  • Power and mileage?

    Hello FZ riders,

    1. Is there marginal difference in pickup and power due to lesser BHP and Torque as compared to Gixxer and CB Unicorn 160?
    2. How costly is it to clean FI system as said during launch to do after each 6000 KMs?
    3. Any trouble with starting engine in colds?
    4. How's pillion comfort?
    5. What's mileage in conservative riding?

    Thanks!
    Ride hard, Ride safe! :D

This is the second time my tyre skid on braking !! This is a good bike, but the con are the brakes, I am not satisfied with the braking power and I'm not confident while using the brakes too !

could u elaborate what hapen...yup brakes needs some more bite but have u tried practicing them on an empty stretch of road....this way u will know the biting point of brakes much better without locking them....and do this every day at the beginning of ur ride....

Brakes are not super tight, but does the job well. Tire skidding has not happened to me since I have bought this bike. Check your brakes and as ronit said know your sweet spot.

BTW does anyone have any idea if we will be getting ABS? Its mandatory for manufacturers to provide ABS now, correct?

I did have a tyre skid once, but that was due to gravel on road. I was trying to cross the signal and the lights turned orange I also noticed a traffic police standing right in front and did a panic break but the gravel (on our such well maintained roads ) kept me skidding till I stopped and lost balance and dropped the bike. also the tyres give up on sandy soil surface but appart from that it has pretty good grip even in heavy rains. As far as brakes are concerned its pretty good only front brake is sufficient to stop the bike, the rear brake never locked up even if you literally stand on the brake pedal. then it is also depends on how you brake it has to be gradual progression not just snapping at the brake, try learning braking with two fingers (index and middle finger) that way even in panic braking scenario you will apply only required pressure on brakes instead of locking up the front wheel.

no not yet but in future (may be by 2017) all bikes above 125cc need to have both ABS and combined braking system (in short C-ABS feature on CBR 250R). which means all new vehicles and pre-built vehicles will (possibly) get it. meaning service providers can retrofit the ABS on our bikes as well (if everything goes as proposed).

Aah it will be a long wait. IIRC all bikes manufactured post 2014 needs to be retrofitted with ABS

Getting ABS would be a wonderful thing! More confidence.

I recently bought fzs v2 I am absolutely loving it. I have one doubt what is the correct time to shift gear up? I am currently shifting up around 4000 rpm is it fine ?

I am getting consistent above 45 ...fz has strong mid range from 3k rpm to 6rpm so u dont need to gun the throttle just gentle twist will do...and shift between 4-5k rpm during spirited riding and around 3k rpm when causal crusing. ......post some pics man which colour u bought...
