA and ZMR. The problems then started due to poor design and Poorer component quality...
Here after most components for ZMA and ZMR will be Local make and expect poorer reliability, if one is unfortunate enough to use it....Hope Hero improves the quality of the components. When Was The Last Time,You Did Something For The First Time.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Actually the problem was with vendor supply. The vendor supplying the camshaft was at fault.
Recently you all must be aware that almost all Hero bikes had parts scarcity, so with greater number of complaints Hero decided to change the vendors and also has also decided to change the procurement rate of spares so that vendors are not pushed for margins.
We recent re calling of parts tender and such, finally hero has sorted much of problem.
Expect the new prices to have increased quite a lot but rest assured quality has also gone better.
The new prices that i am seeing has increased and so also some vendors. Now the vendors name will not be displayed. Only Hero name will be displayed.
Change the camshaft under warranty and use only the new camshaft. The new camshaft has problem sorted as per complaints faced by company.
Be sure to change the rocker arms as well.Photo of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/854067-post963.html-3.88 lac km cont....Ownership review of my joy- http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/832255-post608.html- slowly updating as and when getting time. Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Yes bro we went and had a look at the engine. Both parts are clearly worn off. The showroom guys had booked a VOR to the company about two days back. Am sceptical about the parts now. Whether we will recieve the stock which the previous vendor made, or that of the new one.Originally posted by sibun View PostActually the problem was with vendor supply.
