Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Going for NS isnt really an option, as my parents really dont have a liking towards Bajaj. I also cant wait because my work place is like 40kms away from home and traveling with Hunk is really really painful. So i have got to take a bike now. Will be getting my ZMR (red one) tomorrow hopefully. Looking forward to your support in future as well. Thank youOriginally posted by rreneav1987 View Post

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Not all bikes have the same issue. If you are buying it, keep your mind clear of such things and go ahead! Service your bike according to the schedule mentioned as hero offers 5 years of warranty and you are going to need those very much! Helps a lot in the future. Keep us posted and upload pics once you get it!!Originally posted by rp014947 View PostGoing for NS isnt really an option, as my parents really dont have a liking towards Bajaj. Spark plug, air filter, sprockets, accelerator cables, clutch cable, chain slack etc. Though sprockets life depends upon usage and maintenance pattern.Originally posted by srikanth kvnap View PostMy bike has done 13000 kms.
What all parts need replacement or atleast checkup?

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Bought my Karizma ZMR (Blazing Red) last saturday. Everything was fine for 2 days, except for some sound from the fairing and the silencer. Today morning i rode for about 26 kms, stopped at a signal, turned the ignition off. Thats it.Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostNot all bikes have the same issue. When i turned the ignition on, no display, no self start, no horn nothing. Tried manually starting, but the bike refused to start. I was left stranded in the middle of the road for about 2.5 hrs when the service centre guys finally showed up (after calling them continuously). At first, they checked the fuse beneath the seat. They said it was ok. Next, the tried checking the fuse near the battery and voila, one of the fuse was blown. [The funny part is that they dont even know how to remove the cover - they where studying on my ZMR].
Next, they said they want to make sure the wirings are ok and that they wanted to find out what caused a blown fuse. While driving to the service centre, the display, horn, lights etc all went dead - thankfully i dint turn the ignition off.
Upon reaching the SVC they checked the fuse, but it was ok. They where unable to find any problem with the fuse or wiring. Then they put back the fuse and then it was all back to normal. Everything was working perfectly. They dont know what caused the fuse to blow, the first time and the second time - what was wrong.
I havent gone past 60kmph mark, no sudden throttling, havent washed my ZMR, it wasnt even near any water source.
What is the problem - i dont know - now its working fine. Please tell me what caused the fuse problem???
Will be posting the pics of my Red Devil soon...

Now, do not get scared by what happened. I know, it caught you off guard and stuff.
It was a classic case of starter relay going bust! Get it replaced. Just replacing the fuse alone 'may' not work. It costs ~180 rupees.
Get yourself a MINDA make starter relay and put it in yourself. Toolkit provided with the bike is enough to do the job.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Also, why did the starter relay go AWOL...Last edited by rp014947; 06-08-2015, 05:22 PM.

Thanx. I remember having a discussion on this forum about air filters and I guess the lifetime was mentioned as 7500 kms. And I have already done 13000 kms but no one at the ASC ever told me about it during the servicesOriginally posted by Divya Sharan View PostSpark plug, air filter, sprockets, accelerator cables, clutch cable, chain slack etc. Though sprockets life depends upon usage and maintenance pattern.

No idea about online stores, but any local Car Accessory shop would stock MINDA kits.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostThank you @Divya Sharan..

For the starter relay:
1. Open seat fully.
2. Remove the battery cowl/plastic cover (2 + 1 screws)
3. Locate The starter relay in front of battery. Google its images, you'll get to know.
4. Pull it out, unscrew the old relay and screw the new one.
5. Reverse all steps.
7500 or 8500 km depends upon the surroundings. I replace them at 9-10k km only. It is clearly mentioned in the manual to replace air filter at 10000 km at max.Originally posted by srikanth kvnap View PostThanx. Will do that, thanks bro... Are all starter relay kits for bike - the same or should i have to ask specifically for ZMR's starter relay???

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Ask Honda Unicorn's starter relay or CBZ Xtreme's. It's the same unit. Basically any relay would do. Just ensure it has a 15/20A fuse attached in it.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostWill do that, thanks bro... Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Sorry guys for posting the pics late, was busy with my work. I posting the pics of my Karizma ZMR [Red] below.
Apart from a minor hiccup in the begining, the bike's performance is very good. Since am new to this kind of sporty racing ride set-up, during long rides my back and my right palm aches a lot. I hope getting used to this bike solves that problem. Seats are very good and provide a comfy ride - very very happy with them.
I feel the suspension is set to be on the stiffer side, please suggest to which setting i should change the suspension in order to get better soaking up of bumps.
The brakes screeches a lot, even when the brakes are not applied. I hope it will go away once the break beds in as Divya Sharan told me.
I want to change the front lights to something better - please suggest opinions on what can be done??

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Congratulations!
Seat as away as possible from the tank and try to keep your back as straight as possible. You'll be used to it gradually but it still pains a bit(minor) in excessively heavy traffic. I guess that's common for all bikes with aggressive stance.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
It's almost similar to ZMR v1. A slight lean. You'll get used to it.Originally posted by rp014947 View PostThanks srikanth, will try doing that and i also hope i get used to that stance.
Make sure your arms are NOT straight on the bars.
Attaching a pic of mine for reference.
Edit: Another pic showing how to keep your back straight.
P.S - not showing off.
