Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
What's the correct play in the clutch lever? When the bike was delivered to me, the bite point was pretty close to the grip and I kind of liked it. After adjusting it now, the bite point is away from the grip. On asking the svc, they said it's supposed to be that way and prevents clutch slippage.Free play adjustment, nothing else to adjust.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Recommend free play is 3-5mm.. Your mechanic was right in adjusting it. There was too much free play earlier in your case.Originally posted by chip94 View PostWhat's the correct play in the clutch lever? You have a reason to lol .Originally posted by s1d View PostLOL, do they really do such cleaning!? Never seen them touch the fuel pump(unless its broken). I was wondering if I should get the checked, but I wasn't comfortable to get the pump removed due to fears of a screw up

Actually I have never come across this done on KTM. It all depends on how proficient the mechanic is, or a DIYer. I've known people to remove fuel pumps clean the pump file and put them back in, with satisfactory results such as improper idle and some vibes during the ride, clearing up. Quite a handful of instances witnessed personally on R15s. Perhaps he did it that way or I don't know how else would one clean a fuel pump.
From my experience, unless you are willing to risk it, you can go ahead and remove the pump yourself, it isn't as complicated, you have all the details in the manual. What I would consider is retorquing the pump and the gasket with proper torque, too much or too low you either crack or run the risk of leaking on the run. Removing the fuel pump on the KTM comparatively easy, but as I say, the DEVIL IS in the details.
Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Its no harm using it once. Its being used all over the world. A gasket leak, if anyhow it happens, can be claimed under warranty.Originally posted by sheru5 View PostI have ordered the 300v 15w50 as well but not quite sure whether to use it or not😮😮, i have been reading forms and reviews😦😦

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
Yep, I was looking at replacing that filter sock that's attached to the pump (replacement i'll get it online and have someone bring it from the uk or usa, where such parts are easily available). I don't have any issues with fueling or the pump, but was looking at it as a preventive maintenance in the near future. I am also looking at maybe get an aftermarket fuel pump (just the main pump unit) and keep it as a spare (these are available for $25).Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostFrom my experience, unless you are willing to risk it, you can go ahead and remove the pump yourself, it isn't as complicated, you have all the details in the manual. And removing the fuel pump is not a big task as you say.. just worried about putting it back in with a good seal and not damaging the plastic tank. I think i'll have to first get a new fuel pump gasket before i begin to remove the pump.

Stock fuel pump is doing well I think.Originally posted by s1d View PostYep, I was looking at replacing that filter sock that's attached to the pump (replacement i'll get it online and have someone bring it from the uk or usa, where such parts are easily available). Also it might be costing less than 7- 8k.

Got the parts painted long time back. The side fairings have been given a glossy metallic black and the rest are white as you can see.Originally posted by AngadV View PostHow exactly did you go about achieving that? Stickers looking like that, or painting the fairing itself after removing the stickers?
I really like the look of that, if possible please do post pics of your ride.
Thanks!Last edited by SpeedyKol; 10-12-2016, 11:54 PM.

Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience
buddy, you are just spamming with such posts. Rather, give a link so that interested folks can click and read about it themselves.Originally posted by drarchitSome of you brother wanted info about proctane. Here it is. For more details check the page. Thanks !
this does not seem to be an additive for everyday use.. rather something on the lines of 'race fuel'.
and those spark plug pictures taken from somewhere on the internet and the one with a claim that its been thru 15 tankfuls doesn't show anything. You can take the plug from a normally running ktm and it will appear just as good.
Please cut down on littering this thread with such product promotions.. rather start a new thread for it specifically and you can have all discussions there.
Moderators, kindly help.. @B7ACKTHORN
