Last week I got the original Nissin pads fixed on my bike from the ASC. 1100/- plus 100rs service charge.

Thanks Divya Sharan.. we spend 1000's each time we go out for a dinner. Brake pads shouldn't be compromised.

Karizma is my all time favorite bike and i always wanted to own ZMR. Before buying HUNK way back in 2011, i almost booked ZMR but after some financial calculation i opted for HUNK and also i can quench my thirst for a DSLR in that way (but actually i bought my DSLR last year only). Back then i was not much obsessed with bikes and hence the decision (Believe me, if now given this choice, i would never trade off my bike for anything.). So it’s been a long time thirst to lay my hands on the ZMR and with the new ZMR released with increased power it became more intense. Thankfully my urge to drive ZMR got fulfilled through my friend's ZMR. The bike is done 1200km so far.

Below, here and there i would compare ZMR with my HUNK, so as to give an idea for those who wants to upgrade from their 150CC bikes and i have ridden HUNK & XTREME much.

Observations:

1. This is the first time i have ridden the ZMR'14 and had a close look on it. It looks stunning (atleast for me) in flesh that too in closer views. The bike looks big but yet sleek and big wind shield does not look big at all. One thing i observed is ZMR looks more suited for tall people on contrary to R15 which looks good for average height people in my opinion. When we sit on the bike and place our legs on footrest, our leg from knee to toe would follow the line of the fairing which shows the detail given to the fairing design .The rear tail looks cool and sturdy but comparing to the front the rear looks little small for the overall look. The real look spoiler is the dual shocks and the tyres. The tyres are very small for the bike size and i think 140&100 would have been great for ZMR'14.

2. When the self is pressed, and it sounds up similar to Bruce Wayne's batmobile. i don’t know whether its specific to his bike or common, but i love it when it fires up and it sounds like that only during startup. After that the typical silent engine and on high revving the bassy sound just gives the adrenaline rush and brings smile on our face.

3. One word which would describe ZMR is the torque. man... it just pulls like anything. Though it is a tall gears(top gears), it effortlessly pulls at low speed also. if u are kind of guy who likes torque, then ZMR wont fail to bring smile to your face. Even in first gear without throttle it maintains 8kmph steadily. when i tried to give little more throttle and released the clutch little quickly, the front wheel lifted a bit. Just shift down one gear and open the throttle, the bike jumps like a Spain bull forward and the pillion will fall down behind.

4. The brakes are very sharp and confident inspiring. It doesn't lock the wheel and similar to my HUNK the moment of inertia while braking is being absorbed by front shocks which helps is avoid skidding.

5. Ergonomics: what can i say...its the best machine which i felt so comfortable in the saddle. Compared to my hunk i would say i didn't fell much difference in comfort level. the handlebar is tweaked perfectly for both cornering and upright steering. I felt the same easiness as in my hunk while doing the upright steering.

6. Coming to the seating position, since iam a faired bike lover, i am impressed with the seating position which is a little sporty and yet without compromising in comfort. The footrest is rear set but still i didn't fell much since my HUNK is also got rear set foot rest but ZMR is little more rear than HUNK. Iam 5'11" and my legs are well planted. i felt balancing with legs is more comfortable than my HUNK (here Hunk is better than CBZ).

7. ZMR shows the typical hero bike characteristics beyond 4000 rpm. it just enters into the beast mode where it just flies. Here, there is a difference between HUNK and ZMR. HUNK's engine would work like a slave worker in the beast mode whereas ZMR's engine works like a Boss (if u know what i mean ).

8. There are many reason one would want monoshocks, but there could be only one reason for dual shocks and thats comfort. The bike feels just like car in potholes. The default setting is little on softer side and it gives utmost comfort in bad roads.

9. The seat is soft cushioned and there is a lot of spacing for both rider and pillion which gives more than one seating position (we can sit close to the handlebar or we can sit little far). Though the seat is soft padded which is good for city commuting, i just hope it gives the same comfort in touring also.

10. The throttle response is very very crisp, thanks to the fuel injection and here one thing i would like to mention is, eventhough it is carburetor equipped bike,my HUNK is little close to FI system in terms of throttle response.

11. The fairing is redesigned into sleek and yet functional. It is designed in such a way that there is a free flow of air for the engine to cool down along with oil cooled system and the air leaves the engine through the 'K' shaped space in the fairing which is being used to place the heat exhaust fan in EBR RS/RX 1190.

12. The bike gathers lot of attention on the road and this is one of the reason that my friend wouldn't use the eyebrow lights much. He want to maintain a little low profile ( I wouldn't).

13. The headlamps are so bright for a 35W bulb. the low beam is really good and the high beam needs more power when comes highway ride. The horn is also great compared to my weak Hunk's, but still not enough for highways. This is also a con for ZMR since it is being tagged as 'Tourer', otherwise its sufficient.

