I'm not a pro but the oil which I'm using now is not much deteriorated as per my opinion its colour is yellow with faint tint of brown.
    Any suggestions will be appreciated.
If you are using synthetic oil then it can be used till 5K-6K whereas semi-synthetic oil can be used for 2K-3K. This is the logic given by the service center guys which I am still following. But since your bike is still in warranty, it is recommended that you follow the oil change schedule as advised by Service Center to avoid any warranty issues in future.

      Hi Guys,

I have ordered a Matte red STD machine 2 days back and expecting the delivery in another week, tried to get an ABS version but the dealer in my native Kallakurichi, TN doesn't have the facility to service ABS, hence they cant deliver ABS, checked with few dealers in Salem but they said not even one ABS is out in sales throughout the country, Any idea if it is true that no ABS version has been delivered till now?

True, hunting to ABS version here in Coimbatore. Dealers are clueless when it would be out to showrooms
Why such delay from TVS even after 1.5 months after launch...
Shouldn't they aware on current open offerings ... ie., Hero Xtreme200, Bajaj NS/RS200, KTM 200/250

The stock mount is not very suitable for clip-ons. Hence got this custom made.

          What do you guys think?

            Dear all,

I need to buy a performance commuter bike for Bangalore city. I already own a Cbr 250 abs (2016) and a unicorn 150(2009). Now I need to change my unicorn to a better bike, it's almost done with it's good life. Initially I wanted to buy a hornet 160 but when I test drive the same, that 15bhp is just in paper. Somehow gixer is not impressing me, then I thought I will see between ns 200 and Apache 200. When going through product review, all are praising the additional gear, torque, bhp and liquid cooling. But I believe Apache 200 will have a better soul. Definitely I am not looking for any too speed here, I have mini Cbr for any high way ride. All I wanted is matured bike, which also support pillion seat. My Cbr gives me a mileage around 31 in city and 37-39 in high way. Yes, I won't drive harsh. Only thing I should consider is, any bike should give me more mileage than Cbr, atleast in city. I could see that RTR 200 FI giving slightly better mileage and performance than carburettor model but it also have that premium difference.
Can you please guide me here? What's the avg mileage I can expect in city and highway. Do I need to go for FI? And why? Hows the bike fit and finish in long run, is it better than Honda? Apache series are famous for the vibrations, how about RTR 200?

yes, when i inquired about ABS, most of the dealers had no idea if there is an ABS version. I checked in almost every other major showrooms around my locality, checked with a prominent dealer in pondicherry yesterday. the reply was "no 200ABS till now and the 180ABS is also stopped". I need a bike deliberately by this month, so had no choice other than booking the standard version. I had a dilemma b/w FI and carburetor, even after understanding FI is superior, i somehow inclined towards carburetor for the advantage of cost effective servicing and not need to maintain any min fuel level.

I know I might sound stupid but was curious.. Has anyone tried flat handlebars on rtr 200 instead of clip ons?
I know that will kill the essence of rtr but wanted to know if anyone had done so. I am asking such questions to know if it is possible to ride rtr hard over broken and off roads while standing on foot pegs..

The process is more or less the same for all motorcycles:

Bajaj Pulsar 220 Clip-on's to Handlebar Conversion

Remove clip-on's, drill holes on T plate and set handlebar holders, fix handle bar.

If cable length becomes and issue try going for spares of other motorcycles that fit, thumb rule is to stick with the spares from same manufacturer as in the event of a wreck at a far off destination the motorcycle can be given to ASC to be brought back to ride-able condition.

I cant digest the fact that I could have got slipper clutch for ₹1500 more had I waited for a month.

                        I love my bike though.

Priced at Rs. 95185 (Carburetor), Rs. 107885 (EFI) and Rs. 108985 (Carburetor with ABS), (Ex-showroom Delhi), the series will be available across the country."

I had already booked for the FI version. Thinking of changing it to this new version. The new graphics looks very good. Technically, don't know whether it is a good to have feature. It will be helpful if any one can throw some light on this.
Its worth it for the slipper clutch. Smooth shifts up or down. Go ahead and change your booking if its possible. But I believe this variant will have a longer waiting period.

I can uderstand that you'll probably have to wait a long time if you change the booking but its worth it. Not for the looks but the slipper clutch.

Dont get me wrong the clutch in the base version is very good. But if youre gonna be in traffic and constantly switching between the gears, slipper clutch can be a heaven.

I suggest you go with what your heart says. But know this, you wont regret getting the Apache. Irrespective of the variant.

I agree with you on the last statement, I am already using Apache 160 FI for the last 9 years and am totally satisfied with it.

I had a word with my dealer, Hare Krishna, and they haven't still heard about the new version from TVS. But they confirmed that I will be able to switch to this new version, once it is made available to them.

Noticed one thing on the TVS website that they have removed all references to the old version of the Apache 200 4V and replaced it with the new Race Edition 2.0 version. Looks like all variants of "Apache 200 4V" will come with the slipper clutch technology, the new graphics and the Royal Crown fly-screen. It now has a very nice looking TVS Horse logo ported from Apache 310!!!
