I cant accept this buddyOriginally posted by dhaneshg View Postb) Since I am a 6'1" tall, I sat well on the bike. But the front seat seemed a bit too thin and hence uncomfortable. I had to keep adjusting myself to make it "crotch friendly"
. Plus the bike felt a bit tall, which in a way I welcome.
... I love the seating in GS.. I am fat guy with a fat b**t
... I feel as if i settled completely in the seat
I cant accept even thisOriginally posted by dhaneshg View Postc) On the test bike, the speedo was not working and hence even though I pushed it on highway I didnt know how fast I was going. However, in fifth gear, at "high speed" I felt a bit scared while cornering a curve. Maybe because of the weight of the bike it felt as it was taking eternity to eat the curve.
... I think the 2 years away from bikes have made u feel like that
You have a bad taste for colors i think soOriginally posted by dhaneshg View Postd) The orange color looked stellar
, however it is a bit too gaudy for my taste. And the black was not so impressive. Grey was not on display and blue/green looked dirty
. No other color choice.
Ya it can be adjusted... Test bikes will be bad most of the timesOriginally posted by dhaneshg View Poste) Can the shocks be adjusted, coz I felt it rough on bad roads?
The sales of this bike started on 2009. Introduced on 2008 i think. The first reason for bad sales of GS is lack of proper marketing by suzuki... The next thing is people are not for suzuki wholeheartedly... So they are not buying it and they go for the same old HH and bajaj... Even today i could see many suzuki max R 100 and samurai on roads... Remeber that suzuki made TVS a better one...Also Remember... Even HH, bajaj and TVS were underdogs one day.... Free services are 4 (within 190 days from the date of purchase)Originally posted by dhaneshg View PostCouple of things that worry me about GS150R:
a) The showroom was deserted, except for the sales people. And till date I have seen only one GS150R on road. Are people buying this bike? How old is this bike? In the sense when was it introduced? The showroom girl
was not keen to make a sale. Felt like she has seen a lot of people take a test ride but not buy it. How many free service does the company offer?
I cant bet on suzuki for resale value.... Even suzuki's heat and zeus are still under productionOriginally posted by dhaneshg View Postb) What would be the resale value if the bike is not popular? Any chance Suzuki may discontinue the bike, which would cause spares problem?
... I am damn sure u would know nothing about these bikes
... Be an optimistic fella....
Its safe to go for authorized service centers... There are mechanics who can do well compared to the SC people... Its your choiceOriginally posted by dhaneshg View Postc) Can this bike be serviced by a normal mechanic or does it have technologically advanced gadgetry which requires it to be serviced by a specialist?

gs addons
the bike rocks and I am on the top of the world right now. I drive sometimes just for the pleasure of driving.....
but i have a few questions in mind.some of the key components that would make the bike rock according to me are.....
- Rear Disc
- Tubeless Tires (Front and wider ones at Rear)
- Good Lights
Is it possible to install after market wide tubeless (dont care if the mileage decreases) tires such as the one in fz16 on gs150?
I heard that we can install remote lock, just like cars on 2 wheelers too......will it be useful (forgetting the cost factor) ?
I would also love to have rear disc breaks on my bike later, but i dont know if its a possibility or not.....any suggestions ?Last edited by Jayanth.M.P; 05-27-2009, 05:50 PM.

Hey guys, I've thought and re-thouht coulntless times on my decesion of buying GS. And now Im Happy to inform that Im getting my GS in 2-3 days !!!!!!! Im very excited and impatient.
Yaar,Originally posted by dhaneshg View PostA few things I noted:

The bike costs Rs.67,165/- OTR Pune.
There's been lot of discussion on this 4k rpm, weight and comfort things. Its all "getting used to" stuff. There are 2 to 3 test bikes at Automatic Auto, if u go again u can get another GS with working speedo. U can demand to see Grey colour. It would be in their store room. If u want resale price and 'more bikes on road' better go with another make. 90% ppl in India buy bikes bcos of looks and hammered marketing. The showroom guys were very kind to me, I've visited it nearly 10 times and they were nice with me, allowing me to test ride different GSRs everytime. The price is right, same for me.
All the Best. If u still have doubts, Unicorn in the very good option.

Yes. There are 6 Free Services. 1,2,3,4,8 and 9. Confirmed it in my Manual.
I have completed around 650 Kms on my GSR. Am thinking whether to give it for 1st Servicing at the 750 KM Mark or wait till it crosses 1000 Kms, as i heard that the 1st Engine Oil change should be done quickly.
What do you Guys suggest?

i am experincing difficulties with the gears......sometimes when i try to reduce the gear,it wont change and the gear display in the speedo goes blank.....the gear is displayed only after i raise the throttle a bit and only after that i am able to get the gear down!!
It is also difficult to shift the gears down quickly in fast deccelaration, like at the traffic signals!
Does anyone else have these issues??
