Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hello .everybody and the happy riders of 2017 KTM DUKE... would like to know from all the riders..
How much mileage can we expect from the beast..
1. Upto initial service of 1000km?
2. Post 1st service?
3. City traffic conditions?
4. Highway traffic conditions?
I am planning to buy one and it would also involve my daily commuting.
Thanks in advance.

Yes I have just got it done. They said that some issues have been fixed. Such as the headlight switching off.. Or the date/time getting reset.Originally posted by sanju4evr View PostDid anyone go for software update for new Duke 390?
Buttons response seems better.
Also, after the update, only iPhone can connect to the bike. In about 10 days, ktm will be launching an app and you will get an invite to download and then the android phone will connect to the bike.
That's what the service guy told me.

I am not sure..is it right place to post the below query.. please move it if there any right place..
What would be the effect of GST on premium bike segment after implementation?? post July??
Will the prices come down or it may increase??
Is it right time to buy or people should wait and buy after july??

First of all don't buy this bike if u want mileage from it, buy dominor or any other which will give u good mileage; this bike is meant for its performance.Originally posted by revvmaniac.anurag View PostHello .everybody and the happy riders of 2017 KTM DUKE... would like to know from all the riders..

Although this bike will give u some good amount of mileage if you cruise around 70-90KMPH some bikers claimed 32 KMPL
Upto 1000KM what I had got was around 21 KMPL but again it depends on your riding style, if u rev it high it will give around 20ish
After service there was no major improvements as such
City traffic you will get around 20-23
Highway its good an average of around 25-26
But when I cruised at a speed around 70-90 at 6th i got a mileage of 31

my suggestion - wait.. GST should be actually implemented in your state before july to be actually in effect..
GST - it should reduce the overall cost, but you might never know.
July - I think that most of the issues must be fixed & the new V39 TFT would be put up and running..
those are just my opinion & need to be accurate, actual owners might have a different views, I am leaning towards this bike, but I'm still holding off from upgrading till someone confirms if I can do a 300 KMs in 11.5 liters for highway riding.. just want an opinion of how much tank range does this bike give for highways particularly if ridden at about 110-120 KMPH with occasional bursts of "adrenaline"

It's been 2200kms till now and here is the answer for your queries.Originally posted by revvmaniac.anurag View PostHello .everybody and the happy riders of 2017 KTM DUKE... would like to know from all the riders..

1. I got around 24-25kmpl up to 1000kms in mixed city highway ride of 50-50 (calculated via TF2TF method.
2. Post first service in same conditions yielded 25-26 kmpl
3. City traffic conditions around 20-21kmpl.
4. This is charm on highways, I have got 31-32 kmpl by tankful to tankful method with speed averaging around 90kmph (occasionally up to 130-140 also)

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
Hi everyone,
May be this is a small thing, but of all the bikes delivered till now, i don't see the orange color plastic shrouds on the front forks that were present on the bikes given to media for reviews. These shrouds are also present on the pics of the bike given in the brochure and their website. It would help to keep the front forks clean. Is anybody aware about that or someone clarified that with KTM?
Thanks in advance.

My guess is its there inside the black rubber cover on the forks..(may be in orange color or black color)Originally posted by jdev16 View PostHi everyone,

the reason i am telling is.. i saw RC 200 White orange color in office and noticed closely.. which is having the orange plastic you are talking about.
There was no black rubber on it.. so my guess is..when RC 200 is having the yellow plastic..which is not supposed to receive any technical/mechanical update except BS4 Tweak.. 2017 Duke 390 also should have the same.
What WP stickers and color can be ignore as it may be cost cutting thing.. as the new 2017 duke 390 is having steel handlebars compared to aluminum handlebar of the previous generation bike...
I couldn't take the clear picture of it from underground parking so attaching the picture from internet.Last edited by srisathiyan89; 05-19-2017, 04:20 PM.

Re: 2017 Duke 390 Owners Reviews and Experiences
The orange seals on the forks are only given on the media bikes and the export versions. The Indian ones get the black rubber dust boot because of our dusty conditions. The orange seal is not there below the dust boot. So, we guys get the black rubber instead of the orange seal.Originally posted by jdev16 View PostThank you..i asked the dealers and they told me that new bikes are not coming with that.