Need Attention:

There are few things which ZMR needs attention from HERO. i hope few things can solved by the owners in their own way but still for a bike it definitely calls from the manufacturer. For few things below stated, please feel free to give some suggestions to sort it out.

1. Though the tail is sturdy, the rear indicators are just hanging in their place. i told my friend to apply some glues like feviquick to avoid any damage.

2. The neutral indicator is not working properly and it doesn't glow most of the time even though the bike is in neutral.

3. There are some unused weld marks in the exhaust for which only HERO knows the reason. i am not sure whether other ZMRs are also having the same or its specific to my friend's bike.

4. Vibration. when i read in the many online review, i never believed 100% about the vibration but after riding it i feel it now. The bike vibrates a lot even till 4000 rpm and after that it vanishes off and it comes again at 100+kmph. One thing i need to mention here is that, there is no sign of lubrication in the chain sprocket in my friend's bike and i believe lubricating it will solve most of the vibration. i suggested him to go for the spray type lubricants, but please suggest a good lubricant for the open chain type, as i guess oil is not recommended for open chains. I think these vibrations are due to the fact that Hero has taken up the revving limit to 8500rpm in the V2 and hence causing the vibration.
Thankfully, i came to know through a friend who is working in HERO R&D Gurgon, HERO is working on the vibration issue along with few other responses form the market. hope we would get a updated version of V2 and yet he has no clue on HX 250R status.

5. The fuel indicator shows two bar when the bike not started but when it is alive it shows three bar. i don’t know whether it is a problem with the sensor, but i feel it shouldn’t be the case.

6. i won’t mention hard gear shift as an issue because i know for HERO bikes its normal when the bike is new.

7. The bike throws lot of mud on the rider who comes behind and iam one of the recent victim. But hero is offering a mud guard which needs to be bought separately, many guys won’t fit it because they feel kind of look spoiler. but thanks to fellow guys like @Shakthi Vijay Sha who has fitted Pulsar 200NS mud guard and i think it looks better too.

8. Though the ZMR offers lot of comfort for rider, for the pillion it is bit hard to climb onto the seat because of its height and iam sure ladies would find it much difficulty to climb especially for those who wear saree. Also i felt a little back pain ( not much its just a very little) just after 7km ride when i was a pillion, may be its due to the fact that it is the first time iam sitting on it as a pillion . Here i feel HUNK is the best in offering pillion comfort even more than CBZ ( i would say ZMR equals CBZ in pillion comfort).

9. There is a weird vibrating sound coming from near the exhaust which me and my friend couldnt able to figure it out even after thorough examination. Its little annoying and dont know how ASC is going to solve it.

10. One of the surprising issue is the bike symmetry. When the bike handle bar it steered to the right side, the clutch lever hits with headlight assembly but when it is steered to the left it doesnt hit. Weird but still an issue.

Guys these are my views on the new ZMR and if u ask me, overall iam well impressed with the bike apart from small niggles. This is a fantastic bike for touring as well as for city commuting. Here u can see there are more cons as equal as pros but most are negligible or atleast easily can be rectified. but its the vibration which needs more attention and i hope HERO would come up with some solution.

Regarding photos, we didn't have much time because of the 'anytime rain' climate and also i was much interested in riding the ZMR rather than taking photos. I couldn’t post photos with rider on since we didn't have the helmet and i guess posting such photos is against the forum rules and i dont know whether i can post photos without helmet even though its just a pose.

DISCLAIMER : This is not an ownership review, its just my views on ZMR V2 after spending few hours on this bike. Hence i strongly suggest to take test ride couple of times for a complete experience before buying.

Bro there r two things i wud like to say. The bike if kept on the single stand wud show a change in petrol level nd not when in double stand. Usually aftr a 5 min ride it shows the correct level of petrol aftr u used the single stand. Nd i had a long ride today nd when i read ur review i just noticed tht the bike electric start really sounded like a bat mobile and it trills me still now. Zmr is our new bat mobile. Njoy ur zmr guys.

Even in first gear without throttle it maintains 8kmph steadily. when i tried to give little more throttle and released the clutch little quickly, the front wheel lifted a bit. Just shift down one gear and open the throttle, the bike jumps like a Spain bull forward and the pillion will fall down behind[emoji14].

HUNK's engine would work like a slave worker in the beast mode whereas ZMR's engine works like a Boss (if u know what i mean [emoji14]).

He want to maintain a little low profile ( I wouldn't[emoji14]).

Shakthi Vijay Sha who has fitted Pulsar 200NS mud guard and i think it looks better too.

DISCLAIMER : This is not an ownership review, its just my views on ZMR V2 after spending few hours on this bike. Hence i strongly suggest to take test ride couple of times for a complete experience before buying.

BTW it is always better to quote only the points which we need to answer. its hard to read in mobile. ust a thought.

definitely looks like modded one.
