ZMR 2014 review from autocar. I felt it is a very balanced review. Says about ZMR's negatives but at the same time appreciates its +s as well.

Hero MotoCorp’s radical new Karizma ZMR is here , and we’ve just had a quick ride. Find out what we think in this comprehensive video reviewAutocar India is ...

absolutely right sir. no one will realize or understand the Karizma unless and until he has love for the bike.. I am riding a Karizma right from 2003 and I know how the bike feels when i ride it at those speeds.. I can ride the entire day without evening getting off the saddle.. infact, I will attempt a saddle sore after I gather the money to fix my bike and ride the distance.. I am sure I can ride the bike without having to take a break at all.. cruising at 110 kmph is more than sufficient in our Indian roads.. even at 110 it is dangerous to ride in India and people are cribbing about faster bike..

if a person is comparing a 150cc bike with a 220cc bike, he definitely doesn't know about bikes.. I own a Karizma (ZMR) and a Hunk.. I know the difference between the two.. I have done long tours on both the bikes and I know the advantages of the Karizma over the Hunk.. Both in terms of performance and comfort.. riding ~500 kms on the hunk gave my saddle a tough time.. but on the ZMR, i did ~1200 in less than 15hrs.. I could have done more but the climatic conditions weren't favorable due to which i had to take breaks to keep myself hydrated (in the month of June) in-fact I thought to make it till Coimbatore from Gwalior which is ~2100 kms if the climatic conditions favored.. I will attempt the saddle sore at the time when the climatic conditions will be favorable and in-fact do more than just 1600 kms in under 24hrs all this will be possible only on my Black Pearl

Rightly said, It's all about personal choice. I am constantly facing some or other issues with this bike be it small or big. Still, when I look into the market for an another bike which would cater to my needs... I don't see any other machine than my Zimmer. 110Kmph is more than enough for me. The riding comfort un-matched for long duration. Forget smooth empty roads, 2hrs in traffic yet here I am in office without fatigue or body pains... It's the Sedan of bikes.

Once again Sharing the months old receipt of my engine repair to discuss whether the parts mentioned are of new zmr or the old one. Cos he replaced the parts within a day. Even availability of new zmr fast moving parts like blinkers in a day is tough, how can we expext engine parts to be available then?

I gave my bike yesterday to find out what went wrong with my ZMR.
Seems that new gen ZMR has motor and ECU tuning issue. They said mein is third to have the problem.

I hope they have not delivered an faulty one. However I tried to test top end on my ZMR after I done 1k kms on odo.
It did went to 122 at 7krpm and I could have pushed it little to 130+ but after 110kmph the bike start Screaming out like 2 stroke bike and bike whobles hell lot so I lost my confidence and close the throtle. I also doubt that the new gen ZMR weight distribution is not done well to break the side wind blow. Also I wish they would have consider to install 90/90 front tire instead of 80/100 which add more stability and cop up with 120/80 section effectively.

Also some sporcketting is popping up in my mind. I would try that after completing 10kms on odo.
I would try installing p200ns rim and sporcket to check how bike behave.

Guys I got a call from svc whom I gave bike for checkup. Said my bike cam shaft has gone.
And asked me to produce service manual. I wonder it can be possible in brand new bike. I got it serviced in 634kms and now running at 2000kms. Is bike itself faulty should I ask them for new bike or just replacing cam with new one will be fine. Will that be ok or can it be repeat in future.

First take a friend who knows about bikes to svc and see if the camshaft indeed is gone. If yes then tell them to replace the whole head under warranty. And the rest of the bike may not be faulty so no need to ask them to replace the bike. Have them check the rest of the bike in front of you though so no sneaky problems creep up in the future.

Guys, i had posted regarding thr problem in a friend's bike. The engine woulf not idle and would shut itself down. As Divya Sharan and rreneav1987 suggested, i checked the accelerator cable, spark plug and socket. Got it checked by a mechanic. There's no fault in any of them. Tried with a brand new sparkplug, still the same issue. Has it got anything to do with elements inside the engine? Need suggestions and opinions cause if that's the case, then I'd better ask the svc to replace under warranty. But i dunno on what to point to as the cause..

I do not think the idling problem to be from Cam shaft, also cannot rule out that. But first of all check the throttle body for idle air passage clean. Cam shaft failure in new bike is much less chance.

If the cam shaft is failing early then mail to hero for solution as the camshaft is made from mild material which is causing the problem.Hero will sort out the problem with its vendor. Getting a replacement and sitting quite is not the solutions. If the complaint goes to head of the company then only they can bring in change of quality provided by vendor.

However when they are fixing the cam shaft keep an eye on setting the tappets. As SVC people never use feeler guage and the new ZMR uses roller rocker arms. Tight tappets is a sure way to damage the cam shaft and rockers in the roller arm rockers.

Most of the bikes here are coming with problem after first service. Are they fiddling with the tappets adjustments in first service.

+10 to your post. Looks like the SVC guys are jusy playing around with the bikes that come in for service..

Are you guys with the Mechanic when he is attending to the bike??
