Yes. Absolutely. Stress on tappet adjustment with a feeler gauge.

Why bother, they won't do it right anyways. Better keep riding and later on do it yourself when it starts to clatter.

And I've heard from SVC that the tappets are initially set loose, tough I'm yet to hear a new bike making tappet noise.

That's what they did! It was set loose from Day 1 and is rattling. The SVC asked him to come back after 10 days or so.

Oh, same pinch. After replacing the cylinder kit under warranty they did the same, I didn't bother going back as Sarin bro, Psr sir and Aneesh bro had already helped me do it once, so did it on my own. Karizma's and Pulsars are easiest as they have dedicated tappet covers for convenience.

The SVC people go by feel, they don't use a feeler gauge. So do think twice before getting it done, unless you can take your own feeler gauge and approach them and get it done in front of you, as most SVC's dont even have one.

yes sir, you're correct..Actually i own a zmr 2014 the mechanic who adjusted the tappet noise simply did that with his hands by just looking above and feeling the gap.. he said he adjusted the gap to 0.1mm.. but still I'm hearing the tappet noise when travelling at 60's.. and slight loss of power i.e pickup then the time of buying..

Guess you have no other option that to set it right by yourself, for assistance you can use the DIY guide in my signature. But my personal opinion is that you wont notice much of a difference in Karizma's if the tappet is in fact set loose, only noticeable issue would be the weird clatter.

Hi, I am posting this on behalf of my friend who took delivery of his ZMR last month :-

                  1. Is it harmful to fill in slightly thicker oil then recommended in the front forks to make it stiffer?

                  2. Can he start using Valvoline Champ 4T 20W40 Semi Synth oil from 1K onwards?

                  3. During 1st servicing, the mech told him that one needs to pour 1.2 lt oil after complete dismantle or else 0.9 so will there be any problem if my friend fill 1 lt oil?

No issues AFAIK, someone did mention going for Motul and it being stiffer than expected.

                    2. Can he start using Valvoline Champ 4T 20W40 Semi Synth oil from 1K onwards?

Yeah why not, if you feel like it why not change to it ASAP. The stock oil used to be decent, but I'm not sure how it performs as I heard its not made by Savita anymore.

Check the manual, the ZMA's have 0.9L refill on oil change, but since the ZMR's have an oil cooler it might be different, plus last time Manesh changed his oil I remember him getting two bottles of Gulf Pride 4T Plus 20W40. Aneesh did the change.

No idea mate, all I remember is it came in a Valvoline bottle.

But I know a few who're using Motul 5W oil on the ZMA.

changing the handle bar in new ZMR is bit difficult, because the distance between rider and handle bar is more and to compensate this the new handle bar has been angled towards the rider. if u use old zmr handle bar which is comparatively straight , the distance increases further and you have to lean more.
