Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Guys do we have any DIY to change the rear suspension settings for RTR 200.
I feel the current suspension setup is too softer and in some cases it is throwing me out of the seat, and i prefer a stiffer suspension setup.
Also the seat is slippery is there any solutions. Basically i am short guy, it is annoying me a lot.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Thats good news.Originally posted by prashantbhat25 View PostIt is available with Hare Krishna Dealers, Malad. I did not see the test bike, but they showed me the price list and confirmed its availability. I had gone there to check the 200 FI and RR310 two weeks back.
I called them up but it seems they are very busy with calls from customers.
I checked the price for the abs version which is almost 15k dearer than the base variant. This makes it way out of my budget. If I stretch the budget then I will have to compromise on riding gear or get a loan. I prefer not doing that.
Like most of us, I will save up for a couple of months and get ABS retrofitted. Besides, I lovee the matte Red Apache and TVS are not offering that colour with ABS.

Is it possible to get ABS retrofitted (any official news) ? And will it be reliable? How much will it cost?Originally posted by a_shirke8 View PostThats good news.

There is no official new as of now and I am not too sure if it will be done at TVS service center either.Originally posted by Ysahil92 View PostIs it possible to get ABS retrofitted (any official news) ? And will it be reliable? How much will it cost?
One thing I am sure about is it will be quite costly. I'd say about 20-22k to get it retrofitted.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
Exactly too costly and complex to get it done later. I for one am pissed that for just 15k more one can get dual channel abs, pirelli tyres and 6 plate clutch (seems too low to me). Why did TVS take so long to bring this to the market!!Originally posted by a_shirke8 View PostThere is no official new as of now and I am not too sure if it will be done at TVS service center either.

Anyways if I were you this would be a no brainer for me. I would definitely hold my booking and get the abs variant. You can probably arrange for finances (ask from friends or relatives...) but once you get the bike you are stuck with it.

Im getting my Apache for Rs10,4000 on road. I'm saving atleast 6-8k. If I hold it off I'm sure I wont get a deal this good again.Originally posted by Dovahkiin View PostExactly too costly and complex to get it done later. Besides, the saved money can be used to invest in the ABS installation. Which makes my bike close to the factory fitted ABS version in terms of money spent. Added bouns, I get it in my favourite colour.(the current ABS RTR 200 has ony 2 colours available.)
All these things considering I dont upgrade to a RR 310 or the BMW 310 in a couple of years.(my employer gives a considerable quartely bonus) [emoji14]
I get it, the logical thing to do is hold the booking and wait for ABS. I just cant wait any longer thats the problem. Especially because the delivery is tomorrow. (*-*)

Go for the ABS version. there is nothing better than factory fitted. As such TVS doesnt provide option to add ABS later and probably will not.Originally posted by a_shirke8 View PostIm getting my Apache for Rs10,4000 on road. Waiting few weeks is worth for something you'll own for more than a few years.
Compromise on color but Never compromise on safety. 15K additional for abs(Dual), better clutch and rubber is worth.
have patience and take a loan if needed.

Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I understand the feeling buddy. Even if felt the same since rtr200 was my first bike. But I would still advise holding off and getting a abs bike and in the meantime occupy yourself with some other activity. Maybe rent/borrow a bike and go for some long ride or something else you like. After all the impatience you are feeling (and I felt) are nothing more than a state of mind. The reason I persist is because when I had my first accident I felt I could have avoided it with abs. So I started looking to sell my bike and get a used CBR 250r abs version. I dropped plans for that now but my next bike will definitely be with abs (and these guys are giving better tyres and a better clutch so the rewards will be even sweeter). But its up to you after all you have to live with it. Best of luck.Originally posted by a_shirke8 View PostI get it, the logical thing to do is hold the booking and wait for ABS. Re: TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience
I waited over an year for the top spec variant to be launched before buying the Red Carb+Pirelli version last year in March. A great motorcycle no doubt but TVS are getting on my nerves with the peacemeal approach to launching variants.
First it was only the Carb version, with the occasional Pirelli variant available in few showroom. Then they launched the FI version end of last year. Now finally they are offering ABS but only with the Carb variant as of now. Like seriously ***!!
Moreover, at the time of buying my RTR, the sales people assured me that ABS can be retrofitted when made available as the console and discs already have the mount points. This needs to checked out soon to see if they were fibbing or not.
Finally, can anyone explain the potential gains of a 6 plate clutch over the 5 plate one we have? And most definitely this should be an upgrade that existing RTRs can accommodate?

As far as I know it should improve acceleration.Originally posted by ALI.R View PostI waited over an year for the top spec variant to be launched before buying the Red Carb+Pirelli version last year in March. TVS Apache 200 4V - Having trouble with the gear shifting and mileage
I am using Apache RTR 200 4v from past 4 months. Have trouble with the gear shifting and mileage.
- When I down shift the gear from 4th to 3rd, sometimes the gear will not shift. To shift it, I have to leave the clutch once and again hold it to shift the gear. I have road 2000 kms from the day of purchase.
- And also I am only getting 20-22kms of mileage. I had 2 servicing.
I just want to know with other Apache riders in this forum, whether this problem is there with all the Apache 200 bikes or am I the only person facing this issue
.
Please help me how to resolve these issue.
Thanks.
