Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
As from my own experience with this oil in couple of bikes and also hearing from others:Originally posted by GhostRider666 View Post
And could the members kindly suggest for how long the Bajaj stock oil can be run for in Kilometers. I do realize it changes from rider to rider and driving conditions but there has gotta be an approximate estimate.
The bajaj dtsi oil is good for a maximum of 2000 km. The oil starts to loose its dampening smoothening properties at 1500km or sometimes even earlier than that. At 2000km its at most dead. No. It won't damage the engine after that. It just doesn't give a comfortable feel of riding ur engine after that.
If I remember correctly the bajaj oil is from HP but don't know whether its mineral, or semi synth or what. According to me motul 3100 which costs lesser than this is any day better oil even if it too lasts only for Max of 2000 km. My suggestion for any bajaj bike u own. Use bajaj dsti for first couple of services then move to motul. Any motul is fine depending on your usage.
This is what I do to new bike
1. Use bajaj dsti till 7 to 8k kms. change oil definitely at first service and every 2k km after that.
2. At 8k km mark change to motul 3100.
If you are moderate rider or use bike only in city continue this every 2k km.
Else
3. At 10k km mark change to motul 5100. This oil stays good for 2500km to 3000km
4. At 13k km mark change to motul 7100. This oil stays smooth till 4k. Some have even surpassed this point satisfactorily. Now continue using this by changing every 4k kms.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Thank you for the detailed information. My doubts regarding the oil have been clarified. But what I was planning to do was switch to motul 7100 after 7-8k kms. Since I've read in a few blogs that, that would be the ideal time to switch to full synthetic oil. I'm riding an RS btw. I have clocked only 1800kms till now. But can you shed some light on engine flushing if possible. Since I'm not sure if one can change from mineral to synthetic or semi-synthetic for that matter, without flushing the engine.Originally posted by emm View PostAs from my own experience with this oil in couple of bikes and also hearing from others:

Doubt it's coming anytime soon. But you can ask your dealer to customize it while buying. They will make sure that the RC book has the new colour mentioned as well.Originally posted by PARTH CHAKRABORTY View PostDoes anyone know when is this colour coming in india---

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
The easiest mod is increase the seat height... cbr riding position is sporty and hence the feel, whereas all pulsars riding positions are upright and looks commuterish. Plus sporty riding position helps deal with the spine problems, which people riding on a stiffer suspension bike in upright position are more prone to get painsOriginally posted by Sanket s View PostI know this sounds stupid but is there a way I can lower the Handel bar of my rs200?? The other day I was riding a cbr150. The riding position is soo sexy just loved it. And you were gonna upload the pics of removing Saree guard ryt? Plz upload it m waiting. And the other guy plz upload a pic of ur upgraded tail light in broad day light it's Jst unclear.

Where did you get this done? and the total cost + other adjustments needed for this mod?
I am looking to sell this bike and lost interest in it long time ago that's why all the experimenting, If you love your ride than don't do it.
If you do this mod keep the fuse 15 amp for just in case as I blew up the taillight fuse, cost is around 20 INR( OEM fuse bajaj)
Cost I have spent is almost 1000 INR or more, working my way through trial and error method, I am just experimenting with different leds hence the cost.
A basic estimate if I had to do is :
Pulsar 200 NS number plate/indicator mount - 200 INR
Diode 1N4007 - 5pcs - 5 INR (you will need 2 pcs)
Resistor - 270E 10pcs - 5 INR (you will need 1 pcs)
Wire 4 meters - 30 INR
Wiring tape - 18 INR
Soldering Kit - 190 to 300 INR
Leds - 100 to 500 INR
Headlight Tint paper - 110 INR
Double sided tape - 130
Pulsar 200 NS number plate light - 90 INR
That's about the approx cost, I was not able to take pictures during the process but to give a idea, I bought a red color leds and used double sided tape to put it on the desired
spot and to hide the led used tint paper to stick over the leds, since the motorcycle is black it is nicely hidden, only problem I am facing is the damn gum is coming loose on tint as well as the double sided tape.
To shop most of the things you can visit Ebay India, Local electric shop ( not all electric shops and no online shop either have diodes and resistor, but try google that's how I found).
The work is crude for now just did a shabby job to see the look off the end result, I wasted most of the tint paper have ordered new one, will get a nice look after receiving the final nail in the coffin.
Reason for the mod was I wanted the rear light to go because it upsets the bikes handling, and these leds looks kool. I found out about the handling only after I completed the mod.

Finally reason for diodes and resistor is :
