Yes, There was that rubber band effect or sudden jerk. Also, there were so many different things like the absence of chamber gasket which may have caused that effect. And I guess u remember that metallic noise, it's still there even after the day 1 from repair . I am just waiting for it to aggravate before making complaint. But since it's audible soon after the part change I don't think my problem is not just due to cam-shaft or piston. There are other things which they are not able to diagnose

He was initially provided with v1's part. After his regular complaints, some head of ops or somebody (who claimed to possess godly TALENTS ) provided v2's parts.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Very nice review Prateekjayant..
I am planning to buy ZMR, but the looks (in picture) are not that much appealing. Since you said its much better looking than in pictures, i will check out the showroom.

As far my needs are concerened - am not much of a tourer or a racing type of guy. Will do both occasionally. My previous bike is HH Hunk. Been riding it for 5 years now-a great companion. Now i wanna upgrade to something a bit more reliable and powerful.
Comfort, power and mileage are my top priorities.

Is this bike an ideal choice for me. By the way am 6.1 feet tall. Please give me valuable inputs.. thank you

Oh yeah i remember you telling me! I thought he had the v1's part deliberately put in as the v2's were having a design issue!

They may launch refreshed versions by this year end and later hx in 2016. According to few sources.

Thank you abhi7013 for replying. I dont really have a liking for karizma, its just that after reading a lot of reviews, i was interested in Pulsar NS200, but my parents dont have a liking towards Bajaj - mostly because of its lack of resale value. So, i was forced to look for an alternative. I found CBR 150R and Karizma ZMR to be good, but CBR costs an extra 30K over ZMR. Now am confused and need your help.

My budget is like 1-1.2L INR. I feel that time to get a new bike is at hand - i have been riding a Hunk for the past 5 years. Its a great bike but occasional long distance traveling is very very bad and my back start to hurt after a 20-25kms and i often find myself searching for a better riding position.
My first choice was Pulsar 200NS and it costs like 1.11L INR at my place (well within budget). But, my parents don't agree to me as Bajaj don't have resale value and i was forced to hunt for an alternative.
Cosmetics of the bike don't really matter if it has a good riding capabilities, decent power and mileage. Please do suggest on the same.

While at it, please do fill on the issues of ZMR as well - i read a lot of complaints regarding :
1. screeching noise from rear disc breaks

2. Vibrations at low RPM

3. Bolts and screws not fit properly leading to noise from the fairing

4. Starting trouble due to battery.

Please do shed some light on better front tires and front H/L beam lights as well. Thank you

Well, I don't own the 2014 ZMR. Abhi and I own the previous generation ZMRs.. Hero Honda.. I haven't faced such issues with my bike as mentioned by you.

The 3rd point can be sorted out by adding a rubber washer made out of tire tube yourself.. this helps reduce the rattling sounds from fairing..

the 4th point might be because the bike doesn't have a kick start.. On The Other Hand, most of the bikes these days don't come with kick start anyways.. Many people here like Divya Sharan still use stock battery on their ZMR and never faced an issue.. correct me if I am wrong..

to tell you the truth, the ZMR is a wonderful piece of machinery with a fair enough Fuel Economy on the highways.. but the new bikes have had some issues and Looks like Hero is looking to rectifying these niggles.. and after noticing the drop in sales, they are looking to redesign the Karizma twins.. expect the new Karizma twins to sport projector

Can be handled. But yes, it irritates initially and once brake pads bed in properly, the sound vanishes. Happens with 99% of bikes with rear discs.

2. Vibrations at low RPM

That is how the motor is. It has a slight buzz <3k RPM and then >7k RPM. The issue seems magnified later due to loose/broken panels/bad sprockets etc.

3. Bolts and screws not fit properly leading to noise from the fairing

A faired bike is NEVER vibe free. But ZMRs vibes can be reduced by using rubber tube washers.

4. Starting trouble due to battery.

The battery doesn't just die out. It gives you at least a week of warning signs. You won't be stranded ALL OF A SUDDEN.

OE battery yes. Stock, no! I replaced mine at ~46k km on the ODO. The second one is doing its duty for almost 30k km now.

If the front looks decent enough and handling, comfort are good (while doing test drive), i will be booking the same. Will post my decision here and i will definitely be needing your support in future as well. Thank you guys.

If the front looks decent enough and handling, comfort are good (while doing test drive), i will be booking the same. Will post my decision here and i will definitely be needing your support in future as well. Thank you guys.
All the best.. but I would still suggest you to either wait or go for the NS which sounds like a better option at this point of time
