Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Honda engines are considered more refined than yamaha because they sound smooth but they tend to vibrate at higher rpms whereas yamaha engines sounds little rough in comparison to honda but they don't vibrate.Originally posted by emm View Postsigpic

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Thank you abhi and naveen. I guess I have got some idea now about engine being refined.
. Refinement and vibrations are different things.

Which is good..

And from the two quoted sentences, I guess new ebr tuned zmr engine has become more Yamaha than Honda...

American engines are not famous for their refinement, they are famous for their rawness, grunt, sound and mad nature...Originally posted by emm View PostAnd from the two quoted sentences, I guess new ebr tuned zmr engine has become more like Yamaha than Honda...

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Was the top speed run done with a 2014 220 ?Originally posted by abhi7013 View PostWell, i suggested a neighbour of mine to go with the new zmr. And he did. He bought it two months back and its completed 5-6k kms. Out of which i can say 750-1000kms were done by me
I have to say the bike accelerates like crazy and the old zmr has no chance of catching up. Got a chance to drag on a safe patch of road with zero traffic. Got a chance to compare with the p220 as well. Hero finally managed to beat the p220 in both, acceleration and top speed after so many years of its launch. Lol!
That's one perspective to look at it.
A p
They have made very minor changes too and from 220 ownership thread its more rev friendly and smooth .

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
No bro. Older one. And i have to say, the newer one is far more sexier! I thought it was my psychology playing around when i was riding a 220 bought about a month back, thinking it was new and hence the smoothness which will disappear after a couple of months, etc.. But if the company has tried further improving it, then i must say, its really good!Originally posted by Giftonsamuel View PostWas the top speed run done with a 2014 220 ?

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Yup. Even I have recently ridden a new version p220 and even commented the same on their thread. The new ones have become ultra smooth and with whatever I rode till 6500 to 7000 rpm it was not having any vibes as well.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Ok but p220 is very front heavy bike which reduce its handling capability and add fatigue to the rider's body specially arms whereas karizma brothers feel light in comparison to p200. I know they are even older than p220 but their weight distribution is better, it is not in the league of fz or r15 but without doubt its better than pulsar 220. On the flip side pulsar feels more powerful and most of its parts are cheaper in comparison to karizmas but they are comparatively less durable.Originally posted by emm View PostYup. Hold on. You mean to say, p220 is more heavier in the front than s zmr??Originally posted by Naveen1985 View PostOk but p220 is very front heavy bike which reduce its handling capability and add fatigue to the rider's body specially arms whereas karizma brothers feel light in comparison to p200. Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
P220 is heavier in the front compared to ZMR/Karizma. This is why P220 can't be flicked as easy as ZMA, and at the same time P220 feels much more solid on highways at high speeds.HH Karizma (Current) || CBF Stunner PGM-FI || Honda CB Unicorn Dazzler

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
^^ you have a point. But on the engine front of new zmr and new p220, any idea how frugal the engine are? I.e., the engine maintaining the same refinement after few hours of continuous riding on highway. The old bajaj engines, even my bajaj 2013 engine becomes rough just after one or two hours of riding. But there are changes being done on both zmr and p220 engine, and the new p220 engine has become more smooth and refined. I have heard the previous version zmr engine stays the same even after hours of city or highway riding. But as they have changed some things on both engines, has the tables turned in this aspect.

After riding the new zmr for a couple of hours on highways, i can say that i didn't observe any noticeable changes in the engine note. Remained constant.Originally posted by emm View Post^^ you have a point. But on the engine front of new zmr and new p220, any idea how frugal the engine are?
