  • Re: KTM RC 390 Ownership Experience

I have noticed that my handlebars have too much vibrations, checked with two other rc390s of my friend's, mine has more vibrations on the bars.. Is there any fault in my forks or something? Was riding at 100kmph in 6th gear for a long time yesterday, noticed that there was a buzz in the handlebar which was felt on the right wrist and left wrist alternately..
    What might be the cause?

It might be from battery cover, my battery cover used to make rattling sounds, just check if it's battery cover, I can tell you a simple hack which will resolve this issue. Forever

    ride, eat, sleep, repeat
    Please tell
I have used double sided tape on the inside and it has reduced the rattling sound of it..

It's a bit crude process albeit a simple one, just you have to be careful, so what you need to do is remove your battery cover, you'll notice the lock assembly where the battery cover locks, now this is a tricky part and might seem funny and worthless too but it worked for me.
So hold the bracket on which the lock is mounted with your hand and pull it up slightly, don't apply too much pressure on it or you might brake some thing, what this will do is will bring the lock assembly more higher thus giving the battery cover a chance to lock securely by engaging in all the locks provided in the tank cover. This will help you a lot if done correctly, my bikes battery cover used to rattle all the time but now it fits perfect without any sound.

That depends on the current condition of the battery. How old is the battery?
A normally functional battery (bike used regularly and battery under 2yr old) will not be affected much when the bike is lying unused for a couple of weeks and should fire up almost immediately.
You could also If possible ask someone to just start and idle the bike for a few minutes every couple of days.

Or you could also disconnect the battery too.

The battery holds charge good, two weeks of non usage should not be of concern. Anything more than 30 days of total non usage, then things can get a bit tricky, it depends on a lot of factors. Cold storage actually weakens the battery a tad more compared to hotter climates. The best would be to remove the negative terminal of the battery if you plan to park the bike for more than 15 days plus.

                  Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                  The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

                  THE END

Any idea about the price of ktm rc 390's mirror? I broke mine today. A fat lady suddenly decided to cross the road without looking. Thankfully no one was hurt.
