    Hi

I'm extremely unhappy to inform you that my new gixxer gave me mileage of 30kmpl. Mine is just 2 weeks old & ran only 310 kms. Problem may be the choke cable tight. Let me check again...
    Good day.
    Just follow my shadow.

The bike has been ridden through heavy rain for 2 consecutive days. When I started it today morning, the electric starter wouldn't respond for the first couple of times. I kick-started it(it started at the first attempt), then switched it off and tried with the thumb starter again. The bike started this time and the starter worked faultlessly through the rest of the day- it was used on numerous occasions as I rode nearly a 100 kms today. I guess the slight malfunction was down to the starter coil getting wet due to tons of splashed water. Will have to observe this over a longer period, although I'm nearly certain it was a one-off thing.
On another note, it is frustrating as hell to spend an hour washing the bike every morning for 3 consecutive days, only to have it muddied the very same evening! I don't know what I will do in the monsoons.
Hey it's not the problem of the Starter Coil or the Electric Starter...it's the problem of the button in between the clutch lever (depress the clutch to start)........Even i was facing the same problem during heavy rains and also after a bike wash!....I had been stuck in between the Traffic Lights due to the same fault!.....But I rectified the problem which was caused by the clutch switch ....The solution is to gently press the button in between the clutch lever until it moves freely!...which gets stuck due to waterlogging...you can apply grease to prevent it from happening again!.... If u need ill upload the picture of the same!

I was driving the bike as per the instructions provided in service manual. My heart was stopped for few secs as soon as bike went to reserve.

Relax! Your bike is just 300 kms old. Check mileage couple of more times and report to SVC if it is still low.
Also, it depends a lot on the road you ride. My Hunk was returning only 28kmpl when I was living in Aminjikari

And, it shouldn't be an issue due to stuck choke. Stuck choke cable will cause engine to halt once engine is warmed up.

Will take my bike to scv today & the main issue is with petrol pump where I filled my tank full of petrol. I'll change the pump & try...

I think there is a problem with the choke in my bike too.. the choke doesnt work at all. Also, when I pull the choke, the bike goes off.

If you apply to much of choke ur bike will not start. Use choke in half way. My choke cable doesn't have enough ply. This will result in high RPM.

The problem with my choke is there is no difference whether I apply the choke half or full.. and when the choke is applied full, the bike goes off. There is no change in RPM - hence doesnt help in warming the engine...

My kind advice is take ur bike to scv & check completely.

Yes.. I will do that today. Actually I only checked the choke when it started raining in the past couple of days. Engine was cold and self start wouldnt work so I tried using the choke. To my surprise it wouldnt work at all.

I have attached the picture of the Clutch Button/Start Button!....The bike doesn't start if this button is not depressed properly!
