Hi Guyz, I believe the new version of Dominar has most of the issues resolved, so was planning to purchase one from Bangalore. Did check with a few showrooms but then when I verified the reviews it wasn't good. None of the showrooms or Service Centers had a good rating. Request you guyz to point out a Showroom in Bangalore from where I can purchase Dominar 400

Is everything else normal?
The oil colour?
Keep the bike at idle and check for steam also tighten all the caps including the drain one.

Also ppl facing problem in pune join the doc group its very active and can help you out regarding the service and all

Are they planning for another refresh? I want to get one but the colors put me off! Specially the golden alloys! What are the guys at Bajaj smoking? Why take away the cbedt suiting color off!? Specially the white! I really hope they come up with colors sooner.. else I'm gonna start looking elsewhere.

Yes if it is pre September 2017 made bike then it is needed, which could be the case as White was discontinued last year.Originally posted by skt4u View PostHi
Purchased this machine in white color in muzaffarpur Tirhut Automobiles..plz let me know ECU update needed ...because showroom nd service guys has no information about this.

Better get it done at ur first service, but again if u are not facing any throttle lag or missing u can ignore ecu update.
Did ur bike has v2 sticker on speedo meter and if there is the 5.5k rpm warning light till 2000kms then it is a pre updated bike.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
This is one of the reason I avoided buying dominar. Because buying new bike and followup SVC for your issues will really piss me off. I tried to reach Bajaj customer care and Bangalore service engineers with questions I was able to find out from the forums. The replays were horrible, they were advising like it's a bigger cc bike which you are going to buy and it's their nature. One guy even said like, it's a favour from Bajaj that they launched here or similar higher cc bike won't suit indian climate. I just listened to them like I am fresher well meantime I had to skip and go with a reliable bike. I bought used Cbr 250 abs version. Last 1.2 year, I only did a service and later switched to Mobil with the help from a Pvt garage. Bike constantly giving 30-31 km mileage in Bangalore city and 35-39 in highways. With respect to the engine heat, I am observing that along with temperature gauge. After switching to Mobil, it's much better. Frankly I don't know how to check coolant level in Cbr, bike didn't give a chance for that.Originally posted by sam.jit2008 View PostDoes any one in this forum uses dominar as a daily commuter. If so, in how kms coolant is required to be topped up. My dominar coolant goes down below the minimum mark on every 500 kms. No leakage or coolant mixes with engine oil found. SVC guy thoroughly checked and no issues found and told me that coolant level is falling due to excessive heat it evaporates and it will become normal in winter. My question is that the reason given me by SVC guy is true or something else. Does anyone experienced same issue if so, what will be solution. Thanks in advance.
Well let's leave that, if hot engine scenario causing the radiator water issue. What about Duke series, I believe radiator water will be empty by single city drive. I believe you need to find a better service center, also escalate to Bajaj and follow up there. They should find out what's causing there. A lesser coolant level is not a good sign, considering dominar not having a temperature gauge we won't be knowing whether it's started giving issues also.

You didn't answer the other thing, do u have rpm warning light glowing at 5.5k rpm or is it only glowing at 8.5k rpm, if it is the first case then u have pre updated bike otherwise you will need update, but again i say if u don't feel or face any missing or throttle lag then ignore the ecu update. This thing is over hyped by few owners some do not even know the purpose of it.Originally posted by skt4u View PostNo there is no sticker
I personally know guys who are still running the bike on first map.
Still if u need the new map there is no harm in getting it done, tell them to flash the ecu with latest firmware at the first service. They would have to generate a code with ur bikes chassis number, which will also tell if u have latest map or not.
