Hi Guys, How are you all?
This is my first post. I have some of the queries. Hope to find some help!!

Gixxer is my first bike ever. Black it is..the choice was really simple... love the color..though Blue also gave a tough competition. I already have 1700 kms at my back with the beautiful machine. And i would say, it has been AMAZING!! After going through most of the posts in the thread..i felt sense of belonging...I also have some of the same experience. Some of my observation/queries are as follows -
Please pardon me as i don\'t know the exact/technical words to pin point

    1. While doing Emergency/SOS braking i feel that the bike skids a bit on dry roads..the rear tire tends to come front from right hand side. Has anyone felt the same way? Are there any tips for emergency braking?
    2. I feel the engine heat at the right leg. What can be done to reduce the heat?
    3. My bike is 2nd service due. Anything in particular that should be kept in mind during the same?
    4. What wax/ DIY mechanism should be used to keep the shine of bike intact. I don\'t wish to opt of tefflon coating..unless it is a last resort.
    5. I\'m getting average of about 50 kmspl. What is the general number others are getting?

Thats all for now. Will keep on posting more . Thanks for the help.

What type of chain does the gixxer have? is it O ring or normal one?

Does the chain produce any annoying sounds?

All Gixxer owners please check your tyre pressures.I checked mine yesterday and was shocked! 33psi front and 55psi rear! Recommended are 29psi front and 33psi rear. My gosh! Is this a strategy by Suzuki or the showrooms to inflate mileages and spread exaggerated opinions amongst prospective owners through new owners when they check their new bikes\' mileage figures?! Please reply fellow Gixxer owners! I got a mileage of around 45kmpl with those air pressure values. I expect a HUGE drop in mileage now. Will wait and see.

You see things vacationing on a motorcycle in a way that is completely different from any other. In a car you're always in a compartment, and because you're used to it you don't realize that through that car window everything you see is just more TV. You're a passive observer and it is all moving by you boringly in a frame. ~Robert Pirsig

mate, I just came here to post the same and found your post!

2 weeks after taking delivery and running 400+ kms, I took my Gixxer for refuelling and air check today. My front was 28 psi, which is okay but my rear tyre pressure was 46 psi. Shocked! The ride so far was bumpy and I was wondering if this was because of the stiff rear suspension but now I know the real reason. I suspect the dealers are the culprits here and not Suzuki. It is normal practice to keep more tyre pressure when the vehicle leaves the factory. They do this because they do not know for how long the bike will be in transit followed by dealer\'s godown unused. These moronic dealers hand over the bike to us just like that! My dealer is going to get blasted when I take it to first service!

WORD OF ADVISE TO PEOPLE TAKING DELIVERY OF NEW GIXXERS! PLEASE CHECK AIR PRESSURE IN A GOOD PETROL STATION IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU LEAVE THE SHOWROOM!

          Front: 29 psi
          Rear: 33 psi

            @Adnan Manna , @raintree

I noticed the same when I got my tyre pressure checked yesterday.
It has been a month since my first servicing when the tyre pressure was last changed and I found it to be 42 in the rear tyre yesterday! The servicing guys would have set it to an even higher pressure if it is 42 now.
Also, my bike was skidding while applying brakes in emergencies (even when it was pressed not very hard) and the tyre was wobbling on irregular roads post which I decided to get the tyre pressure checked.

I will bring this to Suzuki\\\\\\\'s notice and make sure they take an action against the servicing guys.
As far as mileage is concerned, I got around 41 when I checked last, but I am not much bothered about that as I have been riding quite fast these days (cruising at 90-100 on highways)

Oh my God. I had the same experience. My bike is only 4 days old, but I was saved by my habit of getting an air check every time I refuel. Front tyre was ok, 30 psi. Rear was a shocking 52 psi! Someone needs to go to Suzuki with this ASAP.

Thank u dude its really a head turner

Engine is butter smooth, 0% vibe free & very rev friendly nature.
The speedo meter feels that it has borrowed directly from the 600cc bike.
                    The riding comfort,handling is awesome.
Keeping the rpm below 4.5k rpm for the first 800kms as mentioned in the manual

                    Some more snaps

Hi Guys , I have bought my Blue gixxer on 22.1.2015 as planned.

                        Now regarding the bike,

This Blue guy only likes to push forward in all gears,i mean every gear level has its punch.Breaking is good and highly responsive.
Speedo packs all necessary details than other 150cc\'s out there.

Gearing is not smooth as expected, its a little hard and i noticed some grinding feel in gear lever at times while shifting between gears, may be it will be smooth after 1st service.
Never crossed the 4.5K RPM limit and went upto a speed of 63 KMPH.

Never bothered to check the mileage and i have just driven about only 150 Kms till now. I am planning to check it after 1st service.

The next day i noticed some rust in disk brake and one of its bolt while cleaning, also the rear wheel alloy paint came off a little bit on the corner. I immediately went to the service center and brought this issue to their notice with a little bit anger, they apologized and requested me to come on Tuesday (Monday - Republic day) as their manager will arrive that day to take action regarding the issue.(Man i was informed that the rust issue was gone on all their bikes by the sales person when i enquired about it and the issue showed up in my bike, Expecting a replacement on the parts)

Will post pics as soon as possible.

Will keep on posting and updating as i ride this blue guy.

                        Regards

                          Thank u buddy

Every thing is fine to say frankly its giving me a very fun filled ride which i really missed in my pulsar bikes from the last 7 years.

Even tough its late for the suzuki to bring this bike to the indian market they had done their homework excellent i must say. .Kuddos to suzuki team who built this wonderfull little monster.

But iam facing very hard gear shifts especially while changing from 3rd to 4th & also while down shifting i have to almost hit the gear pedal. Bike is just 11 kms old while taking delivery the odo reading is 2.5 kms.

As it\'s a new bike, it\'ll take some time to settle. Follow the run-in properly and rest will be alright.

Yeah you are right i also tought the same reason. As mentioned in the manual keeping the bike below 4.5k rpm just once touched 5k rpm.

Wondering how smooth the engine is when compared to bajaj engines.

i think occassionally you need to put some amount of pressure on engine for the parts to correctly set in. even the manual says so. so i think once in a while going beyond 5k rpm will help the engine. but should be done repeatedly, also see that you are not maintaining the same speed. vary it. correct me if i am wrong.
