😝😝 i hold the nozzle myself and i only let go after it is filled..... 😋😋Originally posted by Sird View PostI haven't done any mod.
Just straighten those 2 clips which got bend.
Yes, I've argued a lot on this. I say directly "You're here to hold and fill it up. Not to put it inside the tank and roam around chewing your tobacco."
Some listen when you ask politely but others just refuse.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I've the same coolant on my bike. It's a bit difficult in the RC for changing it and the coolant is very good. If you can afford it, I guess it's the best coolant.Originally posted by bikersdream View PostHow did it takes? 1ltr?
Also Post your experience with engine ice.
I think it takes 1.5 litres I guess. Still, the container you get with the coolant, there is sufficient amount of it. Even if you fill the system completely, still you will have some coolant left.

Bro, did you release the air? When my mechanic had changed the coolant he had told that it is important to remove the air from the radiator.Originally posted by sheru5 View PostToday's work, DIY coolent replacement, with engine ice.[emoji38][emoji38]
PS - sorry moderator. I forgot to write this in my previous post.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I havent dont that. I need to release the air from the raidiator. I think because of that the temp has not gone down that much, my left side fairing nut got slip😧😧 i need to get a new nut. Tried to open it without opening the left fairing, but failed,😣😣 will open the left fairing and release the air today, and hopefully the engine ice will give optimum performance.😆😆Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View PostBro, did you release the air? Oh ok. Cool. It is necessary to remove the air from the left side of the radiator. So, I thought I should ask.Originally posted by sheru5 View PostI havent dont that. I did it today. 😝😝Originally posted by lakshbhatia25 View PostOh ok. Cool. It is necessary to remove the air from the left side of the radiator. So, I thought I should ask.
To be honest i didnt find much difference in the temp😑😑..initialy the temp is low, but later it doesnt cool down as such described in the forms or anywhere.. maybe i did something wrong while replacing, maybe during flushing..or maybe i was expecting too much, i used 5lit of distilled water, used 1.2 started the engine and used the other 1.2 with the vinegar and the remaining jus flushed it in the radiator. Waited for the water to stop dripping and then added a bit of EI, shaked the bike abit and let it drip. And than added the EI.did the air bleeding too .. if i have done anything wrong while replacin it.. please let me knw .. 😆😆Last edited by sheru5; 09-19-2016, 11:29 PM.

Actually you did everything so perfect, in fact, you actually went overboard.Originally posted by sheru5 View PostI did it today. 😝😝

Check the reservoir after a ride, do you see it as normal between the high and low after a 20 km ride, then you are fine. If you find the levels fluctuating, getting low, top it up.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
I had done quite a bit of research before deciding not to opt for engine ice. Reason being any lc bike has a thermostat. And when a preset temperature is reached, the thermostat opens and coolant flows through radiator. Now even if you put anything, it will reach that temperature sooner or later. Thats why you are not seeing any difference. Our bikes optimum temperature is at 8 bars. Its designed to run at that temperature. And thermostat will make sure it reaches that temperature whether you have engine ice or any other coolant.Originally posted by sheru5 View PostI did it today. 😝😝

one should also remember that the temp gauge corresponds to the coolant temp and not engine temp. Certain coolants might be able to absorb and transfer the heat better than others. It's due to their chemical composition (water being the most important 'ingredient' and does most of the heat transfer), some have a higher boiling point which helps them to perform slightly better. One shouldn't be expecting drastic changes especially on a machine like the 390. And remember as coolant ages, it loses some of its efficiency.. so a refill with fresh coolant (be it engine ice or engine freeze, marketing
) might show a slight 'improvement' to the rider.

what could be life of coolant? 2yrs? or 20-30k?
