Haven't timed it though, but it's observed to be about 20% later than usual. external temp in the range of 35~42 degrees Celsius.
if a simple coolant change made such a drastic change, that is remarkable. i am stumped.
i would have tried the same on my D200, but i recently picked up the motocool and due for a change shortly.

ll help to save off some weight from the bike. So far I am able to save around 5-7 kgs from the bike.
Since the 2017 model, the bike has an evap canister.. that is the black box. removing that might not be that straight forward as a procedure from what ive read on another forum from people who have got their hands dirty on eliminating the evap canister.

The older ones simply had a vent pipe going from the tank down the left side open to the atmosphere.

You are mistaken, this is not part of water drain system. The black box you see is the charcoal(evap) canister which is as part of BS4 as mentioned in the previous post.

It absorbs extra fuel fumes vapors which are formed inside the fuel tank during very hot days, it converts the vapor fuel to liquid fuel and re-circulates it back to the fuel tank!

Better not to mess with it, the only way to shed lot of weight of the bike is to get rid of that muffler end can or mid pipe cat chamber removal, you'll literally lose close to 10kg.

Just as Kiran and others pointed out. The Black Box or the canister that you see is basically for emissions purposes and helps re-route fuel vapors. If you want to throw if off, you can, it's not going to affect the bike. But your fuel fumes will be routed to atmosphere, which causes pollution. The EVAP can is the first thing enthusiasts throw off when they consider weight reduction. But, you're pretty much not gaining much by throwing off this canister. It's better it stays there, helps the environment and helps in some fuel efficiency of the bike.

        Hope it helps!

        Cheers!

I was checking some aftermarket exhausts which gets rid of the cat chamber like greasehouse customs. But they don't have one for Duke 290 2017 models.
Found some mid pipes in Olx in Chennai.

So Can I retain the actual end can and remove the cat chamber with a mid pipe from Olx?

Do you know someone who has done this? Will help a lot.

          Thanks.
After these replies, I read on some forums about the issues in removing the solenoid valve associated with it. Did someone in our forum manage to remove it?

Also please advice on removing the cat chamber and running a mid pipe.

Yesterday I bought the 14T front sprocket meant for Duke 250 and replaced it with 15T default one in my 390. After this, I tried riding in the city for the usual commute. Its far easier to stay on low speeds in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears. I know it will affect the top speed. But I hardly take the duke over 100 kmph. The in gear acceleration is also faster than before.

I will observe for sometime. When the time is up to replace the rear sprocket and chain, I will switch it to 46T and with an X-Ring chain.

The PCV and its entire routing can be plugged right off from the bike, in worse case it will throw an error on the console, but again which can be done a work around with. Yes, you can use a mid pipe instead of cat-con which makes the bike breathe better, and many have done that and you have midpipes sold online as well. Yes, the Duke 250's front tooth is 14, and 390 is 15 so you're effectively undergearing it in a cheap and effective manner, which give you better acceleration and mid range, but you will lose top end speed.

              Hi Guys,

Can some one suggest some good aftermarket exhaust for Duke 390 2017 model?

I don't want it to sound too loud but bit bitter than the stock exhaust.

Since Duke 250's front sprocket fits in 390, is it possible to fit the 390's front sprocket in the 250 Duke to improve it's top end performance? If so, how much difference it may have?

Yes, to the Duke 250, you can fix the Duke 390s sprocket and you will definitely see performance in top end.

You can check out Red Rooster Performance exhausts. But, before that, send them a mail regarding compatibility of the newer models to the older models. These aren't full pipes, these are basically slip ons with deciber killers, works well.

                    Hi Guys,

Today I noticed some flickering in the lcd screen. It only happes when I move to a different menu or switching screens like to the favorites (usually menus with blue background color). It flickers for 2-3 seconds and its gone. Anyone faced similar issue? I couldn't get the flickering on the video though to show

                    Cheers,

Which software version that are you using right now. There have been instances where some have reported flickering and a TFT software update has helped resolve it. It reminds me of this news that I read sometime back..

Nikku, appreciate the video and it's seems as easy as it sounds, I hope you took the right amount of oil out of both the forks. Just to make sure that one isn't stiffer than the other, this means you'll blow your fork seals sooner rather than later. This trick is a great one, and should help reduce the stiffness induced fork seal bust syndrome. What's key here is not to take excess fluid out, as it can and will ruin the fork internals due to poor lubrication and cause scoring and ruining the fork internals, which is a real issue. Also too less oil will cause fork dive during hard braking and can also create air pockets inside that will make the suspension soggy.

                          Cheers!

Yes. I measured the amount of fork oil taken out from each fork. Aka Removed the same amount from each fork.
If the fork had uneven amount from factory then i cannot determine if the fluid level is the same on both forks.
However, i did measure the internal level with the straw before closing each fork (while maintaining the same amount/level of sag).

If you are not into like very loud exhaust but just looking for just a more throatier and louder exhaust then you can stick to stock exhaust and just remove the DB killer/Baffle from stock exhaust. It is considerably louder than stock exhaust.

You'll still not mess too much with AFR and back pressure, you'll still retain stock exhaust, not too irritatingly loud as aftermarket exhausts and save ton of money.
