Ok guys, got done with my 1st service today, and travelled about 44kms in total. Will post pic. of bill at the end.

1) First up- To all those with new gixxers, let there be no more doubt as to whether the gear and bike as a whole will ease up after 1st service. My bike has literally become butter. The shits up/down just require a bit of pressure from toes and it slots into place. In fact its become even better than it was the 1st day after showroom.

2) Balgi- shout out to you. Asked them to check the carb tune, and they just fiddled around with the idle screw as it wasnt idling properly. Also checked the gearing ratio, with the device where they plug into the engine(?) to check. My starts at a simple kick of the start, and idles absolutely smoothly. Also, no more kicking in 1st and 2nd gears.
Also, checked disc pads, wheel alignment, chain tightening, and tightened the play on clutch and throttle...

Ok..lemme end this here. You guys have to ride it to believe it after 1st service. Absolutely blazing today on the streets, 80kmph in no time, and the shifts and ride as a whole has completely transformed for me. Clutch has eased up as well, despite reducing play. Attaching pic. of the bill...

Engine additive, mixed in, to smooth out the bike performance, from gears to engine running.

Its effectiveness is highly debatable.

other than gear shift everything is perfectly fine
i use full cluch to shift due to hard shift

have anyone experienced any hard gearshift befor 1st service ...???????

and i found this on chain today while cleaning .. is it the mark or i think the chain cap has come out

Don't panic buddy its just the chain link to dismantle the chain while replacing. 220's have green colour marking on the chain link.

You can easily reduce your bill by Rs. 272 - Polish and lubing can be done at home and will be more easy on the pocket.
3M oil is not required at this stage or perhaps any time. Just make sure you get the tank filled from a reputed petrol station.

I believe the consumables is water wash. A tiny advise here is, try to limit the number of water washes a bike takes. You never know how and where the water might go to and cause rust or earthing issues of the electricals. Since it was your 1st service, it was customary to have a nice bubble bath for the bike.

Most of the times, the polishing thingy and Teflon coating type of stuff from showroom wears off easily and pretty soon. You can avoid this next for the time.

Post 1st servicing, the bikes tend to smoothen out and can easily stretch themselves to accommodate your preferred riding style.

Guys, I received the owner's manual yesterday. Itmentioned tire pressure as F29 R33psi.
I was surprised to see my rear tire pressure was 48psi!!
I have now reduced it to 33psi.
I am sure this can be the reason for vibrations. This will also affect my tire wear. Guys, an important tip, pls check the tire pressures are correct in your new bikes, the SC ppl don't care and have enough knowledge.
Maintaining 29-33 will certainly enhance the bike'sperformance!

Another tip for those who feel their headlamp focus is not that good....

I read the manual and you can adjust the focus downwards literally in a minute!
I did it, will check it today evening and will let u know. The focus is bright enough, just that it spreads over a larger distance reducing its intensity.idea is to bring the focus nearer by adjusting the headlamp screw.
Let me know guys.

Ride safe wear helmet and strap it.

Thinking of a mod like this for my gixxer. Any info on where to source the parts from?

Basically we need something like this.

Thanks for the advice. Am marking your post for my 2nd service.

Anything different that the 2nd service carries out thats different from the first? Also, water wash on 2nd free service as well?

Had asked service centre guys to lower the projection with the same reason that you thought of, but not much has improved after that. Let me know if you find out anything more.

Salil - You can pump the pressure by 1-2 psi now during winters. Its winters and the air inside will cool down and bring the pressure down. As you ride, the tyres get warmed up and then the pressure will be more or less in-line with the manual suggested readings. You can go for F30 and R35 easily. Wouldn't make a world of a difference but slightly more nimble.
radikel - More or less the bike undergoes the same process of servicing for 15-20K kms on odo unless something like Tappet noise or chain replacement or timing chain issues pop up. These are user dependent issues and not general ones. Regular replacements of parts like filters, brake pads and brake liners are the only things that happen in >95% of the cases. Rest are lemon bikes that may have issues. Don't worry, its all simple and easy. Also, do go through the manual. It will list all the things that need attention during servicing.

Quick question!

By bumping up the psi, wont it harden the tire excessively, preventing the tire from absorbing some harshness, which in turn will be transferred to the rims, causing the rims to bend a bit?
