Where did you hear this? Would you have any link to the source? And anyways R3 is not produced in India it always followed a CKD route.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostGuys is it true, production of r3 has stopped in india and it will only relaunch next year? That's incredibly disappointing.

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
It is not production that stopped in India, it is sale that stopped as R3 is manufactured outside India. Regarding relaunch of R3, nobody knows when will it come back. Recently, Ducati also stopped sale of some of its products for not meeting emission norms but immediately announced timelines regarding their relaunch. Yamaha should also announce the same to remove the confusion.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostGuys is it true, production of r3 has stopped in india and it will only relaunch next year? Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Yeah but ducati came out with the launch of the 950 multistrada and new monster and the reason they've stopped the production of the panigale as they are shifting to 4 cylinder if I'm not wrong , Yamaha on the other hand have the worst customer communication, they don't mention why they've stopped or any valid reason, I do understand the bs4 norms hit them, but come on what is the point of stopping sales without an official statement?Originally posted by NH08 View PostIt is not production that stopped in India, it is sale that stopped as R3 is manufactured outside India. The official reply was BS4 norms. As of now expected relaunch around October (not official) considering 2017 model in Europe will be launched in August.Originally posted by Deathwing View PostGuys is it true, production of r3 has stopped in india and it will only relaunch next year? Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi everyone,
thought I would chime in...
Have completed 24k yesterday.
Had given my bike to the SVC at Lower Parel for the oil change but unfortunately they did not have the spanner for opening the oil filter...kind of difficult to believe but I let it go.
I have completed 5k kms on the current oil. The guy at the SVC says that Sporty Lube is generally good for 7-8k kms since its fully synthetic. Visually the oil is pretty clear. But in the past i have always changed the oil between 4-5k kms..I will have a go at another service centre on saturday.
i am also looking out to replace the tires ..at least the rear tire. Thinking of Metzeler M5 150/60/R17. ( Getting it for 5600 locally ). My current MRF tire looks good for another 10k kms...but it has had too many punctures now. Plus the performance of M5 would be better than the stock MRF ones on the wet Mumbai roads.

Jawed, I would suggest you to use motul 7100, and regarding tires try michelin if you want long life. But with metz you can extract maximum potential from R3.Originally posted by jawedsoft View PostHi everyone,

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Just wondering...
The stock tires are 140/70...now if I replace them with 150/60...the speedometer will not accurate anymore....so the odometer will end up showing more kms than actual.....hmm...I need to research a bit more on internet on this aspect...

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Why not try the mrf masseter in the stock 140/70 size. Seems similar to the Revz c/fc compound (used on the ktm's).Originally posted by jawedsoft View PostJust wondering...

This and the metz or pirelli's will be more puncture prone compared to the michelin radials.. but definitely offer good grip levels.
The masseter's should be a good value for money vs the hard zappers the r3 is shod with. But ofcourse if you are getting a good deal on the metz go for it, but remember it is the most puncture prone tire out there

Problem with masseters is that non availability of front 110 section tire otherwise it's a really good tire.Originally posted by s1d View PostWhy not try the mrf masseter in the stock 140/70 size. Seems similar to the Revz c/fc compound (used on the out there

Re: Yamaha YZF R3 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hey guy,
Thanks for the MRF tip...in my obsession with Metz and the Michelins..I hadn't thought of MRF option.
I hope the rear ones would be available somewhere close by...
