Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Owned and rode both, the ZMA is a bloody awesome trail bike and is uber comfortable on the highways, my max is 1340kms in a day.
The P220 on the other hand is a strictly tarmac only bike, doesnt insipre confidence off road, but is a better tourer, cause of the added gizmos, my best is around 800 to 1k in a day on it, used to be my shuttle between Kollam and Bangalore, not as comfortable and if you push yourself you can end up with a shifted pelvis(happened to me) but its more fun as you can actively do 120ish on the highways effortlessly, where as post 100ish the ZMA looses steam and things start to get really booring.Motorcycling Experience:
2000 ~ 2017 Y2K Kinetic Zoom (Disposed at 15k)
2011 ~ 2015 Hero Honda Karizma R (Sold at 56.5k)
2013 ~ 2014 Bajaj Discover 100 4G (Sold at 16.5k)
2015 ~ 2017 TVS Wego (Totaled at 18k)
2015 - Bajaj Pulsar 220F (Currently 31k) < Garage Queen!
2017 - Bajaj CT100B (Currently 21k) < 'Golden Quadrilateral' Runner!
The Ride was Good, but Life is short, spend it Wisely!
Adios Comrades!

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Does any fellow xbhpians tried top wack with new ZMR. I am curious to know if anyone managed to hold it post 130+ without wobbling issues.
Everytime i try on "NICE" ring road in Bangalore its just stuck at 122kmph. And holding it for 115kmph constantly is painful.
As vibes kick post 100kmph.
Its not the case in old zmr or zma the vibes only kicks post 115kmph its doesn't even bored me while holding it post 100kmph.

I suppose that you have the older ZMA, which has proven tourer credentials. Its the new one that I'm talking about. I heard they messed up the ergos big time.

Indeed mine was the 2011 model, sitting on the new model gives me the same feeling of riding my ZMA with P200 handle bar. More control, less comfort.Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostI suppose that you have the older ZMA, which has proven tourer credentials. Its the new one that I'm talking about. Re: Tik-Tik noise after riding .
This noise is common on most of the bike after the engine becomes a little hot sand then you stop / park the bike somewhere.Originally posted by Dipan12Hi my name is Dipan Talukdar proud owner oh Hero Karizma R 2015 edition(Yellow Colour) . I ride usually 50-100 KMs all the day . When I finish my ride I hear a certain "TIK TIK" noise coming from my bike . Tough it is not constant but it happens . The bike is new and only had 2088 KM on the odometer . I use Shell Advance Ax7 10w40 from Amazon and have no problem with it . I have completed my running in period which is of 1000 KM . I always kept within 60 kmph during running in period . And every 2000 KM I change my engine oil , oil filter , drive chain grease and drive chain tight , spark plug clean . This are my regular maintenance . But still it happens the noise . As per the noise I use to hear from my friends that their sports bike do the same noise . I want to know why it happens . Thanking you .

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
A well informed list! Keep a habit of checking tappets (valve clearance) every 4-6k km. The mild tik tik sound you hear on a cold engine is from the tappets. Both inlet and exhaust clearance should be set to 1 mm though a few of us maintain 0.9 mm.Originally posted by Dipan12This are the service I have made manually for my Sports Bike . Will it be sufficient ? You have no idea how much problem I have to face to get the Karizma R . And I got the Yellow Colour !
The tik tik sound that comes after parking the bike post a ride comes from the cat con in the exhaust and that is normal.
Speedo readings aren't accurate hence you see a difference in the indicated and mobile gps figures. There's a marked error upto 5 to 8% for obvious reasons. However Duke 200 and ZMR (FI) have realistic speedos.
P.S - doing such high speeds on public roads is downright dangerous!Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
That is a myth. Apart from the ECU and fuel pump, you can work on pretty much everything. Even the fuel pump can be worked upon to an extent (with the same set of tools and knowledge).Originally posted by Dipan12SI really wanted the ZMR (FI) but it has high maintenance unlike the ZMA where servicing can be done manually if you have the required tools and knowledge .
Good oil. Keep using the same.Originally posted by Dipan12I have one question which engine oil is best for Karizma R 2015 model ? I use Shell Advance AX7 10W40 .Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Re: Hero Karizma ZMR (2014 version)
Universal rule:Originally posted by Dipan12Thank you . But I have a question - should I turn the knob clockwise to tight or anti-clockwise to tight the knob ?
Clockwise tightens and anti clockwise loosens.Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

Have you been using shell for long time? I've heard that shell is only for higher rpms and not for city roasds.

Nothing like that. A lot of riders including me have used the oil and it performs well all round.Originally posted by kaushik02 View PostThanks for the quick reply.
