The price difference is due to commission to Sales Person and also Bike Handling Charges (Loading and Unloading from Truck)...U can complain in the Suzuki India Website to get ur Gixxer for the exact on-road price as indicated in the website!

Reserve to reserve method is not accurate. To know the exact FE, check it with some fuel in a jar which is available at the service cetre.

And as sandeep said he has had no issues using a 55w.
All batteries are Self recharging when you are running the bike!.......but in Suzuki Gixxer it has a 3AH Battery compared to other bike such as Honda Unicorn 150 (7AH)...and also as it is DC...the current is passed to the Headlights and other electricals even if the engine is not running..with just the ignition on!

Better try with Full Tank to Tank...you will come to know the exact reserve petrol available after filling the fuel tank and average calculation also would be accurate!

Battery is just a storage unit and nothing else. The bike produces enough more than enough power at 3000rpm to support 55/60w bulb. And radikel has summed up the remaining part.

I didn't check the manual for replacing bulb...........If you are in City, while you stop the engine during traffic signal and also while idling your bike won't be able to generate enough power to support 55/60w bulb!.....As Gixxer has a 3AH Battery compared to other bike such as Honda Unicorn 150 (7AH)...and also as it is DC...the current is passed to the Headlights and other electricals even if the engine is not running..with just the ignition on!..

Hello everyone, I'm Akib ,from Bangladesh. I have been following this thread ever since it was created. At last I have got my hands on this ravishing beauty [emoji41]

I bought this bike yesterday from the nearest showroom which is about 60km away. Have ridden it under 4.5k rpm...but this beauty won't stay under 55-60 no matter how much careful i'm [emoji12]

The showroom only provided a free mobil as a gift.
                    Which is a 'Mobil 20w50'

But I need some help from all of you guys [emoji53]

                    The manager instructed to:

1.change the oil after completing 250km with this given mobil.

                    2.then complete another 800km

                    3.then have the first service.

Afaik, the instructed oil was "motul 10w40". What should I do?
I've already completed 90km on odo.

Sorry for the bad pics... Will update clear ones soon. [emoji4]

                      I understand your point.
3AH battery means the battery is capable of producing 3Amperes for one hour which equals to 48watts for one hour. or it can power 96 watts for half an hour. or 192 watts for 15 minutes. So it can easily support a load of 60watts at traffic signals which takes no more than 3 or 4 minutes.
I have the same concern as yours before installing 55/60 bulb. So I first checked whether I could fit a 7Amp UPS battery in our Gixxer and after confirming that I could actually fit one with slight modification, I went ahead with 55/60w(all that can go wrong is a dead battery And low battery cannot cause electrical problems).
And after 3 months there is no problem with my battery. So you can go ahead fixing a 55/60(if you want)forgetting about all these fears.

Please stick to 10w40. 20w50 is overkill. I experimented with 15w40 Diesel engine oil and felt sluggishness in acceleration with it. with 20w50 there will be more drop in acceleration.

But what about that 250km oil change? Shouldn't I wait till 800-1000km to change the oil?

The early change of oil is not necessary; but it is in fact good. My first oil change was at 500kms.

Yes ofcourse you should wait till 850kms on your odo. Just follow the manual that is provided with the motorcycle. Thats how you can save yourself from voiding the warranty and can rightfully get its benefits incase something goes wrong. Goodluck!

                              Guys,

I got mine yesterday in Chennai ;-) I was able to get it for the on road price listed on the web site. No other charges. But had to pay for extra warranty, no plates and ladies foot rest. The bike gives a great riding experience..

Did anybody try the bullet type crash guard?

Also anybody feels little pain on the left hand wrist? I feel it even within small distance..
