Thanks for your comments.

How about your machine how does it behave with you. is machine has same vibe and pick up issue. when i first time complained about pickup and vibes they said there is air leakage from motor vacuum and said its corrected in first service. but its same story my machine is still vibe more at pos 4k RPM. and throttle seems well respond to to twist between 2k ~ 3k RPM after that its little hesitate move around if i still push then it vibes and engine sound become very rough. is that quite common in all new ZMR. Also i noticed strange behavior of my machine some time throttle get jam and RPM struck at 4k~5k but SVC guys said cable was twisted and now it loosened. I dont know how true is that. i still some time face high RPM issue even engine come to halt. why i so tensed because all these issue i did faced in my shitty bajaj P180 and 200ns which never noticed such problem in my CBZ Xtreme and ZMA. which makes me to cry whenever i get a chance to put my hand old ZMA.
It is not common problem...... I am not facing such issue.... 2k -3k only some odd sound but after 4k it become butter smooth till 5k after 6k some vibration occour.......which engine oil you are using....these things depend on other factors.....

Its same hero oil buddy I haven't think about changing oil yet as its still in runing period

you have wait for a bit more time say about 5000 kms. Although manual suggest a run in period of 1000kms, my recommedation would be is 5000kms.

this new version will not match the older version smoothness, becuase older version is for refinment. this newer version is for a bit of power.

I have been using shell on my zma and change it every 2500kms. shell is better than hero oil. twisted or struck throttle cable can cause the issue.

engine halting at high speed. Can you explain a bit more?

Guys a serious problem on a friend's zmr. The bike just does not idle. Rpm on leavin accelerator is below 1-1.5k. Stays there for less than a second and then switches off. I have no clue what the issue is. The moment you let go the accelerator, the engine switches off. You have to keep revving a bit in traffic to prevent it from going off. Is there a way to set idling? 4 years of experience on a Karizma and its funny that i don't know the answer to that question!!

Also please note that the service guy had added an ml or two of some kind of additive in the engine oil. That should not be the reason i hope cause it hardly effects anything for 1.2 litrs of oil.

I am not sure if the problem is with the throttle cable being stuck.. looks like idle speed is less and probably the air intake or spark produced is less..

How do you say it is the throttle cable being the culprit. can you elaborate on it so that I understand it better

Even i had a suspicion on idling but have no idea as to how to adjust it.

Happened with me, hence the idea. Can be something else too though!
FI engines CANNOT have their idling set/reset outside factory.

Spark plug fouling may be an issue because it fires once every revolution, but then why create problems <1500 RPM?
A stuck throttle cable has 2 consequences:
1. Doesn't let the idling come down. The bike would get stuck at 2500 or so RPM and take ages to come to 1500.
2. The opposite! After the cable has come to near idling position, it doesn't push and keep it there, rather lets it fall below 1000. Then the engine simply cuts it off. You can think of accelerator cable B gone kaput to relate to the scenario.

In the hindsight, it may be a vapor lock issue as well.

Exactly my point.. I mean for a FI engine, it is not possible to tune the idle speed like in a Carb'd engine.. so in that case it can either be the air intake or the spark plug going bad or needs cleaning..

I am not sure about the Throttle cable issue as I have never come across it.. thanks for throwing some light on it now I will know what all to check if I face this kind of issue

Absolutely right! Abhi's friend can simply knock these 2 out for 320 odd rupees. Maybe the plug is as old as Master Oogway himself.

Lol.. I guess his friend has a new ZMR 2014.. the bike could have a faulty spark plug.. also checking the ignition coil wire for any damage might help. I mean the spark plug cable..

Thank you for your inputs guys! Divya Sharan, it is a new bike so probably a faulty plug issue. Also will check the second accelerator cable. Issue was arising immediately after service, so reason could be anything!
